Nigerians are fond of breeding like rabbits without bothering about the outlook of the future to accommodate these extra human beings on the planet. To make the situation worse the economy never grows fast enough to provide space for the demands of the rising population. When the population is rising and resources are depleting it should signal doom ahead. Our large population for a small economy is part of the problems Nigerians are facing today, but many of us don't realise it. When there are so many hungry mouths and a limited means of survival we have a higher poverty rate and people resort to desperate means to survive which will definitely include a higher crime wave. Its better you all reduce the breeding rate or else you are simply giving birth to those who will eventually cut your lives short in order to take your space and sources of income to survive.

In this life, you may be lucky to have a man you can kick his butt, some women do not have that option. So many wives have suffered worse and are managing to pull through as best they can. I have not lived long, but I have experienced many things. I know what life can deal a human being. Yes what use is he if he can not take care of a child..now answer that question yourself. When you know he may be useless will you not ignore him and look for an alternative? Why should he be a house husband when the income of the woman is not even enough to solve their problem? People are not dumb, that she is hanging her desire to not help someone because she has a husband whom she feels should sit at home is evil.

I wont be happy if my husband ran to his mum to get packs of food just cos I couldnt cook for him one day. Moreso, when it wasnt discussed. By the same token, if I were the husband in this case, I'ld get really angry if my wife showed up at the door with this sort of surprise from her father.

It's simple, if you cant give up the goodies you got from your very rich dad, dont get married to someone who cant give them to you! Stay with him till your mum chases you out.

As a dad, if you cant respect your daughter's marriage, or respect the man in your son-in-law, dont give her out in marriage! A diplomatic dad would have called the daughter aside, told her his intention and asked her to confer with her husband first, as he would only go on to get the car if the husband was okay with it. Anything else is total disrespect of the son-in-law/their marriage.

Life is not that hard; it's simple. Cant stop eating from daddy? Dont get married. Cant stop being your daughter's head? Dont give her out in marriage. Simple.

Lastly, here I am shaking my head in total repulsion at posts like those of chillsause and carefreewannabe. May God help any woman who listens to what they/their like say about marriage on this forum.
