The embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in his public broadcast monitored by yours truly from his self exiled abode, vowed to bring hell on the Nigerian government if a referendum is not called immediately to pave the way for the cessation of the Republic of Biafra from the Nigerian State.

He also insisted in his broadcast that there would be no elections in the southeast come 2019.

However, if the members of IPOB are compelled to boycott the 2019 elections, members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP admit in strong terms that this action might have a negetive effect on the chances of Atiku having a reasonable votes from the southeast irrespective of Dr. Peter Obi running alongside him, considering the membership strength of IPOB in the region.

CelebritiesThe Real Super Mario Dies Aged 84 by chily11(op): 12:29pm On Nov 03, 2018
Mario Segale, the man after whom video game hero Super Mario was named, has died aged 84.

Mr Segale was a successful Italian-American property developer from the US state of Washington.

In the 1980s, he leased a warehouse to Nintendo of America who decided to name the star of their new video game after him.

Mr Segale joked to the Seattle Times in 1993 that he was "still waiting for my royalty cheques".

Super Mario was originally called Jumpman until Nintendo decided it wanted to give the character a proper name.

Mr Segale said it was Minoru Arakawa, who had been tasked with setting up Nintendo of America, who told him the video game hero carried his name.

According to his obituary, Mr Segale "always ducked the notoriety and wanted to be known instead for what he accomplished in his life".

He leaves behind his wife Donna, four children and nine grandchildren.

SportsUsain Bolt Ends Central Coast Mariners Trial by chily11(op): 5:46am On Nov 02, 2018
Usain Bolt and Central Coast Mariners have amicably agreed to end the Jamaican's training period after a suitable commercial agreement couldn't be found.

Though the Mariners did offer the eight-time gold medalist a contract, the offer was a far cry from what the 32-year-old was after and though the club looked into finding commercial partners, both parties have agreed to end the trial.

Having been with the club since August and scored a famous double in a trial match last month, Bolt thanked the club for giving him a chance.

"I would like to thank the Central Coast Mariners owners, management, staff, players and fans for making me feel so welcome during my time there," Bolt said.

"I wish the club success for the season ahead."

Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth was a key figure in organising the trial and though disappointed a deal couldn't be struck, praised Bolt's commitment to the club and the light he shone on the club and Australian competition.

PoliticsAn Entire Town In New Zealand Is For Sale by chily11(op): 2:52pm On Oct 31, 2018
Some people buy houses. Some people buy apartments.

Some people, perhaps, buy an entire abandoned town in New Zealand.

Lake Waitaki Village, located on the South Island about 180 km (112 miles) north of Dunedin, is up for sale for a cool $2.8 million.

The town, which was built in the 1930s as housing for men working on a nearby dam construction project and their families, has been sitting empty since the late 1980s when the dam was automated and no longer needed people there every day.

That also coincided with more and more New Zealanders opting to settle in cities instead of pursuing a rural life.

But don't expect a creepy "Westworld"-style ghost town if you travel here to see it. Lake Waitaki Village is still in remarkably good shape, consisting of eight houses, a restaurant, a main lodge with a billiard room and full commercial kitchen, multicar garages and more.

Kelli Milmine, a New Zealand-based real estate agent at the One Agency, notes that "the area's tourism potential is only recently starting to be realized with the opening of the Alps to Ocean (A2O) cycle trail bringing many new visitors to the region."

One potential hurdle? Earlier this year, New Zealand passed a law making it impossible for foreign citizens to buy property there.
The reasoning behind the law was that real estate prices in New Zealand had soared so dramatically that locals couldn't afford to live in the places they'd grown up.

SportsCristiano Ronaldo Sets New Record At Juventus by chily11(op): 12:07am On Oct 31, 2018
Eyebrows were raised when Cristiano Ronaldo opted to leave Real Madrid for Juventus in the summer.

Serie A is renowned as being a more defensive league than La Liga, and many football fans assumed Ronaldo would struggle to score goals at such a prolific rate.

The Portuguese superstar made scoring goals look easy during his time in Spain. In 438 appearances for Los Blancos, Ronaldo netted a remarkable 450 goals.

That works out as 50 goals a season on average. No wonder Madrid have struggled without the five-time Ballon d’Or winner this season.

Madrid’s loss has undoubtedly been Juve’s gain. Although Ronaldo endured a difficult start to life with the Italian giants, he’s making up for lost time now.

In his last nine appearances, Ronaldo has scored seven goals. All seven goals have been scored in Serie A, making a mockery of suggestions that he would struggle to find the back of the net quite so regularly in Italy’s top division.

Spanish newspaper AS have now revealed that Ronaldo has set a Juventus record which hasn't been matched for 60 years.

It’s been revealed that no Juve player has scored more than six goals in their first 10 Serie A games since the legendary John Charles during the 1957-58 campaign.

Spanish newspaper AS have now revealed that Ronaldo has set a Juventus record which hasn't been matched for 60 years.

Charles, who scored seven goals in his first 10 league games for the Old Lady, ended his debut campaign in Italy with 28 goals to his name.

And now Ronaldo has matched that tally, making him the first player to score seven goals in his first 10 Serie A appearances for Juventus since the Welshman.

It’s been revealed that no Juve player has scored more than six goals in their first 10 Serie A games since the legendary John Charles during the 1957-58 campaign.

HE'S OUTPERFORMED SOME JUVE LEGENDS
That Juve have had some seriously talented forwards in their ranks over the years makes Ronaldo’s feat all the more impressive.Gonzalo Higuain, Carlos Tevez and Filippo Inzaghi all scored six goals in their first 10 league appearances for the European giants.

Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet, meanwhile, all netted five in the same number of games.

We can, therefore, assume that Ronaldo is going to end the 2018-19 campaign with another impressive number of goals to his name.Despite his excellent start to the season, though, Ronaldo does not currently occupy pole position in Serie A’s top goalscorer charts.

He’s currently in second position, two goals behind Genoa’s in-form striker Krzysztof Piatek.

#BuhariCertificateSaga: The fretting and jittering in the Presidency whenever the issue of President @MBuhari's academic certificate is mentioned confirms assertions by Nigerians that Mr. President is morally burdened and ostensibly has something to hide.

The @MBuhari Presidency should know that their threats and confrontation cannot take away the fact that their principal’s certificate issue requires a personal responsibility and Mr. President cannot wish away this responsibility as he had always done on official matters.

If Mr. President @MBuhari has nothing to hide, he should end the confrontations by his presidency and show integrity by writing the military authorities to make public the said certificate.

Moreover, President @MBuhari should know that Nigerians are aware that he is not the only retired military officer to aspire for elective office in the country and none of them brought the claims of their certificates being held by the military.

PoliticsWritten Version: Ipob Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Interview By An Israeli National by chily11(op): 11:36am On Oct 30, 2018
Israeli Reporter : I want to congratulate you, and to thank you for coming ’Mr Nnamdi Kanu” from Biafra, thank you so much

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Thank you

Israeli reporter: we’ll shortly tell the story of how did you happen to come here, let’s talk about your people’s story in Biafra, how many people there consider themselves as ‘Jewish’ and how did it manifest itself.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Biafra in total has about the population of 70 million people scattered all over the world, as you know they’ve called us “wandering Jews of Africa”, but those that have identified themselves with their Jewish heritage is nearly about ‘50 million people ‘.

Israeli reporter: 50 million people?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu : 5 0 million people

Israeli reporter: Do they practice Judaism?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu : A significant amount of them practice Judaism

Israeli reporter: In what way?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: By, in terms of their prayers, in terms of the ’Torah’ they read, in terms of the ’Kippah’ and the ’Tallit’ you use to pray, In terms of the recitation of their prayers, it's a very significant segment of the population that actually practice it as we do, most of us do in IPOB

(reporter cuts in, asks about ’IPOB’?)

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB is the Indigenous People of Biafra, it's this umbrella movement all over the world, that is pursuing the emancipation of Biafra from Nigeria, so what's been happening is that when Christianity came with colonialism, a lot of our Jewish heritage was suppressed, we were made to feel ashamed of our ’Jewishness’ so to speak, but luckily and fortunately for us a lot of people bravely maintained that very tradition and culture till this very day, if you go to ’Umuleri’ in Anambra state it is there, all over the world, its there. Even the Encyclopaedia Britannica of 1929 mentioned it quite specifically that the Igbos are the ’Jews of Africa’ because of all the traditions you have, from the circumcision to everything you can think of, from the book of Leviticus, we practice it right there.

Israeli Reporter: we talking about the Igbo nation, the Igbo people, not all of them are Jewish right? Not all the Igbos are Jewish? Or they are?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: They are all Jewish, the problem is that with the influence and the influx of Christianity as a result of colonialism, a lot of that was dampened down, what happened was that a lot of our emphasis was moved away from the ’Torah’, the Old Testament to the New Testament, but because the Old Testament still contained aspects of our tradition and our culture. We accepted the ”Bible” as it was given to us.

Israeli Reporter: Okay, let's see, we have a short clip showing you guys in Biafra in your Judaism way of life.

(Shows the short clip)

Israeli Reporter: Quite fascinating

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: very very fascinating

Israeli Reporter: Now, I want to look at the map of Biafra in Nigeria, maybe this map does tell a little bit of the story ( shows map) so, actually you guys in Biafra, what are you struggling for, what is your aim in your struggle, why there is a such a confrontation between you and the authorities?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Because we want to go back to the way we were before the British came, most of our problems was basically made by the British. The way Nigeria was put together is the root cause of the problem

Israeli Reporter: I'm talking about these days, there was a war and Biafra was kind of independent between 1967 -1970 I guess and since then its part of Nigeria, what do you want? You want an independent state of Biafra, you want to be a Jewish state, you want a kind aof autonomy, what do you want?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: We want an independent Jewish state and a Biafran state that is absolutely independent of anything to do with Nigeria, for the simple reason that we were dependent before the British came

Israeli Reporter: But you want to be a Jewish state?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Absolutely, to go back to our way of life, that's a place called ’Arochukwu’ where we come from, the same way you have ’ Yerushalayim’, the same way you have the temple in ’Yerushalayim’, we have one in ’Arochukwu’, the same thing. So we want to go back to that way of life to worshipping the one and only true God that we know.

Israeli Reporter: Is there anyone within the Israeli establishment that recognize you as a ’Jewish people’?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Absolutely, I'm sure that when, during the time of

( reporter interrupts, shows a clip of Nnamdi Kanu praying Western wall saying ”This is you praying at the Western wall”)

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Absolutely yes, I prayed there also in the year 2013, when I came to Israel

Israeli Reporter: So coming back to my Question about the recognition by Israel to your Jewish way of life and to your Jewish heritage

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Our Jewish heritage and our way of life, yes. Yitzchak Rabin made some statements about that, also Henry Kissinger, the former United States Secretary of state also made some comments about it as well. If you go to the ’Nixon papers’ regarding the Biafran war, it's all there. Very clearly spelt out, but I think there seems to be this kind of paranoia that should Biafra get closer to Israel, that 70 million people will somehow flock into the land of Israel? That is not the case, we are seeking Biafra so we can return to Biafra and be in Biafra.

Israeli Reporter: let's go back to your personal story. You have been persecuted or arrested in Biafra? What was the story about?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: I arrived in Nigeria, in Lagos on the 14th of October 2015, I was arrested ( reporter cuts in asking ’from where’?) from London. I was arrested for demanding freedom for my people because I run Radio Biafra in London and the authorities didn't like it, then I had to go down, I had to go home to basically see my people and they arrested me and kept me locked away for 19 months

Israeli Reporter: 19 months?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Yes, despite two court judgements to set me free. They took me to court

Israeli Reporter: More than a year and a half in custody?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Absolutely, without trial and then they eventually granted me bail with very stringent conditions, when I came out I continued to speak to my people, I continued to practice Judaism, my Jewish faith and one day they came to my house to kill me, the Nigerian Army came to my house to kill me.

Israeli Reporter: What was it like I mean?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: (Paused) I wouldn't wish anybody to go through it, they killed 28 people in the process

Israeli Reporter: How many?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: 28 people died

Israeli Reporter: By their attempt to kill you?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: To kill me, they killed 28 people

Israeli Reporter: How come they killed 28 people and they didn't get to you?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Because my people evacuated me before they could get to my bedroom.

Israeli Reporter: And then you flew away?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Then they took me away and smuggled me out of Nigeria, I needed some time to recover, which I did and then I had to make my way to Israel.

Israeli Reporter: I see you're very excited

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: I am...but I wouldn't call it excitement, I would say relieved that I managed to make it to the only place I feel safe in the whole world, I could have gone back to England, but I still don't feel safe to go back to England, that why I stayed in England.

Israeli Reporter: Okay, we are approaching the end of this conversation... Do you have any expectation from Israel government? From the Israeli society?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Yes, it is to live up to the obligations to defend Judaism and Jewish faith all over the world, we are been persecuted, we are suffering as a people and it is the responsibility, I believe, more of the responsibility of Israel to make sure that Biafra stands as an ’Independent entity’ in Africa.

Israeli Reporter: Nnamdi Igbo... (Sorry) Nnamdi Kanu from the Igbo people in Biafra I want to thank you so much for this conversation. I wish you all the best on a personal level, thank you so much.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: Thank you, Thank you.

(Ends Interview)

SportsLeicester City Boss Dead by chily11(op): 11:06pm On Oct 28, 2018
Leicester City have confirmed club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was among five people who died in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium

Supporters were laying tributes to the Thai businessman on Sunday morning in a solemn atmosphere outside the King Power Stadium as they awaited further information on exactly what happened.

Leicestershire police tweeted: "We understand that many people are waiting for an update about the helicopter crash at King Power Stadium last night. We are working with a number of other agencies to get an update out to the public and press. Thank you for your patience and all your messages of support."

Meanwhile, details have emerged from eye witnesses on what caused the helicopter crash, with engine failure sounding like a posible cause for the incident.

"The engine stopped and I turned round and it made a bit of a whirring noise, like a grinding noise," freelance photographer Ryan Brown told BBC Radio Leicester.

"The helicopter just went silent, I turned round and it was just spinning, out of control. And then there was a big bang and then [a] big fireball."
