The General Officer Commanding the 7 Division, Major General Abdulmalik Bulama Biu, has called on Boko Haram fighters to surrender their arms.

During an interview with journalists in Maiduguri on Sunday, he urged the militants to have a rethink and be patriotic Nigerians by laying down their arms.

According to him, they stand to gain a lot if they surrender, including opportunities to take up leadership positions in the country.

“Boko Haram should lay their arms unconditionally and be accepted. Opportunities are out there for them, they can be rehabilitated.

“An ex Boko Haram having laid his arms and turned away from his negativity, stands to be a president of this country; he stands to aspire to any position in this country. Why is he wasting his time when he cannot even deliver?” Biu said.

Speaking further, he assured Nigerians that the army will continue to ensure that peace is restored in the nation.

“As a professional soldier we would continue to do what we know best and that is to project our determined effort, we would not be distracted by some of the activities of our detractors and some of the collaborators.

“Nigeria deserves peace, Northeast deserves peace and the people of Borno deserve peace because it is only when there is peace there will be development,” he said

Gionee was running to grab a slice of the competitive Chinese smartphone market share. However, the company started to run into trouble during the last year. Before the end of a troublesome 2018, Gionee filled for bankruptcy.


While the situation of the company was rather complicated, fans and technology enthusiasts always hoped that it emerge from these troublesome waters. However, now all the hopes are officially gone as Gionee’s patents are billed to be sold off its patents in order to offset its debts. Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court announced that the bankruptcy liquidation of Gionee will be carried out by the administrator. This will happen from July 24 to July 25 via Taobao.com’s bankruptcy property network auction platform.

According to the report, Gionne’s patents will be auctioned at a starting price of 21,100 Yuan (~$3,067). The administration statistics show that 211 of Gionee’s design patents accumulated backlogs in annual fees. This added with late fees, recovery fees and other official fees results in 317,400 yuan. The court wants to raise up this sum to approximately 206 million yuan.

Unfortunately, the problems with Gionee didn’t start with lower than expected phone sales. The company was doing fine on this aspect, however, it ran in trouble due to poor financial management. It ultimately leads the company to a downward spiral. Apparently, Gionee’s president was one of the sources of this problem. The Issuance of Bench Warrant Against Me Is an Abuse of Process Taken Too Far- Innoson

Filed Notice of Appeal and Motion for Stay of Execution Against The Order.

The issuance of bench warrant against me by the Federal High Court Ikoyi Lagos, today, June 24th 2019 is an abuse of process taken too far by the Court and made without jurisdiction. The order itself is a nullity and does not have grounds on law.

Firstly, there is no prima facie case against me. The charge was based on suspected or trumped up action of Innoson Nigeria Ltd and Innoson Nigeria Ltd was a party originally to the charge but was discharged by the Court of Appeal.
Secondly, there was no notice of trial served on me pursuant to the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. The act provides that before the court should issue a bench warrant, there must be proof of service of the charge and the notice of trial on the person involved. But there is no notice of trial served on me and the question of whether I, Innocent Chukwuma has been served with the charge is still pending at the Supreme Court. More importantly, the charge is also an abuse because of earlier similar suit in relation to the charge pending at different Federal High Courts.

Thirdly, The said CHARGE NO: FHC/L/565/2015 which is a trumped up was filed by the Police in 2015 and was equally withdrawn by the same police through its notice of withdrawal dated 17th February, 2016 duly filed at the Federal High Court Registry Lagos.

GTB characteristically got the then Director of Public Prosecution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (names withheld) to claim to have taken over the Charge/case using the name of the Attorney General of the Federation. This is after the Police have withdrawn the case.

Interestingly, that DPP involvement in this matter and his complicities therein led to his removal as the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The argument on whether the Office of the Attorney General is empowered to take over a case that the Police have originally withdrawn is still going on at the Supreme Court.

The public should be aware that this latest order is being orchestrated by Guaranty Trust Bank in order to force me negotiate with the bank from a weaker position.

It will be recalled that in a decision of 27th February 2019 in Appeal No:SC.694/2014 between Guaranty Trust Bank PLC v Innoson Nig Ltd, the Supreme Court dismissed GTB’s appeal against the Court of Appeal’s judgment which ordered GTB to pay the judgment debt which with accrued interest is as at today over N9Billion.

I therefore advice the bank for the benefit of its shareholders to quickly comply with the Supreme Court judgment and pay the over N9billion judgment debt. Failure to do so within the short period of grace that Innoson Nigeria Ltd granted to the bank will lead to the final execution of the Writ of Fifa against Guaranty Trust Bank.

Meanwhile, I have appealed against the Order of Bench Warrant to the Court of Appeal and have as well filled a Motion for Stay of Execution of the Order.

Pope Francis said he was willing to tell US President Donald Trump in person that it is wrong to build border walls and appeared to warn him not to resume a policy of separating families.

“Separating children from their parents goes against natural law, and those Christians ... you can’t do it. It is cruel. It is among the greatest of cruelties. And to defend what? Territory, or the economy of a country or who knows what,” he said, adding that such policies were “very sad”.

Asked if he would tell Trump the same thing to his face if the president were sitting opposite him instead of the reporter, Francis said: “The same. The same because I say it publicly ... I have even said that those who build walls end up being prisoners of the walls they build.”

Astronomers announced on Wednesday that at last they had seen the unseeable: a black hole, a cosmic abyss so deep and dense that not even light can escape it.

The image, of a lopsided ring of light surrounding a dark circle deep in the heart of the galaxy known as Messier 87, some 55 million light-years away from here, resembled the Eye of Sauron, a reminder yet again of the power and malevolence of nature. It was a smoke ring framing a one-way portal to eternity.

To capture the image, astronomers reached across intergalactic space to a giant galaxy in Virgo, known as Messier 87. There, a black hole about seven billion times more massive than the sun is unleashing a violent jet some 5,000 light years into space.
