Well, i wouldn't know about that. I am not a fan of Ecobank and really don't understand their operations as they are not always paying their shareholders dividend. I only brought the argument about who responded to me that UBA now has more outstanding number of shares. My point was that UBA was not the only bank that increased their outstanding number of shares.

After recapitalization, almost all banks outstanding number of shares increased including GTCO and Zenith bank, except the ones that did not raised addition capital like Ecobank. So, this is no excuse, if GTCO and Zenith bank can increase their payout ratio with increased number of outstanding shares, i see nothing wrong with UBA doing the same.
