I'll try an ask my uncle he's a Magistrate or lawyer I know. From what I know the politicans and Lawyers get special bail condition (Forgot legal name).

Here's the answer the Lawyer I ask told me.

Bail is not Free. She thought those were already taken down since it's misleading. They can get bail money back in major surety cases. (As long as he doesn't break bail conditions.

hmmm...so those huge amounts arent actually taken by d courts...thanks man..

sequel to the bail granted the face of the Biafran Movement; Nnamdi kanu, albeit with conditions:
sureties:
senator
jewish leader, all of whom must possess 100million naira, in addition to being away from a crowd of not more than 10people.
My question is, how does this juxtapose with the law which states bail is free?.......note however that "bail is free" is also displayed on the walls and notice boards of various police stations...please lawyers and other learned intellectuals in the law, enlighten me...

Nairaland / General / History Of Osborne Effect-business Decision! by chimex38: 10:22pm On Apr 24, 2017
chimex38:
OSBORNE EFFECT

The computer that caused the "Osborne Effect" was
announced
The Executive went on to become extremely successful
even with a — wait for it — $2,495 (₦762k) price tag!

one of the most successful computers ever put to
market, a bad business decision and the death of one of
the most celebrated tech companies at the time.
Shall we?
1983 was a very interesting year in tech and computer
history in general. It was the year Apple launched its
famous Lisa computer ( rumor says it was named after
the daughter Steve Jobs refused to claim ), the still
legendary Famicom (known as “Family Com” to you
Nigerians) video game was launched, the first ever
version of Microsoft Word (1.0) was launched and Apple
held it’s first WWDC event ever.
In the midst of all that, a company called the Osborne
Computer Corporation (OCC) launched the Osborne
Executive , a portable computer that was meant to replace its Osborne 1 computer, on April 18, 1983. The
Executive went on to become extremely successful even
with a — wait for it — $2,495 (₦762k) price tag

According to Wikipedia, “The Osborne Executive was
useful for presentations and projects at client sites.
Unlike static presentations, the portable computer could provide on-the-spot answers to numerical questions when working with consulting clients. This laid the groundwork for the kind of ‘show me the money’ ROI or
TCO presentations commonplace today .”
Talk about doing it for the culture.

Unfortunately, the OCC leaked the announcement of the
Executive earlier in the year which made suppliers and
retailers stop orders of the Osborne 1 ( which was OCC’s
star product at the time) and, by consequence, hurt the
company’s cash flow.
This meant the company could only make limited units
of the Executive and had to shut down its planned IPO. It filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy shortly after. That
disastrous move by the Osborne Computer Corporation
is now known today in the business world as the
“Osborne Effect.”
The interesting thing about the Osborne story — and
weirdly so — is what it meant. For a company that
wasn’t as big as Apple or IBM (at the time) to still go
after its goal [despite a horrendous mistake] and create
a product that could have changed the game [had it had
a longer production life, maybe] is just amazing.
Naija ( Zinox and any one else willing to do it for the
culture ), over to you.

Shadbay:
If Tboss can spend 25000 000 in 1week, how long will it take her to spend 500,000.
SOLUTION

7days = 25000 000
X = 500,000
Cross multiply
25000 000X = 500, 000 x 7
X = 3500,000/25000 000
X = 0.14
Converting 0.14 into days
let, 7days = 0.14
1day = X
Cross multiply
7X = 0.14days
X = 0.14/7
= 0.02days
Converting 0.02days into time, with respect to hours.
1day = 24hours
0.02days = X
Cross multiply
X = 24 x 0.02
= 0.48hours
Converting 0.48hours into minutes.
1hour = 60minutes
0.5hour = 30minutes
Therefore, 0.48hours = 28minutes.
Final answer, 28minutes

Business / Re: Naira Appreciate Further To N380 To 1 Dollar by chimex38: 4:56pm On Mar 24, 2017
Earth2Metahuman:
no

Gej was dollarising the economy by spending dollars where he supposed to spend naira.
E.g, bribes are paid in dollars instead of naira (bribing kings, religious leaders and traditional rulers in dollars instead of naira during election and before)

-Expatriates and government worker are being paid in dollars instead of naira where they can find a way of exchanging it themselves (e.g okonjo, etc)

-Embezzlement was done in dollars.
During obj's time, they steal billions in naira, in gej's era, they steal in milllion and billion in dollars Cos its easier to get and keep than have bunch of useless naira.
That's why obj was able to save and gej couldn't.
Every wondered why 90% of people caught so far stole in dollars? (Mama piss, deziani, dasuki, that guy that kept money at home)

Dollar should be meant for importers, travellers and manufacturing industries and all transaction within the country should be done in naira But any tom dick and harry can request dollars from cbn before.

Hope you have learnt something.
very well, pls quantinue

Nairaland / General / Embarrassing:Nigerians Call Traffic Jam "Go Slow"-bbc by chimex38: 3:54pm On Mar 09, 2017
:
Stand anywhere in Lagos and you can see the
thunderous traffic, which gives this city an energy and
intensity quite unlike any other.
Nigerians call the gargantuan traffic jams of cars, trucks,
buses and vans "go-slows". Trying to get anywhere is
often an exercise in patience and perseverance.
But apart from the frustrations of driving here there is the
serious health impact of air pollution.
Many vehicles belch out huge dark sulphurous clouds of
exhaust emissions - the effects of "dirty fuels".
For the hawkers weaving and bobbing through the traffic
selling an assortment of drinks and snacks, it is a toxic
environmental to work in.
"Sometimes I feel sick. I don't know what causes it -
maybe the fumes or the dust," said one hawker who was
selling tissues.
"I have a little cough now. It's disturbing me but I don't
think it's serious."
Huge breakthrough
But some relief for the hawker and many others left
wheezing in Lagos is at hand.
In a move described as a huge breakthrough by
environmental campaigners, Nigeria is now tackling one
of its major causes of air pollution.
Last December, Nigeria was among five countries in
West Africa that pledged to stop importing dirty fuel used
for vehicles but also to power generators.
The announcement followed a hard-hitting report
accusing European companies of exploiting weak
regulations in West Africa to export fuels with high levels
of sulphur.
The World Health Organisation ranks sulphur particles
from vehicle engines and generators as one of the top
global risks - it is linked to heart disease, lung cancer
and respiratory problems.
For decades, Nigeria relied on colonial-era standards,
which campaigners say were woefully inadequate for
today's needs.
It meant that retailers could export fuel to Nigeria that
had 300 times the amount of sulphur of that which was
legally allowed to be sold in Europe.
Grace period
Now "dirty fuels" will be banned in July when the
government starts enforcing tough new regulations -
roughly in line with European standards.
The government is currently giving importers a six-
month grace period to comply with the new regulations.
"The ban will send a strong signal to the importers that
the government means business," says David Ugolor,
Executive Director of Africa Network for Environment and
Economic Justice.
"What's missing in Nigeria governance is trust. If the
government wants to regain trust of the people it will
need to keep on championing this kind of regulation."
Despite being a major oil producer, Nigeria imports most
of its fuel.
But the government says that new refineries being built
in Nigeria will also help alleviate the problem by
producing cleaner fuel.
