emmasoft: Don't worry. In the capital market right issue document is a public material everything about the right issue will be stated in black and white such as the price, and quantity of shares due to each investor and opportunity to buy more in most cases at a ratio also stated in the right document. The truth is that you actually don't need a stockbroker to take up your right. You can go to any of the receiving banks and submit your completed form. With the information you supplied on the form, your right will be credited to your cscs after the regulatory procedures.
Note: The form or sometimes the link will be sent to you by the registrars to the company, It can also be requested by the shareholder if not sent, you are required to download, complete, and then submit with any of the receiving agents your stockbroker inclusive. It's also important that you open a cscs account if you don't have otherwise there will be no place to domicile your shares because the era of paper certificates is passed. Thank you as always. |

BabsO2: Didn't see any Fidelity disclosure on rights issue this week. Rather they listed the shares sold through private placement.
When the rights issue is ready for execution (FBNH OR FIDELITY), the timeline for subscription and forms are mailed out to existing shareholders to complete and submit with their cash injection. OK. True.Fidelity listed shared sold. Thanks for the right issue clarification.. Gracias |

talk2me2: Okay what if the directors did not recommend any dividend at all what will they do? You will have to give substantive reason to shareholders.. Especially when u declared profit after tax huge enough to go round shareholders.. If they want to keep all of it as retained earnings.. Why? Is it new investment in an entity all agreed by shareholders.. Or paying off existing debt at once ? instead of servicing same loans quarter by quarter which costs more? Summary is.. There must be a genuine reason that can buy in majority of shareholders.. Otherwise u must pay dividend!!! |

talk2me2: how can invest and not have peace of mind to the extent of protesting against the company's policy. I mean forcing a company to hold their agm on a date that is not comfortable for them all because you want them to quickly receive dividend. By being an investor you are technically a part owner of a company(despite less than 0.1% shareholding ) = a stakeholder as well. U guys don't see it that way.. I am not forcing "a" company.. I am doing my legal part in compelling "my" company. 2) Comfortable dateThe issue at stake is there is an underlying issue which the protesters believe is for FBN to frustrate majority of them from voting against the right issue at the AGM and other decisions of the bank(like new Director approval).. seems before the date, they discovered they(FBN) may not be able to hold the aces and wield decisions in their favour.. You just have to read the full news and article on it not just the image posted on NL. |

Deadlytruth: So are you suggesting that if you happen to buy shares of a company with dividends in view but the situation of the company begins to border on an uncertainty that threatens to erode your very capital, you will stubbornly stay put just because you bought those shares for dividends? The truth I think is that first bank has chosen a stance and the Majority shareholders(minority in numbers) won't want to be overshadowed by the minority shareholders(majority in numbers) who may have majority votes at the AGM... |

Deadlytruth: So are you suggesting that if you happen to buy shares of a company with dividends in view but the situation of the company begins to border on an uncertainty that threatens to erode your very capital, you will stubbornly stay put just because you bought those shares for dividends? I anticipated this reply.. Hence I stated "when the company did not make loss"The company declared profits from my investment so I have a right to vote to determine my dividends.. And if not, they must substantiate with reasons. All these has to happen at the AGM u said I shouldn't care about? |

Deadlytruth: So how exactly does that change the fact that they are free to sell their shares and move on? Those that bought with dividend in mind should just sell at a loss and move on.? when the company did not declare loss... I think First Bank is trying to prevent Chaos in the AGM... Protesting shareholders think First Bank is preventing their grievances from bring heard |

talk2me2: Oga fbnh is a viable company those who don't like the policies of the company should go and sell there shares instead of disrupting the business activities of fbn. Or better still vote against the policy during the AGM. U don't still get it. They are protesting cuz they believe that it's because of their varied opinions FirstBank is postponing the AGM.. They believe First Bank assumes they will have the majority in the votes against Right issue as well as influencing new directors on the board... Hence the sudden postponement of AGM.. |

phoinix: What assertion (I think) is wrong? What you posted there makes absolutely no sense, I wanted to let this matter rest but it seems that you are bent on being schooled.
Most importantly, every investor is the master of their portfolio, meaning it is up to them to decide when to buy or sell their stocks. Irrespective of what ever reason you cook up in your head.
We can give reasonable suggestions, but a line is crossed when you start judging actions, especially after the fact.
Dangsugar could have gone even lower, yes it is one of the possible scenarios that did not play out, the fact that it reversed is not enough reason to start taunting others who sold. It is up to the investor to protect their interests as best as they can based on what they perceive whether wrong or right. Plus the stock is not in the clear yet, the 40.8 billion Naira loss due to currency devaluation is real and not imaginary. Not only that, it will have to jack up prices, because from now on it will source foreign currency at prevailing rates. There is no way it will not affect the bottom line goin forward.
I hope you learnt something from my write up. Actually, that's why I am here.. much better reply this time... |

phoinix: Why are you concerned about people who sold at 24.4/25, and how do you know they are regretting? Did u sell at that price? Are you regretting? The people or person that sold it to me at 17, what should that person do now? I think there is no need for that, it's there money and their choice. If you don't belong to those who bought cuz of merger(first buy I think) and sold at @24/25...cuz of their Result and a certain week meltdown, resulting in Panic. These are the set of people she is referring to(I think) Reason for buying and Reason for selling @bolded above -Clearly defined in her stmt!!These are the set of people who may likely regret it now.. There are of course other personal reasons for selling.. If u don't belong to the bolded, especially buy period and reason for buying, Read and Pass.... |

yMcy56: This ministerial list pala.va, what has it got to do with performance if I may ask? Na just kwesion o...because I don't know. If Minister of Power is a Technocrat with doings and CV accepted by Mr. Market, Then power companies may head North.. If Ministry of mines is someone seen as passionate about minerals and raw materials aside Oil and gas and accepted by Mr. Market . Japaul and the Likes may head North If Finance Minister or CBN substantive head widely accepted by Mr. Market with impressive resume and probably aligned to a particular bank.. Then banking and/or other financial sectors as well as minister/CBN indirect alignment with a bank may shoot sector Northward..(e.g Emefiele n Zenith) Otherwise heading south. The Ministers interface with the CEOs of these companies for contract award amongst others.. Their Alliance and Competence can be key and sway things... Get the drift? |

customstreet: The first one she bought N5.5m was through FBN Quest, primary market and it appeared on her CSCS
The second one she bought N8.9m was through Molten Trust Ltd, primary market and also appeared on her CSCS what I think PA Emma is trying to say is: They are investment houses and brokers , hence can appear in CSCS.. But if bought through The banks(Stanbic bank, etc) , they won't automatically appear on your CSCS portfolio, unless you authorize the bank through writing... Also, Most Banks also have the advantage of being more liquid than investment houses(e.g Fnnquest, etc) when one chooses to sell his/her bonds before maturity as the banks tend to easily find a willing buyer who is ready to accept your discount rate than the Investment houses you mentioned amongst others too. *I hope I understood correctly |

This acquisition didn’t happen 3 months ago, I believe this happened like a year ago, and they are still having issues with consolidating accounts? Looks very unprofessional abeg, now that they have been suspend, did they put out a press release to address this? I don’t think so.
200 billion Naira company acting like some under bridge operation. Correct. Acquisition happened last year. They actually put out a press release in May.. https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/38517_PRESCO_PLC-CORPORATE_DISCLOSURE_CORPORATE_ACTIONS_MAY_2023.pdf |

Hopefully there is no mago mago going on They bought over a rival local subsidiary SIAT Nigeria Limited (SNL) with over 15000hectares of oil palm also in Rivers state(Elele and one other).. The issue is in delay of reconciliation and consolidation of the finances of this subsidiary into a single financial statement as PRESCO |
