Today I am in a very good mood after listening to God's words as preached by my great Pastor who happens to be a wonderful Yoruba man.

Now back to the topic; how Tinubu should have handled the fuel subsidy removal for a better Nigeria.



Being a diehard Obidient and an Apostle of God-sent leader to rescue Nigeria from leadership quagmire, Mr Peter Obi, I want to give out just a single tip out of the many of how Tinubu should have handled the removal of fuel subsidy and Nigeria wouldn't have been in a disaster it is in today as a nation.


Before I reveal this tip, sometimes I wonder if Tinubu does not have smart thinking economic experts that should have guided him or was it that Tinubu refused to listen to good counsels just to feel like Jagaban that his followers call him that always mislead him by making his head swell.



Removing fuel subsidy at one go wasn't so smart but removing the whole fuel subsidy at once and taking the money saved from the removal of fuel subsidy to share with state Governors was a very terrible mistake from Tinubu. I suspect he did it to win state Governors to his side ahead of a second tenure contest.


If this method was wrong, how then should Tinubu have done it?


Tinubu should have removed the subsidy and then take out 30% and share with the crooked state Governors and used the remaining 70% to remit into our foreign reserve which would have helped Nigerian Naira currency to gain value agains the dollar and other foreign currencies, with this, inflation would have stayed low and petrol price per liter would have remained around 750 Naira per liter.


How you may ask?


If Tinubu had used the money saved from fuel subsidy removal to build up our foreign reserve, Naira would have gained value and stayed at $1 = NGN680 at most, and with this exchange rate, petrol pump price per liter in Nigeria will be around NGN750 to NGN800 at most.


With this, inflation would have remained low in Nigeria and Nigeria's economy wouldn't have been this damaged.




He can still make a u-turn, if you are close to him, share this idea with him.


I am sharing this information because of my love for God and because of the poor Nigerian masses

What a revelation, tinubu met foreign reserves at 33 billion usd and brought it down to 5 billion usd that is why. oh, it is 50 billion usd now, i thought it is 5 billlion usd.

Talk is cheap, and any nuissssancee can provide "solutions", the devil is in the details.

Our budget this year is: 68 trillion naira

Actual revenue available to fund this budget is : 33 trillion naira
Deficit: 35 trillion naira...and to cover that deficit, that is where the loans come in.

Yes, oil revenue rose, but remember that we have a debt of about 150 trillion naira to pay for.


People like to abuse me on this site and call me agbadoe, but if it was Peter Obi, or Atiku in charge, based on what I know, I would give them the same advice. We all shout that we want government to stop borrowing, but when it comes to measures to stop borrowing, we suddenly become allergic to good advice


Tinubu is a bad leader, and I am not voting for him next year, by the way.


Nigeria has had this deficit problem for decades. Everytime earnings do not meet up with the budget, meaning we have to borrow. This is because of the fact that we rely on resources WHOSE PRICES WE DO NOT SET. We cannot set oil above the international price to fund our budget because our buyers will go and meet the cheaper option. Back when we had cotton, cocoa, palm oil, same thing. (Ghana some years ago raised prices of its cocoa to meet up with budget funding and buyers went to other countries, Nigeria included, to buy cheaper stuff).

Most of the rich and poor do not pay taxes, only people in formal employment pay PAYE taxes, and revenue from VAT was about 8 trillion naira , plus revenue from bank charges was around 4 trillion naira...for this budget.

And the 68 trillion naira is not enough for a nation of 230 million people. You can abuse me, but we are too big for the budget. And that budget is the money available before stealing and looting happens.

Y'all can abuse me, but we have to face cold reality.

Either we start listening to the IMF and fighting corruption, as well as improving taxation, or else, even if we vote Obi tomorrow, as i hope we all do, or Atiku tomorrow, or even Sowore, I guarantee that our debt would be 800 trillion naira in eight years time.

If una no wan hear, then that means you should stop complaining about borrowing, because refusal to support improved taxation and anti-corruption measures means you support borrowing.

Again, I am voting for Obi next year, and in reality, I don't care about all your politicans. IF Obi fails, out he goes in four years, and so forth, until we get sane leadership. Maybe we go wait till the debt is 10000 trillion naira before we get our own MIlliei and LKY...it took Argentina to get into such severe debt that it was defaulting on payments, for them to wake up. Now their currency is strong and fiscal performance better, and eventually other areas will improve.

If there is one president capable of truly fixing Nigeria's income problem, it is Tinubu. Before voting Obi, look at his antecedent of increasing IGR in 8 freaking years by only 20%(2006-2014). you are asking a F- student to replace a C student because you want A student. Obi is a miserly, which is not what we need. A man earning 100,000 naira with 8 kids and 2 wives real need is not to begin to find ways to cut spending and save money, he has to be on an aggressive hunt to increase his income geometrically, although he also needs to cut cost regardless. I understand your sentiment about income, and i have the same believe. Nigerians are so fixated on how large politicians live that they dont realise how measly our income is compared to our infrastructural need, and i know why.

Your list is hard not to agree with, although any african team at this world cup deserve to be supported to win, while we look beyond the in house rivalry. I wish to see a situation 80% of african representatives make it to the second round of the world cup at the very least. It is a collective shame to have 10 representatives and only 2 maybe goes past the first round. Morocco getting to the semifinal at the last worldcup had only won an african nations cup in 1976, and was not necessarily seen as a big strength in top 5 african teams based on antecedents. Who knows if Cape Verde will make Africa proud at this world cup?

African teams tend to have a weak mentality at most world cup showoffs, and below optimal in performance, this i feel is a bigger differential with Asian teams. African teams more often than Asian teams have way bigger stars. Qatar forced a draw with Switzerland yesterday, S/Korea also won their game against Czech, Australia won as well. Asian teams in 3 games, have won 2 and drawn 1.

We should rally around ALL african teams at the world stage. i was ashamed to see a top journalist on TV acting and speaking as a troll.

I think Nigerians are taking it to far, I am for all african teams doing well at the world cup. Asia is now rated higher than Africa in the world cup, because we underperform consistently. Whether Morroco, SA, DRC ooooo, i want everyone to do well, and not myopic. Africa is underrepresented at the world cup, when we compare we are 54 countries, compared to other continents. The differential has been reduced with this world cup , moving it from 5 to (9+1), and we must justify that increase and show what we have got and make a case for more, requesting an increase to possibly 12 out of 48 teams. In 2018, no african team of 5 went past the first round of the world cup. In 2022, 1 african team made to Semi and 1 to the secound round ( the best average african performanceat the world cup till date), we must get better.

I am happy the personality of Peter Obi is shining through all. Obi is no bridge builder and can not galvanise zilch. He is a necessary candidate though. I am almost tempted to believe he is working for Tinubu, even though i know that is not a possibility. Peter Obi will be an Utmost disaster as a President, and i am gifted enough to see through certain people. I predicted his 6 million votes in 2023 election even while not supporting him.

These people never cease to amaze me.. So primitive. Imagine trying to attack him in Lagos, even without power. Only slow people will not see what this thugs will do with little power in their hands.

This is a practical solution, as Nigerians and politicians can discuss problems from morning to night, but no practical solution.

I feel, it will help, but may not predominantly fix the current prevalent security challenges

Nigeria is bigger than your village, it has over 230million people. You are likely a kid with internet access.

The major solution may appear antidemocratic, but it is the only way forward. No more grazing of cows in the forest, and no fulani settlements should be allowed in those forests as well, any one caught is presumed a kidnapper and will be treated as such.

Time has almost run out for Nigeria to reverse its current economic decline. It will likely get much worse if we don't do something drastic.

The recent breakthroughs with AI will soon hit Nigeria and Africa hard in general with job losses, as multinationals and large companies (even smaller ones) adopt automation and find other ways to handle customer care and service delivery.

Nigeria needs leaders who can stir it in a new direction and drastically reduce wasteful government spending.

Nigeria is not on an economic decline, it is only in your head. Nigeria just had its fastest quarterly gdp growth in 13 years. None of the blockieeeheads currently frontliners are anything close to the current president. Even with Naira liberalisation and deregulation that saw a near convergence of exchange rate across all markets and saved Nigeria from collapse, the Nigeria economy is growing. The tax reform act, the fuel subsidy removal, Dangote's refinery expansion and naira liberalisation, State police control of local security ongoing reform that is at advanced stage are some of the jokers that will continue to provide an uptick to Nigeria's economy. Nigeria's macroeconomy is progressing , even though there is a strain at the micro economy for many reasons including faster population increase and low income per capita, entrenched corruption within the average Nigerian.

No one should give presidency to those who wants to pander to some understandably shortsighted Nigerians. We have crossed the rubicon.

The easiest job in the world is to talk about myriad of problems, but very few have PRACTICAL solutions to these problems.

I shudder about how these aggressive lots will live if these thugs , and almost certainly obidients lay their filthy hands on power.

I stopped feeling bad when i see things like this. I am not numb to it but i realize that the solution is something we the people are not ready for. If i say targeted assassination of egregiously corrupt politicians will fix some things, most Nigerians would criticize you for even thinking of something like that.

eveytime politician, politician, we always want to blame others and not check inwards about doing our personal job well. Who arrested a young boy of 14 and did not do any tracing? who was appointed to head the child remand home that did not do due dilligence? who were the officers seeing a 14 year old boy and did not make any effort to see him put in a mental home or at least sought the help of the regional tv's within the state to locate parents or guardian.

Government is making less than the budget, and some borrowing plans already included in the budget.

In simple lay man terms, if i plan to spend 100,000 in a year , and hope i will make 70,000 and then borrow 30,000 to make up the shortfall.


If i then begin to borrow the 30,000, then someone then wakes up to scream blue murder, it suggest they were stipid or indocile when the budget was prepared. Also, there is no guarantee i will make 70,000, i could end up making 55,000 , that suggest a shortfall of 15,000.


Nigeria has a serious income problem ! when compared to its population and infrastructural needs.

There is so much social engineering by terrible and ineffectual opposition politicians with no new ideas to deceive the very gullible populace.

I also believe the NA should begin to seriously reduce proposed budgets and make it realistic with the more realistic income profile, even though the current government is obvously taking steps to increase its income.

It is not solely the amount of debt, it is the ability to service the debt. Nigeria was using 97% of income to service the debt at some point, and it is now down to 60% or thereabout. The opposition is using social engineering on gullible nigerians. I am more interested to see geometric growth in Nigeria's income and ultimately a sizable increase in capacity to service the debt.

It will take a stupiiiiiddd leader to decide against not borrowing in the midst of terrible infrastructures.

Nigerians want infrastructure of the whole of south Africa, but a budget of Zambia. Confused lots. I will be glad to hear the opposition criticise the current government inability to deepen its income, but all i hear is the shallow debt concerns or since it remove subsidy why borrow?

Nigeria is saving about 10 thrillion naira annually from removing fuel subsidy, but budget annually from 2023 to 2026 has increased by over 30 thrillion naira, yet it is still the redundant , hare brained question of why borrow since it removed subsidy?
