Depriest2020:

In 1999 no party could claim to be a major political party, cause all party then was in formative stage. It was after the huge victory of the PDP that they became a major political party. So Obasanjos loss of his home state in '99 won't count.

Don't tell me Obi didn't have effect in the North in the past election if you're not living in the North here, we know all what happened, the same dislike and disenchantment the north had for PDP in 2015 was what they had for the APC in 2023, they didn't bother to vote APC not cared who the Igbo's and the northern christians voted for like the Yoruba's did in Lagos. For the first time the Igbo's, the northern christians and apolitical northernern weren't scared to go out and vote their choices.
you are manufacturing BS to defend the indefensible.

The 1999 presidential election had 2 top presidential candidates from PDP and AD. You have a right to your opinion but not misappropriating facts.

Till tomorrow, LP is yet to provide its own votes tally in any of the northern states that shows it won or at least had substantial votes. Your argument is simply emotional and saying the disenchantment northerners had for PDP in 2015 was what they had for APC in 2023 is comparing apples with oranges and you can attest APC still won most of the 2023 governorship election in the North, likewise the federal legislative and state house of assembly elections.

The 2023 presidential election was one of the best we ever had. The argument of IRev portal delay in upload was more about transparency and the past elections had none of such features yet were declared free and fair. 2023 election was quite hard to rig and the best. Many top candidates lost because of the quality of the new feature- BVAS.

One state was a clear fraud by the way, and that is Rivers State. It always produce fraudulent results since 1999, only that this time the fraudulent votes was the least ever courtesy of BVAS and IRev. The best way to rig was by vote swapping and manipulating numbers on the result sheet. It was so hard and so evident that rigging took place. In 2015 , Rivers state presidential election produced roughly 1.5 million votes for PDP. Akwa ibom had 1.1 million votes, Delta 1.2 million votes e.t.c because of a loophole allowing votes to be supplied via incident forms. I am not faulting PDP winning those states, but the votes were largely inflated and this usually matters in a presidential election.

If the the real results are recounted and not the doctored one it might, no top presidential candidate has ever lost his state, the outgoing president of the country who belongs to same party with him lost his state, his campaign director lost his state, he lost the 3 state with the highest registered voters in the north, lost the FCT, my brother no miracle will have made him win the election without riging.
Obasanjo lost in Ogun state woefully in 1999 presidential election, he lost at his polling unit sef to Falae. He only won at the 2003 presidential election
It is this ridiculous assumption that make you believe Obi won.

Presidential election is strategy of votes not necessarily states won. Use 2 states of Lagos and Osun alone to determine who had the highest votes of the top 3 candidates. Tinubu will win meanwhile he lost Osun state to Atiku and Lagos to Obi. Obi had no impact in the core Northern state except southern Kaduna, he was destined to fail.

Last years candidate with the highest Jamb score was 362, i guessed she simply took a cue and forged it to an exact score. She is quite aggressive with performance and getting result which have its pros and cons. She has to confess she doctored the result and seek forgiveness from JAMB.

i struggle to see where i wrote accent. Articulate and accent are two different things if you are yet to know.
I paid attention to her choice of words and concord for a supposed exceptional student and i struggle to find a correlation. I am not one to quickly stereotype, i do quite well judging a situation.

She may as well use the thickest ibotic accent and still be quite articulate. Accent is more a product of your environment and how tonal your mother tongue you speak is, it reflects when you speak.

N.B you don,t have to speak English to be exceptional, but considering she is Nigerian in Nigeria and not quite articulate enough for a gifted academic scholar, i have doubts.

What was her o levels performance? Anything less than 8 distinctions will most likely imply she has the wrong score at 362

She isn't as articulate enough for a candidate that scored 362, while that may just be quality of her early education as i have noticed for most people.

Simple truth.

if Lagos and Osun states alone were the decider of who becomes Nigeria's president, Tinubu won.

The simple logic flies over many obedients head as they will Chorus Obi won Lagos and Atiku won Osun state, how can Tinubu get the most votes?

Nigeria's presidential election is a game of strategy, it is not necessarily by the highest number of states won, especially in a more than 2 horse race.

Which results exactly are you using to base your argument? The real one or the fake one announced by INEC?

You're not even making sense by saying you can lose all states in Nigeria and still win the election. If you lose all states, that means another candidate won those states, so how do you end up winning? Oh, I forgot, through INEC selection!

Tinubu was also announced as winner of Rivers State, but today, the actual result shows that Obi won Rivers overwhelmingly! Same story in Benue, Akwa Ibom etc. Even Lagos, Obi won with a higher margin than was credited to him. If INEC could do all these evil manipulations in states where Obi has overwhelming majority of supporters, why won't they do even worse in Kaduna where it is 50:50?!

You know the truth, just like every other objective Nigerian, but you will still come online to say anything just to support Tinubu.
he is right, but it is flying over your head. In a two horse race, you can not afford to lose all state. In a 4 horse race, you can lose all states and still win the highest votes cast while still meeting the 25% in 24 states. Tinubu won 12 of 20 local governments in lagos and still loss to Obi with 8 local governments win.

Nigeria's presidential election does not run electoral college like in the US.

Critical and logical reasoning is weak in most youths, it somehow depicts poor educational foundation.
Politics / Re: Southeast Voting Pattern Since 1999 (picture) by chinchum(m): 10:32am On Jun 07, 2023
Penguin2:
Since the end of the 2023 general elections where result from the Southeast showed that the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the election, Peter Obi, scored about 98% of votes cast in the region, opposition party supporters have accused the region of turning in such voting pattern because Peter Obi is Igbo. They accuse the region of not giving votes to other candidates.

But are their allegations true or mischievous and outrightly malicious?

To answer the above question we need to take a retrospective look at how the Southeast has always voted since 1999.

In 1999, the Southeast voted Obasanjo only.
In 2003, the Southeast voted Obasanjo only again.
In 2007, the Southeast voted Yaradua only.
In 2011, the Southeast voted Jonathan only.
In 2015, the Southeast voted Jonathan only again.
In 2019, the Southeast voted Atiku only.
And then, in 2023, the Southeast voted Peter Obi only.

From the above, you can clearly see that over the years, once the Southeast people choose a candidate they vote in one direction for that candidate without splitting their votes.

Again, since 1999, 2023 is the only time they voted for a candidate from the region. Other times they have always voted non-Igbos.

Just so we get a better perspective of what we are talking about, in 2003, Ojukwu ran for the presidency under APGA but the Southeast didn’t vote for him.

In that same 2003, Buhari had an Igbo running mate but the Southeast didn’t vote for him.

In 2007, Orji Uzor Kalu ran for the presidency under PPA but the Southeast didn’t vote for him.

In that same year, Buhari once again chose an Igbo running mate but the Southeast didn’t vote for him.

Still in the same 2007, Atiku had an Igbo running mate, Ben Obi, but the southeast still didn’t vote for him.

The Southeast voted for Yaradua instead. Yaradua was from the Northwest and had an Ijaw man from the Southsouth but the Southeast voted for him over other tickets that had Igbos on them.

Then, the only one time Igbos voted an Igbo man, they have been called tribalists and whatever names.

And the question is why?
ibos voted Orji uzor Kalu from PPA in the highly compromised 2007 election. PPA also produced 2 governors in Abia and Imo state.

You can make big adjustment with the big expenses. 60,000 on electricity, can you explore solar panels? Make phcn a back up if possible. Until your side gig(s) improves, when your rent expires, you may downsize by at least 25%. Cut social gathering at least 25%. Get a reliable and honest mechanic to reduce car service cost. Car pool occassionally with work colleague if possible. Increase the budget for your health to at least 10,000 monthly depending on your age. Eat out less and avoid junk foods. Learn how to cook if you cant cook and ensure you cook when necessary to reduce cost of feeding by at least 25%.
Politics / Re: Atedo Peterside: Tinubu Was Wrong To Say The 2023 Election Is The Best ever by chinchum(m): 11:02am On May 30, 2023
2023 election is the best. I agree with that assertion. In 2015 , Rivers state declared 1.5 million votes for Jonathan, i bet less than 800,000 voted for him. Delta state declared 1.4 million. Akwa ibom was 1.2 million votes.

2023 election gave almost accurate number of voters, with minimal rigging. Rivers state was the most brazen rigging in this 2023 but with low numbers. BVAS and IRev made rigging extremely difficult.

The tough decisions should be dealt with in less than 6 months ( removal of fuel subsidy and exchange rate unification)

Aggressive approach to implementation of power transmission projects e.g siemens deal to be fully implemented in less than 18 months. 100% implementation of prepaid meters across Nigeria in 18 months.

Rejig the security architecture in less than 6 months. Crush ISWAP/bokoharam and Niger delta militants.

Increase oil production to at least 2 million barrels per day in 12 months. Theft of crude oil to be reduced.

Revisit the Oronsaye report, and implement major part of the report to improve civil service in less than 12 months.

Renewed focus on primary and secondary schools, unity schools to be transferred to state govts, while allowing tertiary institutions increased autonomy. Massive student grants and loans for indigent but brilliant students.

The ridiculous story that players in Nigerian junior teams vanish after the competitions while players from other junior teams flourish is just absolute crock and it is not backed by facts.

Some players from junior teams will flourish after the competition and some will vanish. It's the way it has always been for all teams. It's not peculiar to Nigeria.

It's just one of those stories that Nigerians like to tell and repeat, even though it's not backed by facts.

There are very many Nigerian players that took part in junior competitions and went on to achieve great success at both club level and senior national team level for a long time after those competitions, just as there are many foreign players that achieved great success at cadet level and fizzled out afterwards. These are caused by a variety of factors and it happens everywhere.
This is apt. Ighalo for example played all age grades for Nigeria, i think Osimhen as well.
