Why can't goverment retrain these people and license them to make there operational legal to enable NIGERIANS have essess of petroleum products.

Hence it's now established that those people called illegal refinery operators can produce those products, I think goverment should give them amnesty internationally for training and retraining to enable the country in the nearest future produce All this things locally than spending huge amount of money in importing it.

I left..!
Enough of this asinine suggestion. Government must obliterate any oil pipeline vandal who set up illegal refinery by bombing them at site.

operators of Illegal refineries are pipeline vandals, economic saboteurs, environmental pollutionists, and murderers.

The oil refined from there will "knock" your car by the way.

Did he cultivate Anambra to feed Anambra state during his tenure? Enough of all these stupidd rhetoric jare.

What stop a governor from cultivating at least major food crops to feed its state.

Mr Niger state can feed the whole of the world.

Talk is cheap. Obasanjo even recommended we start taking lessons on inflation from Zimbabwe , a country with inflation at almost 50% an increase from early 40% in January 2024 .

Anyone can say we can feed the world.

@ Op, was there willful damage of properties? If yes, she should show remorse to her "husband" and apologise and thereafter excuse herself from the marriage. She may have to payback what was destroyed. All the pre marital life story is a distraction and mostly irrelevant to the accusation on ground.

Talk is cheap. Zimbabwe's inflation rate in February 2024 is 47.6%

Has Zimbabwe fixed its galloping inflation considering it is at almost 50% and Nigeria is at 30%.

Ok. Wait until they make it N50,000. Or better still, go write IELTS with your 280k. Some faculties are giving it out for free, but I do not think it will be for long.

Go to the University Senate and tell them to make it free in all faculties and department. That's the right way to start.
Start your complaint from there. #50,000 to write a template letter is greed. Don't be surprised it is now 100,000.
Less than 12 months ago IELTS was less than #100,000

British scammers.

Ensure you get a letter of English proficiency from your School Faculty or Department after you graduate and use it in your school or migration applications. Where that is not applicable, write PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo. They are cheaper. I want to see this criminal IELTS scammers lose money.

Nigeria is a Commonwealth country. English has remained the official language of ways and means of interaction and business for 100 years. We should not be writing these exams which are purely meant to swindle hapless and desperate Nigerians seeking greener pastures.

I wrote it once in 2016 and got a band 8 in almost all criteria and never used it. It has since expired while I have gone on to acquire a Master's degree. It cost me only N10,000 to get a letter of English proficiency from my Department. I will NEVER pay for IELTS again. I will be facing my US applications. The UK and Canada are not on my list.
who ever collected #10,000 to write a letter of English proficiency in your college dept. is also a scammer.

We are no different than the people whe accuse.

why should there be tough times in "at least in his first 18 months"?

who is responsible for causing the tough times or do tough times just happen without anybody causing it to happen?

take note of what you said..."at least". that means 18months is the minimum time for the "tough times" you predicted. the maximum time for the tough times has no limit. it can stretch for as long as possible. if that is the case, how do you now claim that "He is half way now"?

what are the "signs that the economy is not trending downwards"?

what are the "sprouts of growth by the end of this year and beginning of next year" that you say you will see?
when you hear removal of subsidy, does that sound like decrease in price of petroleum products?
Will a sharp increase in price of petroleum products translate to reduction in price of good and services?

Will removal of petrol subsidy cause more Nigerians to party?

He has spent 9 months in power, in another 9 months will Dangote refinery, Port Harcourt refinery e.t. be producing petrol at appreciable output to cushion the effect of Nigeria sourcing forex to import petroleum products?

Does Nigeria's daily production of over 1.55million barrels of oil at the moment from 1.3million barrels about 9 months ago sound like a decrease?

What are the chances foreign investors set up shop on day 1 of a new administration making policies to attract them?

What are the odds that federal government workers will begin to earn appreciably better than they are currently earning in the 9 month?

What are the chances that more Nigerians will make adjustment to spend more on needs than profligacy in another 9 months?

When he won in March 2023, I predicted tough time at least in his first 18 months. He is half way now, there must be signs that the economy is not trending downwards by then and we are beginning to see sprouts of growth by the end of this year and beginning of next year.

I remember when my mum was at Brussels North station one rainy night, and she was shocked to see lots of homeless people sleeping in tents at the train station. She was now asking me, why didn't these people just go back home?

Both whites, blacks, and middle easterners, are all sleeping, and the NGO gives them food every day. So tell me, is that a good life? of course not.

There are lots of people in Nigeria that are doing great, and they are living well. I do rent Airbnb in Lagos sometimes, and the kind of mansion I see, mehn, their life is way better than those in the west.

Japa is not an achievement. It is just a location change.

You are comparing two extremes and that is your fallacy.

The poorest of the poor in 1st world countries vs richest of the rich in 3rd world countries.

That homeless guy in Brussel with close to certainty will not be wealthy in his home country.

Even biblical events shows myriad of examples that migration meant the migrant achieves the next level. Some migration were divinely inspired.

Infact leaving your "hometown" where you grewup is called a lifehack.

Family / Re: My 13 Years Old Has Become Terrible! I Want To Send Her Back To Nigeria by chinchum(m): 5:08pm On Feb 24
Mrperfecto:
I will just be brief without writing too much.

We are based we have 4 children, my first child is 13 from my previous relationship, she has become very terrible, she doesn't listen to me or my wife. She tells her that she is not her biological mother and she cannot control her. She had threatened to call the police on my wife telling her if she touch her she will fight her back and call the police. She goes to school and closes at 3.45 her school is 10 mins walk from home, but she is always late for home.

She comes home around 6 sometimes 7pm , as I am writing now every friday she closes at 12.30 but she is still hasn't come back home yet.

I am on my way to work. I start at 6.30pm till 2.30am so I rarely get to see her and she only misbehaving when I am not around. So far we have seized her phone because we had found so many inappropriate messages exchanges between her and boys. We had also removed the TV from her room and her behaviour has gotten worse. She is behaving like she's possessed.

My wife and I are fed up. Even her siblings are tired of her. We want to send her back to Nigeria maybe in a boarding school until she is 18 in order to protect her younger ones. If we keep her and she continues with her terrible behaviour I may beat her badly and we may end up loosing all 4 children to the authorities.

Please what advice will you give to me concerning this issue?
Start some baby steps.
1. Going forward, school ends at 3:45pm, pick her up at closing of school which should be about 3 minutes drive from your house. You have time since you don't resume at work till 6:30pm

2. Take only her out on a date possibly a weekend to a nice restaurant and have a relaxing gist about life generally. Provide reminiscent stories of life for you growing up.

3.Switch suddenly when back in the car going back home from the father-daughter date with a stern but worried look asking her if she is aware of your special love. Tell her to confide in you her concerns.

4. Tell her she is not abnormal and you understand her challenges as she is transitioning to puberty. Buy her books on teenage self awareness and understanding their body.

5. Set up the father and daughter date at least once in a month.

6. Do this for at least 6 months.

SE were emotionally spent after the South africa game. The semi final win celebration was more than a final and i was deeply worried thereafter. I knew something was wrong, it showed in the quality of our players yesterday.

The coach got his starting formation wrong in the first half starting Chukwueze as well, He had a life line in the second half, but tarried to make the changes. At the end of 1st half in yesterday's game, if ivory coast was leading 2-0, it would have been justified as the pressure was so much and we were soaking it in badly, but fate gave us an unusual 1-0 lead after first half. WE BUNDLED IT. Most finals end 1-0 or even 0-0.

I believe we now have a workable formation going forward during our away games world cup qualifiers at the very least.

Sorry to say but this Ahmed Musa has no shame. Shamelessness mixed with selfishness and greed.

It is already clear that he is as useful to the team as the "ueue" in "Queue" yet he insists on taking up a team slot and collecting bonuses and allowances for doing nothing. The classic Third-world leaders' Sit-tight mentality. Tufiakwa.

If his motivational speech is so important to the team, what stops him from paying visits to the team camp and talking with the players from time to time or sending his advice via zoom calls or WhatsApp voice notes? Must he take up a team slot?

If na so Kanu and co take do, would he (Musa) have gotten a chance to play for the SE in the first place?

Nonsense and legend.
Much ado about nothing.

In a 25 man team for a tourney, how many end up playing? May be 19 or 20. At least 5 will never play. You think teams are formed on the pitch only?

I have a premonition the match will be one way with a wide margin and it could go both ways.

What is the fitness status of Osimhen, Zaidu, Nwabali e.t.c ?

This is the time the SE should give their 101%, it is the last game of the tourney. I really hope Ekong can speak and galvanise the team mentally. The celebration by the SE after the Semis and the media noise seems excessive in my opinion, i guess it was because we won against SA.

I hope all those heavy with criticism on Zaidu can see how far with Osayi. Osimhen seems tired and may be truly not match fit judging by his work rate in the first half. Lookman needs to have more ball on his legs at the final third

some people like fantasy a lot. They fantasise about all sort of needless experiments. How can anyone even suggest dropping Osimhen on the bench for any other bench SE striker at AFCON.?

1 goal and 2 assist at this AFCON.

I am one of the biggest critique of Peseiro, but the moment I noticed he has introduced an ultra defensive tactics that ensure we don't concede unneccasry goal at this tourney while still creating goal chances, I gave him my support.

It's not their fault that they live in a place where the 10 dollars you send can get them a luxury it can't afford you over there. If you look at it, you still spend the bulk of your money more than them because you send them chingum money that can't take you a week but spend thousands of what you send to them here for yourself. So how are they enjoying more than you?
Person go just dey begin calculate the small 100 dollars ( wey be like 100 naira to am) wey him dey send say e too much. Small prayers wey you for receive for sending a meager 100 dollars, you now lose it because of over calculations.

It's this wicked mentality that is making many of you to be stingy. It's very bad. If they have the opportunity to be there like you, I'm sure they won't ask you for anything.

Keep your money. Those in naija go still shine and fresh pass una because we eat real natural organic food and get natural Vit D year round.
You guys wait. It's only a matter of time, we will soon have good govt and nobody will send you and your lonely lives abroad anymore.

Very stingy people.
Thinking 100 dollars is like 100 naira is the stupid ridiculous thinking some Nigerians with entitled mentality from their family in Diaspora have.

90% of Nigerian diaspora in top western countries do not earn $5,000 /month after tax. That amount is like 80,000usd per annum before tax.

Is $5,000 like 5000 naira in your warped thinking?

Some of you will even start pressing calculator and converting to Naira like the individual will pay most of their bills with Naira.
