Stay there and keep contemplating and the same time be listening to the advice of single ladies, until one lil girl with sharp nipples will come out from nowhere, give him a strong d0ggy and he will forget ever asking you to move in with him undecided
If this was your daughter or sister will you keep the same energy to provide guidance.

@Op, do not move in yet.

I actually don't have a problem with non natives involving themselves with politics in Lagos and I am sure lots of people don't.

The Ndigbo HOR guy absolutely spoilt it for everyone else. Was it so difficult to at least spread the cake, not just including Ndi Yoruba who own the place, but across Ndi South South and Ndi Hausa too?

Now you have awakened the natives who will send you packing from your post and ensure an Ndi Yoruba, no matter how poor they are to you, take over.

Kai, Nigerians. We must sha show that we lack sense when it comes to long term gain over short term gain.
I am not surprised one bit about the behaviour of the HOR member, it is a familiar pattern with the people from that area, and it can even be extended to their fellow ibos not from the same state, i don;t know of any tribe that clannish. Someone said the man may even be doing this empowerment to only IMO state origin ibos suggesting the man is from Imo state.

What surprises me is how they try to think they are playing smart and request what they WILL never offer. I will gladly vote a SS/NE/NC/NW man with better integrative values in SW than any SE . They barely assimilate the values of the SW, but see such political position as a conquest in their shallow mind and then wants to gloat. While these character is not in everyone, but it can be seen in majority.

Well the world as change I and my partner are both AS, I had run the test to confirm if our baby is AS or SS or AA. We have to do the test when the pregnancy was 8 to 13 weeks old. The test cost 550k. We lucky enough our baby is AS. I will upload thr test result later if you really doubt. This. AS and AS can Marry.
I agree. There are ways around it for those that can afford it. There is also an ethical angle to it, in the 25% chance the fetus is SS. Will the couple be willing to go through with taking out the fetus? if they are not willing to take out a fetus, they can go through a more costly option of IVF + sampling of chromosomes to guarantee the fetus will not be SS.

I saw someone said it cost about Naira 500,000 to get CVS/amniontensis done in Nigeria. That seems like an amount many cant afford, or if they can afford it, they may not be willing to undergo a d&c in the 25% chance fetus is SS

The least number of sickle cell children the woman would have is zero. While there is a 25% chance for each child to inherit sickle cell disease, these probabilities are independent for every individual pregnancy. This means that the outcome of one child does not influence the next.Key Probability BreakdownIndependent Events: Each of the 4 pregnancies has its own 25% risk, similar to flipping a coin; having one result doesn't change the odds for the next flip.Best Case Scenario: There is a 75% chance for each child to be born either completely unaffected (AA) or as a carrier (AS).Range of Outcomes: It is statistically possible for all four children to be born without sickle cell disease (0 kids), just as it is possible for all four to have it (4 kids), or any number in between

same thing. Means if she has 4 kids at least one would be ss
No, not same thing.

i explained it to you just now, try to learn it with my example. A pregnant woman has 50% chance of giving birth to a boy and 50% chance of giving birth to a girl, if i use your "same thing" analogy then the first 2 children of women should all be boy and girl
HealthRe: Couple Who are AS AS Genotype Ignore Doctor's Advice, Got Married by chinchum(m): 10:45pm On May 09
bazoodo:
which means if they have 4 kids one will be ss
Not necessarily, all might be SS. The probability a pregnant woman will give birth to a boy is 50%, assuming she has not tested for gender yet. However, she may get pregnant 4 times and give birth to all 4 girls. If you understand it that way, then it is easy to understand that the probability of AS mother with AS partner to have SS child is 25%. She even have the same probability of giving birth to AA child as the same as SS child.

Okay, but others are included. Taraba road work may not be connecting, but Niger state will connect and work has not stopped on at least 3 states. This is a project proposed during Shagari ,but commenced in 2024. We have information easily now on our fingertips and it can be validated.

Sokoto-Badagry that is still in Lagos.
Work is multifronts, not that you care because you only want to criticise. i dont know all, but i know of Lagos,Ogun state, Taraba, Kebbi and Sokoto. i bet there are other states ongoing that are a section of the Lagos - Sokoto road.. The initiative means the roads will connect themselves gradually in your eyes while you are still criticising.

PoliticsRe: ‘why Are We Still Borrowing After Subsidy Removal?’ – Sanusi Queries FG by chinchum(m): 3:25pm On Apr 27
Unintelligent take, if he genuinely believes we don't need to borrow because we removed subsidy. Nigeria is a low income economy and barely borderline middle income economy with 240 million people living in that country. It will need to continue borrowing to fund its large infrastructural deficit, and as this deficit is closed up, it should translate to development and income expansion as such she must firmly move in to middle income zone and beyond.. High income economy has not stopped borrowing, it is Nigeria that should stop?

GEJ's conference was doomed to fail at the parliament. I like practical leaders, many are still blinded and yet to realise Tinubu is the closest to achieving anything close to deep restructuring.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu’s Missing Reform: Where Is Restructuring? by chinchum(m): 6:51pm On Apr 20
Deep end restructuring in Nigeria maybe possible with a one party state, even at that, it is not guaranteed. Tinubu knows what he is doing, and he will be gun ablazing in his 2nd term. I know his abilities and certain he will win his 2nd term. He has done 90% of what i expected in 3 years of his first term.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria Keeps On Borrowing; $6B Debt As Borrowing Surge Continues by chinchum(m): 3:44pm On Apr 18
casualobserver:
I saw a brilliant interview by Bolaji Balogun (I think)

Our current infrastructure (roads, airports, sea ports etc) was built when our GDP was $10-40b. If you look at our current infrastructure, they were built in the 60s-80s. Apapa port was built in 1913 and last modernized in the 1970s, Tin Can was built in the 1980s, MMA was built in the 1970s. Our current GDP is ~$350B and we have a stated objective to grow it to $1T. We are not going to achieve that with infrastructure designed for a $40b economy and a population less then 60m. Even our current $350b economy is already straining the infrastructure built for at best a $100b economy. If you dont have the cash and are credit worthy enough to secure infrastructure loans, you must borrow. It would be criminal not to.

It’s the main reason why Lagos is outpacing other states. It has the highest debt, it borrows for trains, deep sea ports etc and it’s GDP grows whereas those regional states who see borrowing as heresy see mass exodus of their industries and professionals leaving their states occupied by native doctors farmers and okada riders. A lot of Lagos residents would willingly exit Lagos if only states would have the vision to borrow to build the infrastructure necessary to attract them.
someone that understands. It reeks of small mindedness to not want to borrow with such weak infrastructures. We have to deepen the economy and attract more development that will expand revenue/income.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria Keeps On Borrowing; $6B Debt As Borrowing Surge Continues by chinchum(m): 3:40pm On Apr 18
Even US have not stopped borrowing and over 40 thrillion us dollars in debt., yet keep increasing its debt ceiling. We are too fixated on thw borrowing instead of paying greater attention to if we are increasing income. The real more important indicator i expect needs to be monitored is the rate of revenue growth. Nigeria is not a rich country per capita. A 50billion usd annual budget is a shame for 230 million Nigerians and when we begin to factor in massive corruption, it gets worse.

Controlling birth rate since independence would have made us have an even more heftier debt than we do...borrowing to take care of the elderly.

A lot of people love buying finished products, especially the whites (which is why there is no domestic television and computer manufacturing in the UK for example...everyone buys products mostly made in Asia), otherwise you are right.
Your first paragraph is false, immediately after independence we had about 15% literacy rate, and focus should have been ensuring close to 100% in 20years. We were clearly outgrowing our economy in population since 1970s.

80% of Nigerians barely pay any formal tax, and we need to control the birth rate sooner than later, it is hard to achieve under a democratic leader. China tapped in to that and now relaxing the rules. Nigeria is no where near worrying about taking care of the old. Those over 65 years are about 5% of the population . we need to move to a stable population pyramid ASAP and focus on productivity.

We should have passed the stage of selling palm oil, cotton, cocoa and so forth.
i have been to Songhai farm in Porto Novo, and they produce and process the products there as to achieve self sustaibability. I believe this Songhai farm is modelled in the same light, but government must hands off.

Rivers state under Amaechi set up something similar, but not sure how that ended.

Majority of the leadership and followers never look inward and reform; it is always "(s)he has been bought" rhetoric.

The leader can not galvanise zilch, he is disaster that could have happened as a president as he may even be impeached like he was as Anambra Governor.
