UEFA Euro 2016 to be broadcast live on TV3
TV3 to broadcast 22 of the 51 matches from France this summer.
Matches include 16 exclusive Group games, 3 exclusively live Round of 16 games, 2 exclusively live Quarter Finals and the Final live on TV3 & TV3 HD.
TV3 is delighted to announce details of an agreement to broadcast 22 live UEFA Euro 2016 matches this summer.
The historic license agreement with RTÉ follows the conclusion of a tender process. Under the deal, TV3 will broadcast 21 games exclusively live from UEFA Euro 2016 on Free-To-Air television in Ireland, including matches from the last 16 and quarter finals. TV3 will also broadcast the final.
TV3 Group Managing Director, Pat Kiely, said:
“This has been a busy and an exciting few weeks for TV3. We are very happy to be collaborating with our old rivals in RTÉ this summer and I am personally very happy to be announcing the start of what is a new era in Irish sports broadcasting.
“We are grateful to everyone who has made it possible including UEFA, with whom we work so well on Champions’ League and our colleagues in RTÉ. This deal further demonstrates TV3’s commitment under our new owners Virgin Media to bring the very best live sport to Irish viewers. TV3’s coverage of Euro 2016 will kick off on Saturday 11th June, with England’s tournament opener against Russia, and will end with the Final on July 10th in Paris.
All 22 matches will be available on the go and online on the 3player app which you can download from iTunes or the Google Play Store .

From your pic l was wondering how your Ku lnb fitted the cband feed horn.how did you do that.mine passes through.

I used Tyre Tube. Cut it and tie around the lnb base.

@chinedu7,thanks for the tutorials so far.One more thing what channels do l track to have a good arc (to pawn from east to west). Or rather how do l know lf l have gotten a good arc.

Using Ku-Band as primary, first track IS20 Ku-Band, use chalk or ur screw driver to mark the position on pole, then track Canal on nss 22w and mark as well. The two position will be 1 or 2 centimetres apart. Shift the dish to the centre of both positions, once you have done that, lock the root of the dish. Now, move the dish to SES 5 on 5E, signal won't pop-out but since 5e is the centre, it will be easy to guess the position and adjust the declination angle also known as dish tilt. Once you hit green on SES 5, check the signal level of both IS20 and NSS 22W and make necessary adjustments if you have to. Now you can attach the cbands.

Like I said, the lnb without plate can only be used as primary or on top if used below you will lose Thaicom unless you want to sacrifice Thaicom, again using Ku-Band on top is OK but could be problematic when finding the dish balance because Ku-Band signal tends to disappear with slight shift. Example I am in Anambra State where 9e is difficult, when I used Ku-Band on top of the primary, finding the balance between getting 9e, IS20 ku and MBC became problematic because 9e goes with slightest shift and I still had to balance the other lnbs, that is why I ended up with ku as primary and it worked.

I attached a picture, Ku-Band as primary, c-band with plate will be below the primary, while cband without plate is on top of the primary. Reason, if cband without plate is attached below the primary, it will cut off Thaicom from the motor, because sats that require plates starts from Intelsat 906 at 64. 2°E. While sats that doesn't require plate starts from Thaicom 5&6 @78.5°E. That setup has to be like that for maximum efficiency.

Wow my installer got sport24 in less than 10 minutes in Kaduna, its steady at quality 90%. I use a 2.4 dish

Sports24, 90% with 2.4m. One thing is sure, your decoder isn't Strong, that signal could be 55% or 57% on srt4922 even 4950h wouldn't go that far.

Or can I do all that in the comfort of my sitting room?

Motorizing your dish means giving it leg to move from one position to another. You store different positions in the positioner in your room. Ex position 1 is Apstar 7@76.5E and position 2 Sony @68.5E and so on. Once you press 1 the jack carrying your dish will move it to Apstar and so on.

I don’t know the current price of a 2.4m dish but it won't be more than 50k, heavy duty Jack cost around 15k, positioner cost 6k and an installer may charge 7-10k for that. A rough budget of 80k. Just an estimate.

I have been following this thread with keen interest for some days now and I want to say kudos to you gurus here esp Chinedu7. With the little knowledge I got from the comments and responses so far, I want to ask..... Will I be able to get channels like MBC Movies MBC Action, Cartoon Network and most of the other channels which are aired by CTL (Trend TV)? If NO....the AFN channels....do they air quality and more recent movies cos I am a lover of Hollywood. Also are there also soaps like Telemundo and habit of Hollywood? Thanks in anticipation of an answer.

Bros, fortunately you can achieve all you have mentioned 'but' you need a big motorize 2.4m dish only. Combine three lnbfs(one cband with dielectric Plate, one cband without plate and one Ku-Band). That is the only way to get everything you have mentioned. On Apstar7 you will get premium cartoon channels like Disney, NICK JR and so on, you will also have channels like E-entertainment, SONY movies, AXN, etc in HD with other stations that air good recent TV series. Telemundo is also free on Apstar 7 in English Language. Then on IS20 Cband - HBO and SONY-PIX for top blockbuster movies. AFN Atlantic on 1west also offers good premium movies with better picture quality than other receivable AFN found elsewhere. For Sports you have SONY on IS20 and Sports24 on 34w. Your MBCs are easy to get with even 90cm but with 3-in-1 motorized dish, everything is covered. That is if you have space for a 2.4m dish and of course you will need a very good installer for that. For local channels you will get NTA, Channels TV and WAP TV all free. I can tell you that with this combo you will feel like watching more than DSTV 'free' in your home.

That is great what is your signal strength? Wonders never ends because I tried removing it from mind and it fell face down, NTA drops to 65% or so. I have one cband lnbf that doesn't require plate, it's Stargold

Skew isn't much important. Place your lnb at 9 o'clock for starting. After tracking, do lnb adjustment wherever you get highest signal lock it there. Skewing can be different due to multiple lnbf types in the market. The theory is 'where you get highest signal is your best skew' which can be different with another lnbf type.

First replace the cband lnbf with ku band, track the Christian channels on IS20 68.5e, it's easy. Once you have it, loosely lock the dish and replace the KU band with cband and input this TP 4064 H 19850. The signal strength maybe poor or none existence. To adjust the dish slightly move it up about one inch, you will definitely have 4064 H 19850, try to get as high signal strength as possible, once you have 75% or more, then do blind scan.

I don't understand this 'track without dielectric plate' I have been hearing. Please not every lnbf is built to work without plate. If you dare to track Sports24 with Strong or SuperMax lnbf without dielectric Plate you will be sorry.
