Religion / Re: Those Who Lived Wayward Life In School Get Better Opportunities Than Church Goer by chineduuf: 6:22pm On Jun 25, 2021 |
obembet: Well, to be honest "Wayward" is relative. Even the Bible says "I will bless the work of your hands". A lot of these top academic performers engross themselves is attaining grade so much that they forget the purpose go going to school in the first place; learning to solve problems around you. Don't be carried away, a lot of them are just good crammers. Not really knowledgeable. And those so call "Wayward" one on their spree encounters and meet people with real life problems, find a way to solve it and get wealthy. Even when you focus on God, work on your hands too so that God will bless them. |

Career / Re: Bank A Or Bank B ??? by chineduuf: 6:30pm On Jun 15, 2021 |
At the end of the day, it is your choice chief. I am an explorer and a risk taker. I can't even survive a job I don't enjoy doing for 6 months. There are other people who would stick to bank A due to FOMO and that's fine too. From the little you typed, you sound pretty much smart enough to always get back on your feet. I'd say ditch the job you don't like and find a new path MIGHT enjoy. What's 20 months to spending another 48 - 60 months doing something you don't like? That's the origin of frustration and depression. Like I said, it's still your choice to make if you are a FOMO or an explorer. Best! 1 Like |

Programming / Re: Why Self Taught Programmers Over “Exaggerate”. by chineduuf: 6:09pm On May 31, 2021 |
Saw this after typing a whole note. This is the last time I am ever trying to draw the line between the two, they just hate the fact that real and grounded CS graduates are preferred at the top and makes more. They can continue competing with the worst CS graduates and feel that's what CS encompass. |
Programming / Re: Why Self Taught Programmers Over “Exaggerate”. by chineduuf: 6:05pm On May 31, 2021 |
Bro, you are just a hater trying to glorify yourself and your self taught skills. There is a clear line between a CS graduate and a self taught programmer. If you even know what computer science encompasses, you will not make this comparison. I am CS graduate and a self taught programmer alike. No offense, the same ignorance that drives this post is still why your so called "Self thought programmer" don't go far. If you have worked in a fortune 1000 company you must have come across the phrase "Coding Monkey". This is a term used for people who just learn coding without learning things like algorithms and the entire process of a software development lifecycle. All you know is, Create, Read, Update and Delete. How many of your so called Self taught programmers can boldly explain how an element is searched in an array? You just know there is a function that comes with the programming language that does that. How fast or efficient it is doesn't concern you. All you know is that it works. Given a task, you can always go to stack overflow and copy a solution without analyzing resource consumption and time complexity. Go to Google and tell them you are a self taught. Even an average CS graduate don't make it up there because there is a lot. I can talk on this all day, but let me stop here. And by the way, they don't teach you how to code in CS, they teach you algorithms and you can learn any programming language to implement your algorithm. The only insecure person I see here... Well. You guys are trying though, no doubt. But c'mon, y'all should let it rest, there is a clear line. Don't compare someone who just went to get a certificate with someone who actually studied computer science. Cheers! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Well, I know exactly how you feel. I have had two of those. Broke up because I don't go to church. I personally feel uncomfortable sitting inside a church, knowing I am lying to myself. Programming / Re: Why Most Beginners Quit Programming by chineduuf: 10:39pm On Jan 27, 2021 |
Nice read... Most people will say "PROGRAMMING IS HARD", that is just partial truth. Programming just have a steep learning curve. Changing the way you look at problems can be difficult, which is the beginning. Learning how to think logically. But once you understand the basics solidly, you can advance by yourself. It will just be like you climbed the top of a mountain and can now navigate ur way around. It's the climbing that is hard. 1 Like |

Programming / Re: Why Are Backend Developers Paid More Than Frontend Developers? by chineduuf: 1:20pm On Jan 19, 2021 |
chingle5: Lol... If you are comparing frontend to backend based on just CRUD, and you feel backend is only based on CRUD, then you are ill advised my friend. Being a backend developer, you MUST have the basics of a frontend developer, like it or not. Yes, most applications are based on CRUD, but then, have you as a frontend developer ever wondered the amount of processing that goes on behind the scene? Take for simple instance, a simple result processing application. Have you ever wondered the amounts of logic required to do the computation of the results behind the scene? And yes, it is the job of the backend developer to do the coupling of the "YEYE" database, business logic and the frontend. In many cases, especially in Nigeria where there are no boundaries, the backend developer plays a vital role in setting up the deployment environment (which I am almost sure you have no idea of). Don't worry, I am not talking about whogohost, Bluehost and the other click and upload environments. Talking managing VPS, load balancers, multitier architecture, caches, multi authentication, distributed systems, etc. As a backend developer, it is a requirement to have basic knowledge of these. Let me just stop here[ Please, don't get me wrong. I am not saying frontend is unsophisticated or easy. When you start using a lot of JavaScript and frontend frameworks like ReactJS, Angular, Vue,Ember, BackboneJS and the rest of them, frontend too get quite complex in it's own way. But then, comparing frontend to backend, get your facts right. Cheers! 2 Likes |

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Stopped Calling And Picking My Calls by chineduuf: 7:50am On Jan 13, 2021 |
Habby222: Disclaimer: This is only your side of the story and I will give you my 10 cent based on that. We humans have this emotional attachment (love) to people we've been with for a long time. Common sense will tell you that he has been using you for your finances (Like to believe it or not). How can someone always fall to you but you cannot fall back on the person and you expect to live happily ever after? Yes, you said he is financially okay too, but then, we humans are naturally greedy. We want to eat our cake and eat our neighbor's cake too (Sometime our neighbor's own first). Secondly, someone who cares about you will not take this long to reconcile a matter as mundane as this, even after you making this much effort. Which I am very sure you have flooded his phone with messages. This is a classic cases of emotional play. He has known you, and knows you will crawl right back begging (Which perhaps have been happening each time you have a dispute). Yes, it hurts to think of letting someone you have invested so much of your time and resources on go. But then, which is more important, the invested resources or your mental and future wellbeing? My 10 cent, suck it up. If he cannot realize that he has hurt you, and doesn't care that you are trying hard to make right over this period, then I'm afraid I have to tell you that you are in a toxic relationship. Again, let him, if he is suffering from insecurity, let his emotions take their toll. When he get back himself, he will come around. Unless another baby don dey give baba bleep. Lol. Bottom line, let him get himself. If things drift apart, there are millions out there that will make you happy again with time and perhaps better. Cheers! 1 Like |

Crime / Re: My Sister's Account Was Wiped Out While Her Atm Card Was With Her by chineduuf: 10:41pm On Dec 28, 2020 |
First of all, I will advice you go to the bank tomorrow when they open and make a complaint. Secondly, ask your sister if she tried using her ATM for online purchases, whether declined or successful. I have seen people fall victim of of scam sites that promise widely sought products at ridiculously cheap price. When you enter your card details, it is the end of it. They use your card detail to transact on sites like "wish dot com" that does not send OTP. Some of these international merchants don't even need your PIN, all they require to carry out transaction is your card number and the 3 numbers behind the card. Like it or not, we are all vulnerable. We can only do our best and hopefully, banks too will play their part to integrate more security features to detect and protect against fraudulent transactions. I wish you luck. 2 Likes |
