Bro, skill up! Blaming the country won't help you one bit!
Look at it like this, assuming you don't have a degree, what would you do?

When you can answer that question then you won't blame the country for being jobless.

Cheers man! There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

I love the job I have been doing for two years now, remote job for about 1 year 6 months. But I’m not well paid.
Did remote job for a Nigerian startup. One of the worst decisions I ever made.
Took the job because I believed in the idea, the payment can't even buy me data for a month. Before you know it, this man collected external jobs; wanted to pile on me and started micromanaging me. I just sent his HR a mail that they should get someone else, I will leave by the end of that month and as in the agreement, they should not pay me for that month.

To be honest, I enjoy doing what I do, the job description of course. A lot of times, I feel underpaid, but looking at how much lives what I do saves, It gives me joy.
Secondly, my M.D. is very supportive of growth. Paid courses, involvement in executive meetings with multinationals so you can learn. And it's not like you are compelled to stay. Whenever you want to leave, you can and they will support you 100%.

Ah ah!!! Most times I wonder how these people think. Don't they have people to advice them?
How will you borrow just to complete your legacy project? And leave debt for your successor. The level of selfishness!

I used to have these too... It was soooo annoying and frustrating. Mine was even with blackheads on my nose.
I got tired of remedies.
One day I just watched a YouTube video where they suggested drinking lots of water. It sounded too basic to be true, but that was what helped me.

1. Drink plenty of water daily. You go pee tire, but no worries, it helps your kidney too.
2. Avoid direct Sun on your skin as much as possible
3. Use face scrub once or twice a week (I use St. Ives)
4. Use moisturizer

But then, if you have the funds, visit a dermatologist.

At the end of the day that same company will hire Nigerian software engineers remotely to do the job unda an NDA and pay them peanuts out of the profit.
And then, our remote developers will be happy because a win for them; it's more than they earn here physically. Sadly.
Romance / Re: Single People How Do You Cope With Being Alone by chineduuf: 9:16pm On Aug 07, 2021
You don't want to impose on the next person, the next person is seeing you as a private person and doesn't want to impose on you. The circle goes endless like that.

My sister, talk to somebody. There is no way on earth everybody on your contact list is busy everyday. You can talk to Chukwuma today and chat with Folake tomorrow and text Ibrahim the next day.

Also ask yourself if you are welcoming. And then, a lot of people don't start conversations or chats because they don't know how to keep up a good conversation. If that is your case, you just have to learn how to improve yourself. Start with small small 2-5mins conversations. Learn not to just say "Good morning, how are you", learn to also add "That's a nice perfume your are wearing", your hair looks great, what product is that? Hey your skill is glowing lately, did you change skin product? Before you know it, you are having a good conversation that you wouldn't want to end and you have a good time and company.

If you are lonely, try starting conversations with people, don't wait for them to come to you. They might be having the best conversation of their life at that moment you are waiting for them, really.

Shalom!

Greetings able Nairalander!

Straight to the point, please I have a friend who just got granted 2.5 million Naira and is thinking of a profitable business to invest the money in. He is not very greedy, he is looking to use the monthly or weekly profit to fund another business, as long as the monthly return is reasonable.

Kindly help, regards!
Family / Re: Married Men In The House Please Advice Me by chineduuf: 10:30am On Jul 22, 2021
Bro, obviously you found yourself a good woman. And from your tread you seem to be doing well for yourself too. Sometime ago we saw a tread about a guy whom the bride's family demanded so much for bride price without compromise and then later asking the guy to bear part of the bride brother's wedding burden (Which I for so change am for the family, nonesense). As far as the parents will not compel you to carry the entire family's burden, honestly I will give you a green. Secondly, you should also consider your bride, is she a hustler? She shouldn't end up just being a house wife, can she support the family goals and dreams?
Person weh say if you leave her, na okpoho straight.
Do you plus and minus man.

And as for the brothers, Bleep those niggas man. If the sister is 22, then I believe the brothers should be between 24 and 33. Make them go hustle, man up and clear them, na their mate you be. If your hustle na transferable skill, teach them, rather than give them petty cash.

Career / Re: 10 Mistakes You Are Currently Making That Might Damage Your Chance Of Success by chineduuf: 6:24pm On Jun 29, 2021
I personally relate with number 4 bro. I was sitting at home wanting to be perfect at what I do, I was never sufficient enough for myself. Meanwhile, friends whom I was coaching were already employed or getting one deal or the other, I just wasn't confident enough. I later decided to just take a training job, in just two months I realized how far I have actually come, I was able to break down concepts to confetti. During that period I was able to do a thing or two. A couple months letter an organisation invited me for interview through my LinkedIn profile. I thought it was all a scam because I never applied for the job. Took the leap of faith and went, they wanted me to start immediately the next day. With how the interview went, it was more of a conversation (gist) because the interviewers were grounded in the field and some of the things I learnt passively were what they needed.
Finally, I even had to give them condition of resuming after some time because I needed to find a replacement for my current employer. And they agreed even though there were other candidates.
Your advice is on point. Kudos!
