Hello,

I'll try and simplify your concerns.

First off, I used to be like you - very terrified about the whole visa process because my first experience with them in 2018 was not funny. They were so uptight and that made me so uneasy. So I carried over that impression into my next visit with them a few months ago. Lol.
Surprisingly, things weren't as I had thought.

With regards to translation, I was equally worried that they wouldn't accept my soft copy print-outs, if that makes any sense. The same thing applied to the documents my Spanish university sent me via email. My translator was agitated because she said the consulate must understand that given the times we're in, it's not easy for documents to be shipped across as before. Therefore, she was hopeful that her digital signature would suffice.

Encouraged by this, I simply printed out the translated documents and took to my appointment (while carrying a pen drive with the soft copies so they can confirm the signature in case they doubted it). Brothers and sisters, there wasn't hesitation or doubt of any sought. They accepted my submission without second guessing.

Based on this, I suppose you should have no worries about submitting original documents, especially the ones from Spain.

Better still, you can email them for more accurate information. Cheers!

Thanks so much for the response.

Can you please help me clarify:

Do I need to translate my proof of income letter from the bank showing they are granting me a loan?

2. Do I need to authenticate my medical certificate at the ministry of foreign affairs?

Thanks

Even though no body has agreed to answer any of my previous questions, I’m still going to try.

The translator I am talking said I’ll have to scan the documents to her and when she is done, she will send a soft copy of the documents to me. I know I have been seeing DHL, Nipost etc. Would the embassy accept them?

Also, my school only sent soft copies of my documents. They said policies have changed due to COVID. Did you’ll schools do same? I still ask cos I read somewhere here that the embassy only accepts original hard copies.

Hello, Good day.

Please, can you help share a list of the documents that has to be legalized and a list of those that have to be translated.

The list/mixture is a bit confusing.

This may help

Guys can someone please answer??

I’m in a fix right now and need lots of clarifications.

They’ve stopped issuing the first dose of the COVID vaccine but the embassy says one must have a vaccine certificate before they can issue a visa.

Can someone please advise?

This is a sworn affidavit stating that as at present, you are a single unmarried male or without any marital attachment whatsoever.
You can go to any court to have it done, for a negotiable fee.

I read somewhere on this thread that my parents would have to do this on my behalf in my place of origin.

Is this right and is this particular affidavit mandatory for everyone?

Hi Talltim,

Can you please help?

I have asked for some clarification but yet to get any response.

Also, someone mentioned here that we need an Affidavit of BACHELORHOOD / SPINSTERHOOD. Is this a mandatory requirement for all potential scholars?

Thank you.

talltim:
Hello Fellow Nairalanders,

I'm Timothy. First of all, I'd like to appreciate the initiator of this thread and everyone who has contributed positively over the years. I recently stumbled on this thread and read through all 20 pages. Clearly, this thread is still relevant 3 years down the line and considering the insufficient information available online with regards to the Spanish student visa, this thread is probably the best source of information for this topic. I went through the rigorous application process in Nigeria last year (gosh, i dont even want to think about it again), and by September 2017 I eventually arrived Barcelona for my masters degree program. Wish I knew about this nairaland thread much earlier, I would have avoided some errors I made last year during my study visa application process.

When i arrived Barcelona last year, I went through the process of getting my TIE (the student resident card...for simplicity sake, NIE & TIE are often used interchangeably). Surprisingly, when i got my TIE card,
the expiry date was less than 1 year (that is another long story for another day)... Anyway, i had to go through the process of renewing my student TIE when it expired and I successfully concluded the process here in Barcelona only just last week. Based on my experience, i have to say that the TIE renewal process isn't any easier than what I experienced at the embassy in Lagos... especially with the language barrier (my Spanish still sucks). However, it is not all bad news. With the right guidance and support network (like nairaland), it can be less overwhelming.

I clearly understand how lonely the process can be without any support or accurate information. Having successfully gone through the most of the processes (the application for study visa at Spanish embassy in Lagos, the application for the TIE upon arrival in Barcelona, and the renewal process for expired TIE in Barcelona), I will be happy to join the more experienced gurus of this forum to offer guidance based on my experience. I am still relatively new in Spain (only just 10 months in Barcelona), so i am not yet an expert. But i have a more recent perspective and i'm willing to share lessons from my experience, if needed. I am usually not on nairaland (i actually just created an account today), but i think i will get email notification if anyone sends me a message here. Will try to respond as best and as fast as I can.

Special thanks to Rodrigo (the translator) for his detailed explanation on this thread. Someone recommended him to me last year while i was still in Lagos and i am glad i used his service back then. Based on my experience, he is very professional, responds timely, and delivers quality work...highly recommended by me!

On a final note, please do not be discouraged at the study visa process in Lagos. Trust me, when you arrive in Spain, it will be worth all the trouble. I can speak for Barcelona, because that is where I live, and so far, i have found Barcelona to be an amazing city (if you know, you know).

Cheers and Goodluck smiley

Tim.

Please I would also like to find out if the attestation letter from the University has an expiry date.

I ask cos I saw somewhere that the police Waec mail to the embassy must be within 2 weeks.

Hi guys,

The information here has been very helpful.

Please someone should please help and answer my questions.

Is the affidavit of bachelorhood/spinsterhood part of the documents to be provided?

Also, can I ask my university to send the attestation letter by email or must it be by post?

Someone please help

Hello Chinum, the notary they are talking about should be the one for Ministry of education and Foreign affairs.

Yes. You have to notarize all documents.

No, I did not include my wassce or neco because it was not required since I am going for MSC.

Hello Fabian,

Trust you’re good.

Have you gotten your admission letter from Kozminski. Amongst my visa documents are 3 documents written in Polish language without translation. I want to confirm if you have something similar or if it’s an error on their part.

I'll not like to share my score here.

Consideration for scholarship is only from the test not GPA + Test. I was not informed of my individual score. But I got a mail recently from the school with respect to writing an essay that qualifies someone for scholarship.

Yes the quant helped.

Hello Fabian,

Thanks for your help.
I done with the test aspect and have been told to send a notarized copy of my documents. I’m really confused.
1. Is notarization same as authentication at the ministry of education (been seeing authentication of the thread). How did you do yours?
2. Do I have to notarize all the documents that I’m sending to them? (Degree, transcript, passport, etc)
3. Did you include your Neco or Waec in your documents?

Thanks a lot

They're not yet open, my aunt gave me the phone number of someone who works at the MOF, he charged 1500 per document
I just gave him the documents and in less than 2hrs he called me and said he was done

Thanks Courage for this information.
Please I’ve been asked to submit a notarized copy of my original certificates by the school. Does it mean authenticating my documents as you did? Also, am I to notarize all documents that I’m sending to the school? (International passport, degree certificate, transcript etc)

Last but not the least, could you kindly share with me the number of the guy that sorted your authentication at the ministry so I can do likewise.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks so much Fabian

Do you mind sharing what your score was. I understand that you get considered for scholarship if you score up to 80% (GPA & test)

Also did the quant help in scaling the test?

fabianiyobosa:

I already got admitted into the same program at Kozminski. Do note that the fee is a total of 23k PLN per year.

Concentrate on Poland current affairs, when they joined EU, just basic current affairs of the world.

Also note that your assessment is 50% while CGPA from previous studies constitutes 50%. They only need 60%.

On the day of my assessment, Microsoft Teams worked for me but the other application for the main test failed me and the examiner was very patient with me, I ended up doing the exam via my browser. Even with the delay of almost 30mins that I had, I finished like 15 mins before time.

You need to know mathematics, very good reasoning and logic. Some business questions will also come inform of situations and you are to provide the best solution.

I got GMAT quant practice questions from youtube, I downloaded so many and watched them repeatedly. Please dont ask me to send you a link abeg. I took out time to also solve lots of logic and Quant questions also.

In all, just be composed and do not panic. If you do your homework, you dont have anything to fear.

For Microsoft Teams, download it and be prepared before the exam.

All the best.

Please who has taken the Kozminski assessment test.

I applied for Management (Digital Marketing). I would really appreciate a heads-up as to areas to focus on (GMAT, current affairs etc)

I also have 2 issues:
1. I've been trying to install Microsoft Teams (think I confused it with Meet earlier) without success
Please how do I enable Microsoft Teams on my system.

2. My camera pixel is about 40 while the school recommends 70 for the test. I don't have any other option so hoping using my system would not affect my chances.

Thanks

I downloaded it on my phone, I don't know how it works for laptops.

Were you able to use it to write the test?
Can you please post the link?
Thanks

Please advise.
I have tried downloading the app on my laptop without success. My exam timeline is going.
After downloading it, it does not open, only asks me to tell Admin to enable Meet. I don't understand that.
Can you please drop the link to the one you downloaded?
Thanks

I just downloaded Google Meet for android, what do you mean it's not free?

Mauritius
Mozambique (you would have to fly to Tanzania first)
Gambia (a lot of foreigners have holiday homes there)

Mozambique should be the cheapest to go to. Try and look up how foreigners plan their vacations to these spots, so you know what to go to (unless you have month or plenty money to crisscross the country)

Below are pictures of Mozambique (not mine).

I must warn you, I've been told a lot of African countries do NOT like Nigerians and will treat you much less nicer once they realise you're one.

Wow. Thanks a lot ma'am. I appreciate.

Mauritius is a cool place to visit and yes it's visa free but a plane ticket there will set you back more than NGN300k per person,
if you do go there I would recommend SAA it's bound to be cheaper than most other options.

have you considered Gambia? I haven't been there but I hear it's cool.

Thanks a lot paddie. Do you know how much it would cost to Gambia? In as much as we wanna have fun we don't wanna spend 300k on Tfare. We are just young ladies that are still coming up cheesy
