It's funny how we humans are never satisfied, we want the things can't have and don't appreciate the ones we have.

I, being just a mere insignificant human in the midst of over 6 billion people was not an exception to the 'insatiable' set.

I had both Chidinma and even Sandra at arms length, but I found myself wanting more, and when I say more, I actually mean just 'Ify'.

I thought about her and wizzy and living together and all I could imagine was how much sèx she would be giving him; 'Chai! The gir go kill am with fvck' I thought.

It took me the entire journey home plus some distractions to get my mind off the thought.

It was already around 11am and I had my next and last lecture for the day by 2pm, so I decided to make the free 3hours count the best way I could think of which of course was to sleep, lazy me right? grin.

I didn't really fancy taking a shower so I just undressed, leaving only my boxers on and jumped on the bed.

Certain 'mind surgeons' or simply psychological research have proven that the time we human think the most and actually remember most things is actually when our body and soul are both relaxed.

As I was in such state, my mind started wandering, plus different thoughts started crossing my mind, one of the multiple thought made we open my eyes and search for my phone;

'How come I haven't heard from my so called new girl friend today?' I asked myself.

I caught a glimpse of my phone on the 'reading' table at the extreme end of the room, and that alone discouraged me to stand up.

Its not like am lazy or anything like that, but you know that moment when you are about to sleep at night and after much turning and tossing, you finally get a comfortable position and you are like; 'phew! Nothing would make me stand up from this bed till tomorrow morning' before you close you eyes to sleep? Well, I was in such position and standing up to go get my phone wasn't really appealing.

After much 'hmms' and 'ahhhs' I reluctantly stood up from the bed and went to grab my phone, I immediately dialed Chidinma number.

I didn't get a response until the third attempt, which was so unlikely of Chidinma.

'Hey babes what up na? Been dialing your number for ages' I inquired.

'err..ermm, sorry, I was busy' she replied indifferently.

I didn't have a problem with her reply, but what I had a problem with was the tone she replied me with, it was like 'why is this guy disturbing me?', well I wasn't in the mood to talk about something that wasn't so much of a problem so I ignored the tone and moved on;

'how have you been?, haven't heard from you in a while' I questioned her.

'I've been just been there..'

'oh! Ok, so how about your night? Dreamt about me?' I asked in an attempt to just ease up the weird tension that was already piling up.

'Na, I didn't. Err..ermm Micheal?'

'yea?'

'Can we talk later? I'm in school now and my lecturer just stepped in?'

'Oh, ok.. No p, I'll talk to you later, bye' and I hanged up.

That wasn't like my Chidinma, she sounded so 'different', I thought.

Anyway, I wasn't going to work myself up over nothing, or so I thought. So I jumped back on the bed and after another tedious round of tossing and turning, I slept off.

Nothing really interesting happened for the rest of the day,

***

'Suspect!' Sandra screamed at me as we played a card game known as 'JACKPOT'

***

P.S: Jackpot is a card game in which a minimum of four people play, they are meant to pair up in twos. The cards are sorted out and separated using the different shapes on them then each player picks one out of the different shapes and then an extra card is picked at random before the players start passing different cards amongst themselves. The idea is to get all cards of similar shape and give your partner a sign to say 'Jackpot'... Ok, am talking too much about the game, if you want to know more you can ask Google.

***

Anyway, I paired up with Urch while we played against Tayo and Sandra who were also paired up.

'Are you sure?' I asked Sandra with my 'poker face' hoping she would take back her words since I had four matching cards.

'I said suspect! Show me two different cards' she insisted.

I tried cheating and flashed the cards at her so fast she saw nothing, but she wasn't easily fooled.

I eventually had to drop all matching my cards and pick four different cards, therefore starting all over again.

She and Tayo celebrated and laughed at me in joy, well I couldn't blame them.

The game eventual ended with I and Urch losing to Sandra and Tayo.

As they kept on mocking us, Urch ignored them and brought out his phone to make a call, then when the recipient picked up, he walked to the room, probably due to privacy issues. Thoughts of not hearing from Chidinma for a while crossed my mind and I decided to call her but coincidentally her number was busy.

Truly a coincidence? I think not.

It's not just about the first girl, its about many girls, its just that she happens to be my personal mtn (everywhere I go). Its not coincidential, I believe we all have that one person that's always in our life, for me its Sandra.

@ocutegan, the songs I quote in the story are just intended to add a little flavour to the story, I can't recall the exact songs I was listening to at each given time, so I try to blend my blunt knowledge of songs I know into the story and if you have noticed, most time I quote the lyrics of a particular song it matches with the present situation. As for the exact time settings of the story,let's just say it all happened between 2011-unknown.If am to publish the story, I would make corrections, thanks for your constructive critic, please point out more.

'AM BACK!!! Sorta like I forgot my BB charger/ legend in the making, let the whole gidi gather/ this is not a n illusion, confirm it wit your iris/ can't even write no more, sorta like am suffering from arthritis...' Those were just some lines from one of Erigga's songs that blasted through Wizzy's beat by Dre headphones which I plugged to my phone (am not quite sure of the song title).

Both of us being guys that don't really talk too much didn't have much to say, so I could notice he was intentionally avoiding chilling with me in the room for long, he kept walking round the whole apartment, from the bathroom to the toilet and then the kitchen, not like he was cooking anything.

The basic idea was to avoid an awkward silence, but I didn't seem to care because am a huge music freak and I had all the music I need right in my phone and the make it all jolly, I had a wonderful headset to go with it.

Those of you all that use Beat by Dre headphones would understand me better, I just can't explain the difference between it and other normal headphones.

Anyway, I would had left his place earlier but I really had to see this his 'female' roommate.

Wizzy is one guy who due to his physique, looks, brains and political standings can have any girl he wants but he didn't have a girlfriend, or so I thought.

So the fact that he lived with a female who ain't a relative made curious and of course, turn on my amebo mode.

P.S. Amebo is an informal word for a gossip.

At a point wizzy ran out of reasons to walk round the apartment and finally sat down one place, and as expected, there was an awkward silence until I spotted a ps3 game console just below the China made flat screen tv.

'Anhan see game there and we dey look our self like say we dey plan something for our mind' I suddenly broke the silence.

'Hmm, shey you sabi play game ni?' He asked a stupid question.

'No oh, I dey wait for your papa to come teach me. Go on your gen na abi fuel no dey' I just assumed he had to have a generator since his house was so equipped.

'Fuel dey, I no wan on am come beat you like small pikin oh, na PES I get o'

'No wahala, I for prefer Fifa but I go manage PES'

PS. To the females who don't know what the hell am talking about right now (PES, FIFA etc), as your brother or maybe your boyfriend(s). *winks*

Anyways, moment later we started the game and as usual I choosed my Real Madrid and he choose Napoli, I couldn't help but laugh at such inferior team he choose.

The game started and to my greatest embarrassment and surprise, Wizzy had spelt my name and put two full stops by half time, he was winning by a heart breaking scoreline of 9-0, all I could brag about was an off-target shot. Chai! If I say shame no catch me that day, na lie I dey lie.

Just as second half started, Cavani was already running towards my goal post for a 10th goal when a know at the door saved startled Wizzy and applied too much pressure in pressing the shot button, therefore saving me further embarrassment.

He dropped the game pad after murmuring curses at the person who startled him before going to open the door.

The person who knocked apparently turned out to be the roommate I had long waited for, as she stepped into the room, I recognized her once and was dead surprised at who it was;

'Hi babes, you won't believe what happened to me today, can you imagine that as I was....' she suddenly saw me and I guess she was shocked too as she paused in her statement.

'err..ermm Mic..micheal.....' she stuttered.

'Hi Ify, long time no see' I replied trying to act as casual as I could.

'what are you doing here?' she asked still in shock, I probably was the last person she thought would know she lived with Wizzy.

'I just came to check on Wizzy, although am taking my leave now' I replied trying to save us both from the tensed atmosphere that was already pilling up.

'Oh, you don't have to leave yet, lets play one more game' Wizzy replied with a wide grin.

'Your papa! The 9-0 we you don give me never belle full you?' I replied smiling, but wasn't really happy about it tho, the guy beat me like I didn't know how to play anything.

He just grinned in reply.

'Anyway, I might come back another day when its pay back time, see you later' I replied and walked out of the house in amazement.

While walking down the road in search of a ride home I got lost in my thoughts;

'My own Ify the sèx freak who crushed on me, or perhaps my manliness was now with good boy Wizzy, how did dey even work it out? And to top it all, dey live together! But wait oh, there is a probability that she has changed, I've noticed she doesn't wear clothes that reveal too much anymore...'

'Bros, which side you dey go?' A cab driver who stopped and my front asked me.

'ermm,... Cho..choba' I stuttered.

'Ok, enter na'

I hopped in and the car zoomed off.

One thing I still didn't get was why I was somehow envious of Wizzy & ify parole.

TO BE CONTINUED.

Most lecturers in the average Nigerian university don't take their job serious. They go to the lecture halls late, that is if they go atall, then after a long while of doing next to nothing a wire sparks in one of the head and in less that a month a strike action is declared for no just reason.

Dr D.C. Prosper seemed like one of those lectures, he didn't strike me as a lecture who takes his job seriously from the way he taught.

After separating the males from the females, therefore making us all highly curious, all he said was;

'Good, now I can see you all clearly' Only God knows what he meant by that, and to be frank, I became more curious.

We all were all wait for a further explanation but we figured we weren't going to get any when he started lecturing almost immediately, therefore leaving us all in the dark.

He method of lecturing wasn't anything to write home about, for the first time in my life I witnessed a single lecturer teach eleven topics beginning to end in just one hour, he couldn't care any lesser about us understanding or not. To round it up he simply said we should all go and read the remaining five chapters on our own, we didn't need a soothsayer to tell us that might be the first and last time we would see him.

He then requested to see the two course reps outside the lecture hall and that was it.

The whole has filled with angry and happy chatter of the serious and unserious ones respectively.

While the serious ones were complaining on how what the lecturer claimed to be a lecture seemed more like a mere course description the unserious ones were celebrating at the fact of having minus one lecture period to scrap out of their timetable.

I wasn't with the serious ones neither was I with the unserious ones, but unfortunately for me, an annoying dude who was trying to 'form familiarity' sat by my side. He kept on lamenting to me about how bad the educational system was and then I lost track of what he was saying when he mention something about the agricultural section. What education have to do with agriculture is a question that beat my imagination. I just kept on nodding and humming so as not to make him feel I was a snub.

Wizzy came to my rescue few minutes later as he stepped into the hall and asked if I was going home yet, although I initially had the intention of staying back and maybe make some new female 'friends'(I said friends oh!), I gladly accepted his offer to leave right then since the dude was giving me a headache.

As we walked to the school park, I was quite shocked when he started walking toward a shuttle heading to the delta campus park instead of choba campus where he stayed in one of the hostels, or so I thought.

After asking a few questions I got to know that he had moved out of hostel since he wasn't in year one anymore and hostel accommodation is basically for the year ones, and he now stayed at one of those lodges at Aluu.

Now, I know most Nigerians have a foul image painted in their of the Aluu community due to the lynching of those four uniport students (R.I.P)sometimes last year but calm down because as at that time, the 'Aluu 4' tragedy hadn't happened yet.

I was quite curious to know where my course rep lived so I decided to follow him to his lodge just to check it out.

We boarded a taxi and it dropped us at delta park, we then had to board a bike which then took us deep into Aluu, few minutes later, we found ourselves standing at the front of one out five magnificent buildings.

Each of them looked like a clone of The other and the were all lined up side by side with the alphabets 'A, B, C, D, E' written boldly on each of them respectively. We entered the one with a 'D'.

Unlike my lodge which was major occupied with mostly male occupants and just a few females, this lodge was directly the opposite, looking up at the veranda of most of the separate rooms, I could either see girls gisting or Female undies hanging on the slabs. With this I was convinced that the girls were more than the boys and as expected I wished I had rented an apartment in the lodge, but if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

We walked through a stairway and stopped at the front of a door on the second floor which I assumed was his apartment, when he brought out a key and slotted it into the key hole my assumption was proven right.

The look of the room beat my imagination, it reminded my of Hassy's room or should I say boys quarter back at home. It was cozy and well equipped with all sort of electronics, the only thing that made his room vary from Hassy's room was the colour which was green and he had no air conditioner.

'Wow, you have got a nice room oh, so na here wey all those departmental dues wey we dey pay dey go shey?' I teased him.

He gave me the 'silence is the best answer' reply as he just smiled in response.
I asked again;
'Who is your roommate by the way?'

'when she comes you would see her'

'She?!' I asked surprised.

I've never been the type of guy who kisses and tell, I believe if I do something naughty with a girl, then it quite stupid to go around braging about it.

So when Sandra asked for a detailed story on what happened between I and Chidinma, I wasn't so sure on what to do. She's my best friend and I shouldn't keep secrets but at the same time, I couldn't tell her the story, or atleast not the full detail she was asking for.

So I decided to tell her only things that she needed to know;

'Chidinma told me yes' I replied, trying to be as vague as possible.

'Ofcourse, I know that! You can't tell me she has been telling you yes for the past 3hours?' She replied.

'Why is this girl so interested in my matter like this? Why is she like all those jobless ladies who go about gossiping and not minding thier business?' I pondered.

'are you thinking about what to tell me? If you don't want to give me full gist, then just say it' she replied sounding unpleased.

I nearly said; 'don't want to tell you!'.

'Hmm, ok, we made out alittle and then talked about our 'relationship' more' I lied.

'ok, I get it. In that case i'll be going to my lodge now, see you later'

'your lodge? I thought you were given a quit notice?'.

She just laughed and said;
'Amaka surely has some explaining to do'

I immediately understood what she meant.

27-oct-201x, MONDAY. 6:15am.

It's funny how the human body operates, in as much as I love sleep and can sleep for one whole week if I want to, I find that I naturally wake up as early as necessary in the morning of days that waking up early is required.

This particular Monday wasn't an exception.

Lectures were to officially start today and as annoying as it was I had my first lecture of the session by 7:00am.

I woke up around 5:15am at first, but I slept back in a attempt to catch the early morning 'pleasurable sleep', I had closed my eyes barely 5minutes, or so it seemed when I opened them and saw that the short hand in the clock had moved an hour further.

'What The fûck! I'm not going to be late today of all days!' I screamed in amazement as I sprung out of the bed.

My igbo teacher in high school once made an Igbo proverb which in English language can be translated to;

'The first thing you do in the morning would determine how your day would go'

Although in my case, it was the first way I started the session that would determine how the rest of the session would go.

Please note that am not superstitious or anything like that, but for some strange reasons I believed the teacher and history has proved that she was right.

I broke several speed records in eating, bathing, running to the cab park and the rest of them all, but all of that didn't matter because all I know was that I was sitted and settled at lecture venue, 'U-lecture hall 6' to be precise by 6:55am.

The hall was rowdy and noisy but it was expected because that's what you get when you put two highly populated departments together.

Students from both the marketing department and management department filled the quite big hall to the extent that people had to stand, while the rest stood by the window.

I wasn't really in the chit-chat mood so I plugged my earpiece in my ears and played Burna-boy's Like to party track.

The song was about to finish when I saw lanky looking male figure with a big brown suit, sorry 'COAT' (hope you know the difference), walk into it hall through the front door and as expected we all thought he was the lecturer so after a few seconds the hall was quiet silent, not totally tho.

We were all waiting for the usual long introductory speech but all he asked for was;

'What department and level is this?'

'Management and Marketing 200level' the whole hall replied in unison.

He then turned to the board and wrote;

'MGT 250.1. DR D.C PROSPER'

'Last session, you were thought basic things and almost all your courses were merely introductions, this semester you have would study more advanced courses' He then paused to look at we the students who looked at him with rapt attention in an attempt to grab every word he had to say. Then out of nowhere, he said something that was unexpected;

'All girls move to the right hand side and all boys move to the left'

We weren't sure if we heard what he said so for a split second, nobody moved. Then a girl sitted at the right stood up and started packing her books and before I knew what was happening, everybody was moving and the whole hall was rowdy and noisy once more.

I was sitted at the left so I didn't need to move anywhere.

A cute girl who sat by my side stood up and left, it was then I realised she was by my side and I wondered why I didn't even notice but anyway that was history.

Wizzy some how located me in the crowd and came to sit beside me, we simply exchanged pleasantries, then he asked me a question which I had no answer to but made me wonder;

'Why this man they separate us self? Shey na primary school we day?'
