The Imo State Police Command have arrested a five-woman gang who specializes in child trafficking, for stealing a three year-old boy in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state. The suspects have since been identified as Chinonye Okere, Joy Ama, Eucheria Amadi, Pauline Uzoamaka and Nnenne Okere. Parading them before newsmen in Owerri, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, commended the Surveillance Unit of the command, led by Bassy Asamba, a Superintendent of Police, for doing a good job and for going the extra mile to Lagos to rescue the child. Punch reports. Ezike described the suspects as a chain, whose act could best be described as shameful. “In the 21st Century when people are engaging in productive activities, like going to the moon, these ones are shamelessly engaging in buying and selling of God’s beautiful creation. “To learn that they sold this handsome child for a pittance of N600,000 is most annoying and shameful. “We will not spare them. We will arraign them in court on Monday (today) for them to answer their charges. The gang is a criminal chain and we will ensure that the law takes its full cost,” he said. Responding to a question, Ezike said the police officer identified as Felix, whom the suspects accused of being part of the gang, was facing an orderly room trial and would be dismissed and charged to the court if found guilty of being part of the child-trafficking syndicate. When interviewed, the prime suspect, Okere, who allegedly stole the child at a funeral ceremony confessed to the crime, but stated that one police man, Felix, planned and executed the criminal act with her. She said that her husband and one other person she named as being part of the crime, Rose, were on the run. The alleged buyer, 55-year-old Uzoamaka, who told newsmen that she lived in Lagos, said she bought the child for N600,000 from 54 year-old Mrs. Amadi in Nnewi, Anambra State in April. The case was taken up by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, DSVRT, after the Ketu Police Station Family Support Unit informed them of the incident. The child was then rescued by DSVRT and taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, for first aid treatment, after which she was transferred to the Gbagada General Hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. The 34-year-old woman was brought before an Ogudu magistrate’s court in Lagos on Wednesday, 14th June. The magistrate, Mrs Sule Amzat, set the bail at the sum of N50,000 with two sureties, one of who must be a family member and show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government after the accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge. neat cloth is good enough for me |
A Facebook user, Hannah Pewee has taken to her page to recount how she was kicked out of a mall because a customer did not like her outfit and then reported her to the security. She claimed to have won the skimpy cloth because of the sweltering temperatures outside the street. The 20-year-old slammed Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and expressed her disappointment over their action. She wrote: “As many of you know, it is NINETY degrees outside today in West Michigan. Aka, really hot. So, of course, I decided to dress for the weather: shorts and a tank top. But apparently, how I was dressed (see photo below) was too slutty for the public, as I was kicked out of the Woodland Mall today. Yup. Apparently some anonymous person reported me to MALL SECURITY for inappropriate dress and I was kicked out. Never mind that within a one foot radius there were plenty of girls dressed just like me, since it’s NINETY degrees outside. I am so angry right now I’m shaking. I felt so embarrassed I almost cried. All because a stranger didn’t like how I dressed. The Woodland Mall should be ashamed of themselves, as well as that anonymous complainer. It’s my body, and it’s hot outside! I’m not going to show up in jeans and a sweater, sorry. Don’t like it? Look away! I was out having a fun time with my sister and next thing I know, I’m out on the street. Slut-shaming how girls are dressed is deplorable and outdated, and it needs to stop.” Shared on PalmGossip @ www.palmchatnow.com CC: Lalasticlala, mynd44

"Player" is a slang term used to describe skilled manipulators who smooth-talk their way into a person’s heart, crushing it in the process. A player might say, “I feel like I have known you my whole life,” “I knew I couldn’t let a good thing get away” and “I have never remotely felt this way about anyone before.” However, players are all talk and no action. They only care about themselves, which is why knowing how to identify one could help protect you and your heart. Determine if a new dating prospect is genuinely speaking from his heart or if he is only saying what you want to hear. Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Keep your guard up when dealing with questionable player behavior. 1. Clean up your social networking profile; Revealing too much about your personal life on social networks will help a player know exactly what to say to convince you the relationship is fate or meant to be. Social networking sites allow people to reinvent themselves or portray a persona different from their real one. Refrain from putting anyone up on a pedestal they don’t deserve. 2. Pay attention to the number of excuses a player gives for not showing up; Actions speak louder than words, and futile invites to meet or attend various events without following through indicate that you're dealing with a player. Convenience is a player’s motto—when the mood strikes, a player will take you off the shelf and charm his way into your life. 3. Avoid anyone who refuses to call you; Communicating solely by texting is a clear sign a person does not want to commit or connect. Elusiveness and long periods between contact are signs a player only wants to keep you hanging. Be suspicious if you receive a ton of texts in one day—and then days pass with nothing. Refuse to give players the power to string you along, making you feel insecure. Inconsiderate behavior and disappointment are all a player can bring to a relationship. 4. Identify dishonest and undependable behavior by following your instincts; Be careful not to put too much meaning into a first meeting. If you have to ask yourself if a potential love interest is the right person for you, in most cases, he is not. True interest will be followed by genuine effort. 5. Understand that certain jobs, such as a big-shot; lawyer, special agent or even an executive chef, will prevent a timely response during communication. However, no one is too busy to send at least one text message during the day. Failing to make minimal effort means a player is just not that into you, which can be a blessing in disguise. 6. Watch out if a player moves too fast; Players play games, and unless you want to be a pawn in a game of cat and mouse, don’t fall for their fast-talking, reassuring-but-empty words. Value yourself and don’t let a player take your self-worth or belief in true love. If i omitted any, please do not hesitate to add Shared on PerfectMatch@ www.palmchatnow.com CC: Lalasticlala, mynd44

A South Carolina school bus driver, Teresa Stroble helped get 56 students off the vehicle before it burst into flames, Tuesday morning in Duncan, USA. According to WSPA, the bus en route to Duncan Elementary, Beech Springs Intermediate and Byrnes High School when two students at the back of the bus noticed smoke. The students informed the driver and she got each of the 56 students off the bus and asked the transportation office to call 911. The bus then caught fire and firefighters arrived on scene to extinguish the blaze. Superintendent Scott Turner told WSPA that she was able to evacuate everyone in under a minute as he is very proud of her actions. He said: “She did exactly what she was trained to do. She was calm. She kept the students calm. She made sure they were safe. They were her first priority. She’s our hero today.” The school district took to their Facebook page to notify parents about the incident. They wrote: District Five Schools of Spartanburg County has many reasons to be grateful today! This morning, just after 7:00 a.m., one of our buses carrying students on their way to Duncan Elementary, Beech Springs Intermediate and Byrnes Freshman Academy, caught fire. Two 9th grade students immediately noticed the smoke, and alerted their driver. Teresa Stroble, a 7 year veteran driver and teacher assistant for our district, did exactly as she was trained and quickly and calmly evacuated all 56 students from the bus, and got them to a safe location. She is a true hero!!! We are so thankful for the quick action of the Duncan Fire Department in putting the fire out, and all district administrators who responded and helped with what could have been a very tragic situation. As all of our school buses are owned by the state of South Carolina, the investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing, and will be completed by staff at the state level. We are so blessed that all of our students, and Ms. Stroble are safe! See Photos: Shared on PalmNews @ www.palmchatnow.com CC: Lalasticlala,mynd44
