If you're thinking of using an agent, please watch this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de548aZ7wSk

It is your duty to ensure that your application does not constitute a misrepresentation. You will be held responsible for any misrepresentation and there will be no appeal. A 5 year ban and the possibility that you may never be able to enter Canada or the US. The agent has collected his fee and will move on to the next victim.

Better to plan ahead and do the right thing....cutting corners will only lead to grief.

Thanks @Chordata.

There is no transcript for it so I don't think it can be evaluated.
But does this mean that I can't use it as the second certificate for the "Two or more certificates diplomas or degrees" option.
No you cant.

Hi all,

Please I need the gurus in the house to help with this.

I'm about getting into the pool and I'm planning to use "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees" for my education factor since I have an Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).

My question is do I need to evaluate this with my B.Sc. (Using WES or IQAS)

Then is it possible to add more certificates to IQAS after the completion of application and payment made.
Use the WES equivalency tool to determine if they will assess the OCA https://www.wes.org/ca/preliminary/poe.asp
I think they only assess academic credentials/qualifications (they don't assess trade qualifications) so please confirm before embarking on the journey.

I doubt it. I'm fairly sure because I tried to evaluate my pre degree certificate with WES along with my B.Sc. in the end, it only delayed my evaluation process and the outcome was 4 year Bachelor degree.
Pre Degree is quite similar to A levels.
do you get any certificate or diploma after completing predegree? I thought the duration is usually 1year. Only programmes with durations of 2years or more can be evaluated

Yes my transcript is ready. Is that needed too? Is transcript also needed?

I thought transcript is not essential?
Transcript is mandatory, this should be sent by your school. You should complete the transcript request form on WES' website so that your school can send it with your transacript. Better to start the process asap if you did not attend a private university.

Copied from Canadavisa

POST ITA PROCESS

For those who are waiting for ITA, check the following and prepare the necessary documents.

After you receive ITA, once you log in to your Express Entry profile, you will have two buttons
- Continue Application
- Decline Invitation

Note: You will have 60 days to submit your PR application electronically with all supporting documents. 60 days start from the day you get ITA, if you feel that you will not be able to arrange all the documents in 60 days, you can decline the ITA anytime before the expiry of 60 days and you will be back in the pool. In case you decline your ITA, then you will be eligible to be invited again provided you meet the CRS cut-off requirement.

I'm surprised you sound off confident in having multiple PCC document upload section. Please review your what you indicated in your application because this is an anomaly. I have explained reasons for multiple PCC document upload. And if you do understand the reason for PCC thoroughly, you shouldn't be comfortable seeing multiple PCC for you to upload. In relation to this, I cannot speak further because each applicant case is peculiar and relates to the information they provide.

On the other hand, there can be system errors. This is possible and where you are clear about your details. There is a tab to report technical glitches.

Yes, your LOE would assist the VO to reconcile the differences. Maybe in your case, you attached the PCC obtained in Nigeria twice. However, some people do not attach at all and that's what I mean by the automatic rejection.

Also, I want to say that VOs are not entitled to believe your LOE because I'm getting a sense that people are considering LOE to be a matter of last resort here. It is your duty to provide documentary evidence and satisfy the VO objectively and that if two different officers pick up your application, they will arrive at the same conclusion.

Don't forget it is stated that it's still at the discretion of the VO even if you indicate that it's an education obtained via correspondence. Some people have been asked to still get PCC even when they never visited the country.
Bro everyone has "multiple" in the PCC section; that's the default except you have a screenshot that shows something different. I don't even think you need to include the "by corresopndence" bit if you indicate that the country of education is Nigeria. Passport clearly shows you were never in the UK so I don't think there is a need for plenty explanations regarding this.

Hello everyone,

I'm a little bit confused about this, even my effort to read almost all the contributions right from page one has not given me a clear picture. Please, what's the difference between the "express entry" and "federal skilled workers" Canadian immigration programs?

Thanks for your anticipated kind response.
This could easily be answered via google:

A Federal Skilled Worker is one designated as such based on their education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French; these are the qualities that help them succeed in Canada and they are selected as permanent residents on this basis. You can call this a program

Express entry is not a program per se; it is the selection system for Canadian immigration, designed to select skilled workers for immigration to Canada. FSWs must come into Canada via the express entry system which is an electronic process (not a program).

My opinion will address your ACCA issue only. The opinions provided for your other issues are satisfactory.

In your education - ACCA section, include in a bracket Correspondence. Then in the country of study, include Nigeria. Town of study, include your residential town in Nigeria.

The moment you include U.K. as Country of study - an automatic extra PCC section will pop in your customized document checklist and that means you will be submitting two (2) PCC - one for Nigeria and the other for the U.K. Where you do not submit this PCC, your application will be rejection automatically for lack of completeness. Please note this has happened to a lot of people. The rejection is automatic so your LOE won't have been read to ascertain the reason for not including a U.K. PCC.

Include Nigeria as country of study in your ACCA and correspondence in bracket in your education application section. Only one PCC document upload would be seen. Then explain that you did long distance in your LOE to obtain your ACCA certificate. This way your application will not be automatically rejected for incompleteness and you won't go through the hassle of reapplying again and likewise avoid time delay.

Cheer!!!
Good stuff, I had already inlcuded Nigeria as my country of study but my PCC still shows "Multiple". Took a quick survey and discovered that everyone has the "Multiple" in PCC.
In addition, I quote below guidance from CIC "Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution.

Isnt this strictly a GCMS issue; I presume we're not at that stage yet but correct me if I'm wrong.

Do i get a letter from the cooperative to state that its SAVINGS over time and not a loan? is this credible enough?
What type of cooperative society is it? Is it registered? If yes you should be able to get a certificate stating how much is due to you.
I won't advise you liquidate all your investments just because of POF as it is not 100% guaranteed that you will get PR.
You may need a lettter of explanation and evidence to show your monthly contribution to the cooperative and the source. Just do your best to explain the source of funds as CIC states that it's not only cash that counts as POF.

Charmingdivah:
Please don't be deceived...you can't have access to 100% of funds in your RSA...25% is what the Pensions Act states and this can only be applied for four months after you are out of work.

The question we should as ourselves is: would the 25% be accessed before we submit our application post ITA and would it be sufficient to meet CIC's requirement for the program under which we are applying? The answer most likely is NO! as Most people here are still employed an as such this would proof a difficulty.

Be it known that You can only access 100% upon retirement and that too has conditions to be met and hence does not satisfy the requirement of funds being free from encumbers...(if not we would have being allowed to borrow).

Also the PFA is not the VO who holds a final decision on what constitute proof of funds
Fair point
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Chordata(m): 8:56am On May 31, 2017
Boss13:
I can confidently tell you that Pension funds if submitted will not be calculated as your POF.

Let me explain - you need to prove you have funds to settle in Canada and take care of your family for the meanwhile. This fund MUST be available to you at any point in time - Pension fund isn't.

Now when you get to Canada - you can show your Pension fund as part of your settlement funds. That will be accepted to enable you gain entry. Please note settlement fund is not proof of fund.

POF is before you get COPR. Settlement fund is after you get COPR and you are landing in Canada. What you disclosed above is what you will show border control when you get to Canada. They will not ask you for 6 months bank statement. However, the VO must ascertain that the fund you claim you have is actually yours.
okay fine but what are you basing your conclusion on? Experience or did you read up something? Do you have documentary evidence?
There is no difference between proof of fund and settlement fund except you can show me the difference from some write up. Proof of fund means you should have sufficient funds to settle in Canada so I don't know how you distinguished between the two. Read from Canadavisa forum and you will find people that used provident funds as POF. They do not expect you to have all the cash in hand at the moment; the idea is that you can access the funds when you need to.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Chordata(m):
My people, I think we need to conduct more research on what constitutes or does not constitute acceptable POF. I've been doing some research and it seems like provident funds (PF) are accepted. PFs are quite similar to our Retirement Savings Account (RSA). Here is an extract from one of the provinces in Canada (Saskatchewan):

"The following funds will be accepted:

Personal chequing or savings accounts
Bonds
Cash value life insurance
Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GICs) or Certificates of Deposit
Mutual Funds
Provident Funds (an official letter from the provident fund organization indicating the amount of funds that are accessible is required)
Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs)
Stocks
Tax Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs)
Term deposits and time deposits (must be valid at the time of application and remain valid throughout the entire application process)
Treasury Bills

Debentures, credit cards, lines of credit, gold, cash, property or businesses are not accepted as settlement funds".

On CIC website, they say the following about POF:

These funds could be in the form of:

-cash,
-documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.), or
documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

The only issue for now is probably that no one has tested this. I plan to write them to get an opinion soon so maybe we can get clarity about the whole issue.

For a family of 4 requiring PoF of about $22k ie N7 million, how .much of this can be in the form pension savings?

Also how much can be split by the couple? I have about N3 million in my pension account while my husband has about N4 million.

Thanks
I won't advice you use pension savings as your main POF except its the additional voluntary contribtution (AVC). Even that one may have k-leg in the near future if the rules are changed. Use your pension savings as additional POF to satisfy them beyond reasonable doubt. Based on the law you should be able to access 25% of your contribution if you're out of work for about 4 months. That's NGN1.75million in total.

Please refer to my initial response and evaluate your situation in the light of IRCC requirements. For emphasis, unpaid internships do not count. Here is the link below;

http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp
In addition, you may need to first confirm that the company where you did the internship will be willing to give you a reference letter.
Most companies only give reference letters to their permanent staff (they do not generally give reference letters to interns and contract staff). One reason for this is that they do not carry out thorough background checks on interns/contract staff and as such it's not wise to issue reference letters from a legal perspective.

PS: I'm referring to multinationals though; smaller companies may not care.

"Please be advised that IQAS does not accept emailed or scanned documents either from clients or issuing institutions. IQAS accepts official, paper transcripts that confirm graduation, and which are sent directly by the issuing institution. Faxed documents, whether viewed or not, are not considered submitted for purposes of the application process. Please refer to the status updates outline below to clarify the document requirements."

Pls house advice on my next move. Thanks
I guess this is one advantage WES has over IQAS. You can fax your certificates to WES. Except of course they were speaking strictly about the transcript in your case. Can you ask your school to send the tracking number for your transcript? That way you can find out what J MAPLE did with it.

Thanks for your response. I already have my B.Sc. from a UK university evaluated, I only intend to add the NIIT Diploma in order to claim the additional points for "Two or more Certificates"
The NIIT diploma is an occupational/trade qualification and WES does not evaluate those. To confirm, use the WES degree equivalency tool on their website.

PS: There is a thread on the canadavisa website that discusses this. You can google it or visit the site.

I guess the gurus can answer that but from what I see I think you will get a positive assessment. If you check the WES degree equivalency tool, you will see that NOUN is a recognised university.

See list of recognised Nigerian Universities. Additional research will be carried out by WES for universities not on the list.
