I have just received my medical instructions today in myCIC account. I am to make the report available to CDHC in 60 days. No instruction to pay for fees or board.

Applied online on 31st August going for PG Chemical Engineering in UBC.

I pray that this will be the begining of good news for all medical awaitees.

solomonwis: So many people work in the bank but don't understand the basic! Not where people who studied yoruba language claiming to be bankers without any professional touch. Many claim to be customer care reps in banks but nothing show they have any inkling about the job to be done.

I don't doubt you having challenges using a debit card or what you want to call credit card but I maintain and insist we are not running a credit system in Nigeria. This is not a blind argument, you need a good credit system running in the country to run a credit card system. Very few people have access to what is termed credit card in Nigeria. The facts are there for all to see.

You need to understand the workings of a credit card and a credit system to understand me. Are we running a credit system in Nigeria like it is done in advanced countries? Do we have a pool where credit worthiness or otherwise data can be sourced and analysed?do banker really and truly know their customers in Nigeria.

Let me give you this assignment,research on the modalities for running a credit system in an economy and ask if Nigeria is there already or just getting there.

I have used a Naira Master debit card {which many people under the popular fallacy take to be credit card} and it has worked for me.




I don't intend to derail this thread just as I wouldn't want the other thread derailed. You can argue with everything but not with my experience just as I can not argue with your experience. I have offered to help effect a payment with the debit card and I think that in itself is a proof that I know what I'm talking about.

Let's face it,we don't have a REAL credit system{platform on which credit cards work well} in Nigeria. We are just getting there.

Secondly,when card options are displayed on internet....all we see is Mastercard option ...this is the first time I will hear it called "debit master card" and I have learnt that from you....so arguing out issues that increase relevant knowledge isnt "derailing" bro

I don't jump at everything and anything because I know this is a public forum where there are intellectuals from all over the world. You need to get your facts right before passing on messages.

That is why I advise to leave any matter you don't have experience on to people who are more experienced. When you take it up to a point, others can refine your thought as communicated and everybody is better for it.

......Nna bros na ur Thread i dey.....dont yab me here .....The matter we dissued on other forum is simply what has been experienced by those using it and me.....infact i spoke with a lady banker who was also on the forum yesterday on phone and asked her about the full load down of credit and debit cards....she said she saw your statement were u said there is no credit card system in nigeria and she really frowned at that statement cuz they issue credit cards from her bank.....The reason she couldn't contribute was because the whole issue was been annilated by different forumite....i also frown at the issue were u said i should leave it to the online routers.....Well, i also did online visa application for a personal friend too so you see!! Its more or less like i am also an online router even though i did mine the paper way.....i used a credit card and didnt have any frustration with it....it went once without errors so my giving an advice to someone to use a credit card isn't a bad idea cuz ChriGo don use am....thats what i want you to understand.......

......So carleton do give out scholarships.....latty1 to be candid with u i do not fancy anything with condition....any sch saying condition this,condition that i run from them.....how many sch have u checked?....i assume u are still shopping schs?....check out uni of manitoba,uni of calgary,uni of saskachewan,brandon uni,uni of lethbridge,uni of newbrunswick.....these are also schs that gives out scholarships too without conditions.....check dem out and see if any offers ur course choice......ok i wana give u a condition too if u dont check these schools out dont talk to chrigo again .....ofcourse you know there are tonnes of gurus in the house to give u a better response than chrigo.....dats exactly how it is latty....if a sch handcuffs u wit a condition then move to the next sch and dont give yasef headache.....lol......

solomonwis: It just occurred to me that I was actually helping people pay for online transactions for a fee in the past using zenith bank web surfer card. Back then banks have not upgraded to the level they are now....we will get there I believe.

I need to state that I didn't say there's no credit card system in Nigeria.I said the credit system is evolving.I also said the cards we have a look alike credit card with the same features as a credit card(pls refer to my post earlier).

There are so many things involved using a real credit card (under a credit system) and I dare say it only work well in a country with a good credit system in place. Nigeria is just getting to that level.

Now for the umpteenth time,I will say it again that I have paid for a TRV application using a naira Master Debit card! I have tried using a particular Naira Master Card for the same transaction and it failed until I used another one!

Ask people who paid for WES evaluation and federal skilled worker application fee with CIC what they paid with. So I speak from experience.

The reason behind this divergent opinion is a pointer to the fact that we are evolving when it comes to credit system but we sure will get there.

solomonwis: With regards to online payment,if you check the debit card especially the Naira Master card you will see where “Electronic Use Only” is stated clearly and with the universal Master card code of 5399..

I can understand the cynicism like I stated earlier but it doesn't change the fact that I have used the Naira Master card for online transaction even with CIC.

I am also an Accountant, and you could get courses in accounting(taxation and finance) or msc in biz admin with concentration in accounting,if you want univerisities that are cheap for this course be prepared for GMAT; if you don't want GMAT then check colleges out and find a related course like financial planning,Int'l biz mgt,Global biz mgt etc. Start with this link for colleges in ontario http://www.ontario.ca/education-and-training/ontario-colleges.
