charlesemeka85: Bros it is not pinned down that any winger will only start in a particular flank. Whether he plays frm d right or left Rohr prefers Kalu and Musa for now while chukwueze has caught the eyes as well as a possible super sub from bench due to his sudden rise. Onyekuru has a big battle in in hands prior to afcon 2019 Yea he has a fight in his hands buh it is preposterous playing ur players in the positions they would be less prolific, especially when u have as many options. |

charlesemeka85: Onyekuru is quality just that it seem Rohr doesn't fancy him. Onyekuru is an explosive forward with bags of tricks but the emergence of chukwueze have made competition for a place in the team stiffer for him. I won't be surprise if he doesn't make the AFCON team. He is one player that I believe will a big hit in the super eagles if given a chnace He doesn't play same position as Chuks, primarily. While Chuks operates from the right, Onyekuru operates from the left. Musa isnt good as a winger, he does better as a forward, especially when paired with another striker. To me, the only player who is kinda destined to miss out is Moses Simon, he's been warming Levante bench as though his life depended on it, and has fallen down the pecking order in the national team. |

Onyekuru is joint second highest goals scorer in the Super league behind Diagne, the run away leader. Buh the most interesting thing is that, he has scored 7goals in Galatasaray's last 10 matches and overall 9 in the 15 matches he has played for Gala since joining them on loan |

So where are those guys that have been mocking me bkus my boy had some rough patches, which wasnt even his fault, rather that of Terim, the coach? Onyekuru is a handful on the left wing buh Fatih Terim kept playing him outta position to accommodate that headless player from Cape Verd, Rodriguez abi wetin be him name sef. Some even had to go as far as his Champions league short comings, just to prove him a bad player Forgiveness and co oya ooo |

Mickael2: I said a season before that, read through what I wrote again, that is the 01/02 season and they finished 15th. The next season the same set of players now finished 7th. How is Villarreal a shitty team? A team that finished 6th last season? They are struggling yes but they are not a shitty team by any stretch of the imagination. Should I also pull out Rooney's stats in the 2003/2004 season so you will see further why he went to the Euro? For goodness sake this is Chuks' first professional season, Rooney already played two complete seasons before he was considered for the Euro, that too because he performed when the ovation was loudest Rooney wasn't part of the crappy 2001 Everton team. He played for a better Everton team in 2002. His debut, I think was against Tottenham. Yes, the season before, Everton was bad buh the Everton team Rooney had his debut with was no poor team unlike the Villarreal team Chuks had his break through with, even though a season before Chuks's debut, Villarreal did better. |

Mickael2: It is about getting noticed. I mean how many Nigerians except the ones that are well grounded in football matters are well aware of his exploits? Even those who do still have doubts considering who he is performing against. But remember when Keshi refused to invite Iheanacho and the kind of nationwide uproar it caused? Is Iheanacho a better player than Chuks? That is open for debate but Iheanacho was performing against the top teams so he was easily noticed, that is what football is all about.
Ehm Bros oh, how did Rooney have a paradise behind him? I mean Everton are not exactly a top team, more like the Leicester/WestHam/Watford of those days. They were struggling wirh relegation a season before that so it was a poor team with a good coach. I get that Vullareal are struggling in the league this season but otherwise they are a top 6 team and comfortably qualified from their Europa League group and they could still finish 7th this season. Rooney did not have any paradise behind him, maybe you should check that first. And Rooney played almost all the season as a support striker Lol Michael my brother, I'm sorry buh in ur bid to defend ur points, u just had a boner. The same Everton that finished 7th in the 02/03 season, were relegation battlers in ur own book? Remember, that was the season before the Euro. I will reiterate, Rooney played for a better team, yet Chuks floors his stats playing for a shitty team. |

Icon4s: You want to compare Rooney's early career with that of Chukwueze?
See if you didn't watch the young Rooney play don't let those stats deceive you. They don't tell the full story. Ok, no wahala. Yes stats be like mini shirt, it doesn’t show everything, buh at the long run, stats count a lot. Records remember stats more than everything, hence generations to come, would look up stats to rate players they never saw play. Stat wise, some guys in here are already under rating Kanu despite his exploits. Stat wise, Chuks beats Rooney. Yes Rooney had that artistic movement and was cerebral as a striker buh Chuks has also shown he aint no slouch. And, with what I have seen of Chuks, he is the best Nigerian forward in Europe, so far this season, hence taking him to the Afcon is a no brainer. |

Mickael2: First of all, please please please I am not trying to make him look poor not by any stretch of the imagination, I mean Iheanacho couldn't score against Newport County, Success couldn't score against...whatever the name of that team is, I can go on. So scoring a goal, regardless of the team is an achievement so no, I am not saying it is poor but this is strictly in comparison to Rooney's debut season and why he was easily noticed. I hope I have enlightened you now.
Rooney scored against Arsenal twice (second placed team), Newcastle (third placed team) and Blackburn(6th placed team). He also scored against Leeds and I am sure you know Leeds used to be among the elite then and Aston Villa. So there you go If scoring against the top teams is now the yardstick, then a player like Iheanacho should be knighted by the queen already. Chuks did/does his thing as a winger for a shitty team, Rooney had a paradise behind him, plus Rooney was a striker. |

Mickael2: How many goals in LA Liga? I am sure if Rooney was playing the Europa league against the likes of Rapid Vienna he would have helped himself to a few more goals. But let us look at this impact wise; Barcelona----> 0 goals and 0 assists. Real Madrid----> 1 assist Atletico Madrid----> Record not found, not even sure he played but I will have to check again. Sevilla----> Ehm, Valencia----> Let's just end it here.
This is not to diminish his achievements at all, I mean scoring against Rapid Vienna and the likes in the Europa league is a big achievement on it's own but do not compare that with Rooney at all at all. Just my point sha U aint trynna make him look poor, really? Alryt, could u please help us with Rooney's? Were his, then, against the likes of Man U and the other top four teams in the premier League? |

Rooney "exploded" at Euro 2004. Which tournament has Chukwueze taken part in first of all before talking about his "explosion"? Yes he exploded at the Euros, buh can u tell us why he made the Euro at such a young age? What other reason do u have bar his Everton exploit which Chuks has bettered already and would crush before summer? |

tbaba1234: Alright, 5 senior goals and 2 assists in 26 games.
Rooney has 6 goals in all competitions in 33 games.
There is no much difference between both and remember Rooney plays mainly as a striker or a support striker. Bros laliga and Europa league seasons never even go past half Stat wise, even Rooney and his so called explosion, at this stage aint got nothing on my boy's. KPOM!! |

tbaba1234: Rooney got his call-up for England after his performances for Everton in the 2002/2003 season. He never played for any youth team after that.
In that season, he scored 6 goals in 33 appearances
Chukwueze already has 7 goals and 3 assists in 26 games.
Let him play the AFCON first, then we can talk about tournaments. Tbaba oooo Icon4s oya ooo, come again |

tbaba1234: Why not?
Rooney only scored 6 goals in 33 games in his first season. That was enough to get him an England call-up and he never looked back
Chukwueze already has 7 goals and 3 assists in 26 games this season. Icon4s oya ooo, can u beat this? |

Icon4s: Can you compare playing for Chelsea vs playing for Villarreal? U think Chukwueze would have had that number of opportunities he had at Villarreal if he played for Chelsea? And u think Solanke, Ojo, Ademola et al would have taken their chances with Villarreal like Chuks did, if they were presented with such opportunities l? I still maintain that those guys were not as good as Chuks is today, hence, Chuks would have done better than they did for those top 8clubs. KPOM!! |

My point is if those English boys could play the U20 Why can't Chukwueze too play the U20? And u had to build ur points on fallacies hence bringing ur honorable self to disrepute? Icon4s: Solanke as at that time(2016/2017 season) was back at Chelsea and got a couple of cup games and few EPL minutes. And those cup games and a few epl minutes without any meaningful impacts were as good as what Chuks has done in the Europa league, laliga and Copa Del riel(whatever the spelling is)? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 7:52pm On Jan 18, 2019 |
Icon4s: The bolded is also what we wish for Iheanacho, Success, Onyekuru, Kalu, Iwobi and co. That is the expectation for every young player. It is just speculative but as I would always say: "Most youngsters end up as a disappointment to their fans".
If you say Chukwueze does not need the U20 WC, Nigeria needs it. It is called "service to fatherland". But I can tell if Chukwueze gives out an explosive performance at the U20 WC his number of potential suitors will definitely increase and so will his market value. After Solanke's explosion at same tourney, what was his stock like? What was the market value? Who were the suitors? Huddersfield? Fulham? Norwich and Bournemouth? |

Icon4s: What has Chukwueze done in the Right wing of the SE. From the number of minutes he has played give me one highlight worthy of note. He has only played 45minutes and he did better than his competitors did in their respective first 45minutes for the Eagles in the right wing. Since u wanna thread this path. Now at the club level, this season, he has done better than all those guys put together, in the right wing. Abi a lie? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 7:43pm On Jan 18, 2019 |
Icon4s: For a young Chukwueze to be able to break into the starting 11 straight ahead, well that tells you about the available options they have in the team. Largely why they are battling relegation. At this stage of his career, Chukwueze wouldn't have been able to break into the staring 11 of any of the current top 8 teams in England or top 8 in 2017, with the kind of ease with which he did it with Villarreal. Ur idol Ojo still hasn't broken into the first team of lowly Reims in the Ligue 1 About the bolded, none of the players u mentioned was in the first 11 of those clubs u mentioned also, they were all bit part players for the first team and strong Academy players just like Odoi, chung, Rowe Smith et al today. At worst, Chuks would have been a bit part player for those teams too. So bro, pipe low. Chuks of today is better than those guys were before that world cup. Please do u even know who was Everton's right winger in 16/17? |
