back to the topic of football. it appears when it comes to Africa club championships, Egypt has no competitors as well.

Al-Ahly has won 7 cups and were runners up twice
Zamalek has 5 cups and were runners up once
TP Mazambe of DRC has 4 cups and were runners up twice
Haifa of Guinea has 3 cups
Raja casablanca has 3 cups
Canon Yaounde has 3 cups
Asante Kototo has 2 and were runners up 5 times
Eyimba has 2 cups
My darling club Hearts of Oak has 1 cup and were runners twice.

This is not the comprensive list though. it is just meant to stimulate discussions on soccer as the thread appears to be derailing

spade: Nigeria has participated 17 times, and out of those 17 times, we've walked away with 14 trophies. My broda, no be small thing oooo.
Atleast it shows the fighting spirit that we strive "never to carry last".
"Walahi, if we no win gold, make we atleast walk out with something".

Ghana gotta step up their game for real, truth be told.
Last time they won the trophy, there were only 8 teams playing. And 2 out of the 4 times they won, there were only 6 teams playing. They briefly stepped up their game from 2007-2011, but e be like say dem don begin slack again with that overpraised Captain Asamoah Gyan wey no even get balls to take simple Penalty kicks (Seriously GFA, why does that guy still have a jersey?).

Cameroun na die. Their spot is well earned, mehn. Out of the 4 trophies dem win, 3 of dem na on top our head dem actualize the dream cry grin

Our best chance was when we hosted in 2008 but cameroun shoved us aside.with regards to Gyan, even though he gives us BP at times the guy is the best striker we have for now. I hear he is our all time top scorer with 38 goals to his credit
Sports / Re: Most Successful National Teams In Africa Nations Cup by chriskwaku: 9:46pm On Sep 13, 2013
9jadelta: I don't think Ghana deserve that position, technically yes, but if we look at when they won it, they don't deserve it at all.
but Cameroon deserve that second position

no need for technicalities here.we deserve our position irrespective of the fact that our last cup was in 82

collynzo2: I know a highly place team on that list who hasn't won that trophy for over 3 decades, who won the trophy last when only 8 teams participated, who won 2 out of its 4 trophies when only 6 teams participated.

Lol . say whatever u want. same can be said of madrid in a way. but seriously Gh needs to step its game.

adegwurulez: Buhahahahaha dis thread no go die quick... Ghana vs Nigeria, come to tnk of it, we dnt beg players anymore, Ghana shld stop begging boateng, essien, and ayew brothers let's see if u'l make it to the world cup

we can still make it without them.but apart from osaze and maybe martins which valuable players would u hv urged them to come back if u had not won the afcon
Sports / Re: WCQ: Mido Wants Nigeria, Egypt Pairing by chriskwaku: 9:51pm On Sep 12, 2013
Bidvest2020: Ghana will play any of the teams, including our traditional wife, and win.LOL world cup q-finalist?no one can stop us!

but seriously playing naija would have been stressful.lol .the kind of cyber wars prior and after the match would have be so intense that the topic of football itself would be relegated to the background.

Evestar200: dont worry after 2014 world cup,, Fifa will increase africa slot 4rm 5 to 8
cheesy
Amen wink That means at least 2 teams have to be in the semis and one eventually winning it.that would be tough but then again soccer is unpridictable at times

zynzyn: I won't like Egypt Nigeria Pairing because both countries should go to WC for Africa's Sake.

Still no semi finalist not to talk of winning cry

Africa must improve o, b4 somebody begins to question why we have 5 slots undecided

The thing dey pain pass. Asia courtesy of south korea has even achieved that feat.Africa had the best chance in south africa only for Gyan to blow it away. The world cup is mainly between Europeans and South Americans. The rest just dey escort them

GH KWAME:
I pray Cape Verde gets to play with Nigeria for the qualifications.... **Did you know Cape Verde was given six p0ints to advance to this stage?**
Are you sure? why some much point deductions this year. Zambia got 3 points from Sudan even though the lost. South Africa also reported Ethiopia but they could not succeed though.
