Gerrard was an asset & liability in equal measure to Liverpool.
His gaffes almost balances out his positive contribution hence no great of the game eulogize his skill-set.
Even when Scholes' strength gave in, he rarely contributed negatively to United's cause.
The English hardly bring through technical players, so there are no surprises kick-&-follows like Lampard & Gerrard are favored. A striker like Emile Heskey will bench van Nistelrooy in the English National team.
