My man Basco thanks again always for the highlights and congrats on reaching 100k subscribers. Cheers to 100 mil
Thank God for the win.
Missed the game but from the highlights our set-piece game was on point. Being a while I watched a SE game where the deadball deliveries where consistent. Could have easily scored more from corners if Ekong and Osimhen's headers were on target.
Most of our threat level looked to come from the left which I hope the coaching crew can mix up so we're not too predictable. I know that was down to Chukwueze's NEPA performance. Like someone suggested pending the discovery of a consistent RW maybe one of Lookman, Simon, or even Iwobi should operate there. Samuel for now STRICTLY super sub.
Aina is versatile but RB is his bread and butter. Osayi defensively looks too beatable for my liking.
Chelle seems to not be shy making tactical changes. Yes it's just his first game but I'm cautiously optimistic.
Battle for qualification is far from over. Boys need to refocus. Zimbabwe will be stubborn opponents but with the same level of commitment and that performance I saw from the boys by God's grace we should win that game as well.
Moffi dey try before he got injured. Reminds me of them Amokachi, Yakubu, and Emenike kind of strikers.
I still think Dessers has something to offer. Orban looks interesting if he can bin the horrible attitude. Agree 100% about Onuachu and Umar.
Akor seems too injury prone for my liking.
If Awoniyi the forgotten man get a club where he will get regular playing time I think he could still cook for the SE.
One thing is definitely true the gap in performance and output between Osimhen and our other forwards is uncomfortably too wide. KC before diminishing returns set in was at least doing his bit.
semid4lyfe: Two players that fit the bill are Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town and Akor Adams of Sevilla FC.
Dessers, Moffi, Onuachu, Arokodare, Orban & Umar, I no rate them like that.
I personally like Solace's writing sometimes but agree that he can be condescending when you don't exactly align with his views.
Apart from kissing M. Simon's @$$ I also find it irritating when Mowiz discloses what happened in training sessions just to dey form exclusive.
TheSuperNerd: I have crossed paths with Mowiz before naa. So I am not surprised. I was once in a limited-membered football group that had Mowiz, Solace Chukwu and a few others. I was invited by their admin on twitter/X to kindly come in but what I saw there was nonsense. Bunch of guys who just have myopic agendas for our football.
Solace was horrible when you didn't say yes to his views like everyone else but Mowiz was the worst. His sensational headlines...he admits he does them on purpose. And yes ohhh yes, he rides Simon Moses' d**k like no other and that is why whenever he speaks of a winger that is not Simon Moses, I don't take him serious because he speaks from the angle of agenda.
Mowiz would insult you if you criticised Simon's performance in a game. That is just how childish he is.
So hearing he did such with Boniface shows his IQ level. A very poor journalist in all ramifications.
Chelle must have clamped down on leaks cos if to say na before owngoal go begin tell you how Simon dazzle for training, Sadiq impressed, Osimhen showed hunger bla bla bla.
Samueltemi337: High Pressing, Quick Transition, Patient Build Up – Chelle Drills Super Eagles Players In First Training Session
Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle had his first training session with the team yesterday ahead of the world cup 2026 qualifiers game against Rwanda on Friday Chelle who was appointed in February made his ideas and game plans known to the players during a close door session that had 22 of the 23 invited players taking part. Only Alhassan Yusuf who arrived this morning from the USA missed it.
Speaking on the methods of the coach, Malian journalist Eric Camara said fans of the Super Eagles should expect a system that encourages high pressing, quick transition in counter attack situation and also patient build up against low block teams.
” I can tell you what the session looked like. Patient buildup when you are up against teams that sit back and quick transition football against teams that are high up in your area. He loves to also see his players press high up to recover possession”, he explained.
” You can’t say he is a defensive coach even though he likes his team to play with three center backs. He also isn’t a slave to one particular system of play so he also encourages playing with a flat back four in a 4-3-3 formation”, he concluded.
Fubara was naive to play his cards too early without getting enough men and resources on his side.
Wike that withstood Buhari and Ameachi is not someone you can get rid of easily without having several aces up your sleeve.
If SIM had mass support of ordinary people on the streets it would have helped his cause but the political crisis in Rivers hasn't allowed him to do much.
The way things are going he might just become another footnote in Rivers political history.
raumdeuter: Only if you wanted to deceive yourself will you be in doubt which side Tinubu supported or why. Tinubu asked Fubara a long time to seek a political solution cos Wike holds all the cards.
When there is breakdown of law and order in a state which the governor cannot control, a State of Emergency becomes necessary. With pipelines being blown up this was the red line
The Admiral is probably a Wike nominee, For the next 6months allocation will not touch Fubaras hand and he also needs to be careful not tp be roped into anything criminal
Within those 6months, LG allocation and chairman will be layered with Wikes men, The Attorney General that was in Fubaras corner would have been spoken to
In all of these Fubara lost as he never enjoyed his tenure for 3months , He didn't even settle down to chop his money and going forward he cant even chop money cos every way to nail him will be explored even if na #1m mismanaged
To be fair most of us know we are in dire straits as far as WC qualification is concerned but no harm in staying hopeful.
We just need to get positive results this window to have a realistic chance of salvaging our WC qualifying campaign.
Reason I'm still optimistic is that we have the tools to still make it to the WC next year but I know there's a 30-40% chance of us not going through and I don prepare my mind.
Goke7: On point bro, wished everyone here is like you in managing expectations!
Na so before match go start we go Dey hear we go beat them 5-0 😜
Egbon most Nigerian players that didn't pass through MRI testing any age they claim na to just off mic siddon look.
Yak was undisputably a prolific goal scorer for club and country. With Nigeria I can't put a finger as to why but he just didn't wow and it's not because of the miss against South Korea in 2010.
Kog45: Hmmm,YAK age 19 in 2002,the same YAK that was member of Sydney 2000 Olympic team camped in Ilorin and using university of Ilorin mini campus football pitch in 1999.As at then he was far above 20,Kai wetin I dey talk sef,Nigeria born player football age get as be o
Well a good scorer who just need ball on his feet in eighteen yard box and is a goal but that historical WC goal miss proved YAK wrong.
He was a proving goal scorer right from Okomu Oil fc to Julius Berger,I remember a match he scored five goals and I do not think any player has surpassed the record in NPFL.
Arteta will look at this your list now and still find a way not to buy a forward in the summer.
BankyGee: Victor Osimhen has now scored 8 goals in his last 5 league games! 🎯
Funny how someone here was saying out of 5 goals against Rizespor when Osimhen made his debut, he couldn't score one... Now 85% of Galatasaray's goals in their last 10-15 games has been scored by him alone.
He was subbed off at 68 minutes yesterday at 4–0 and that match ended that way. No additional goal(s). If he took that penalty himself, that would mean that he alone scored all four goals! 😤
Make una dey know who una go dey doubt sometimes, Osimhen is not one of them! 😎
Here are the top 10 highest goal scorers from the top 10 leagues worldwide! 😇
Public education affordable and top quality no ASUU strike.
Security nko? no police brutality. no insurgencies or religious riots.
No poverty or hunger in the land in 2006.
People weren't japaing again.
2006 was eldorado
Theflint1: Nigeria's budget in 2006 was about 14.7 Billion USD and with our about 140M population then, that came to about $105 per person.
You can't compare the quality of life in 2006 to the quality of life today. It was with that $106 per head that we lived some of our best lives, that was our famous fake life era ...what changed?
What was the plague that befell the country that makes it impossible for people to afford the basics even at the $175 per head we enjoy today?
Was it APC? Was it Buhari/Tinubu?
BTW, I don't think you automatically call a country "poor" simply because their budget in USD pales besides another country, especially when the costs of basics in both countries differ greatly.
It's really heartwarming seeing the bond Osimhen has built with the Galatasary fans not just through his impressive on field performances but also touching moments of interactions with supporters off the pitch.
Some might not be overly swayed by Victor's exploits this season because of the low rating of the Turkish league but to miss a whole month of league football and still go and be topping the league no be beans. Osimhen's performances in Europe say that much.
Pray his exploits transfer to the game against Rwanda. We badly need a result in Kigali.
Mujtahida: I tell you. Let him continue doing his thing in Spain. Even if he scores in this round of WCQ, I still don't see him as an Eagle. But I wish him all the best.
Samueltemi337: Nathan Tella has 4 goals and 3 assists this season But he haven't set the world on fire this season compared to Ejuke who has 2 goals and 1 assist Guy abeg rest 😂
Tella and maybe Chukwueze. I can overlook for Samuel since he scored in his last game for the SE and his club form isn't that bad. However Nathan hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season compared to Chidera but that has no bearing on the coach.
Chelle has made his choice pray he delivers.
Samueltemi337: Who will Ejuke replace among the wingers called up?
Mujtahida: We have not failed. What a man does not have today, he will get tomorrow. It's not only Igboelerin, na Igbotako. We are going to Europe where our expertise will be appreciated and further honed. Africa is not worthy of us. Forward! Onward!
If the second main paragraph is true then I'm hopeful.
Chelle seems to be doing his homework.
Personally hope he can fashion a tactical system that makes best use of the current materials we have.
opes: "Eric Chelle has not been paid since his engagement, he had not been paid a dime yet"
"He has been gathering information on all great players of Nigerian-descent abroad and keeping their data. He passes those born abroad and those that were bred in Nigeria through different prisms for his analysis. He has spent endless hours watching each one of the players at least 5 times in different matches to know them well. He is almost ready now"
I'm even finding the virtue signaling from some people who maintained radio silence when Dino Melaye threatened to rape Remi Tinubu amusing.
That said Akpabio can't be judge and jury in your own case. Senate should have investigated the sexual harassment allegations as a separate matter from Natasha's alleged breach of ethics.
As it is now, they have played into her hands to make her an 'undeserving' face of patriarchal bullying.
Pending when clearer evidence is provided, I will also be skeptical of both parties.
The person she accused was not even in the country, and wasn't even close to the venue where she claimed he harassed her. This is the person you are carrying a sword and shield for?
The fact that we are even having a conversation about which of them is wrong, is also part of Nigeria's problem.
Two well known frauds and liars na him una dey find who dey talk true? [/color]
ChrisKels: Did you fail GST101? Where in my post did I ever say that Musa didn't make his debut in 2010? I said he became relevant in 2014, or don't you know what relevance means? Until 2014, Musa was very much dispensable. So, because Akpala scored against France, he was also relevant to the super eagles? By the way, don't deviate from the topic. You said it was Musa, Uche and Utaka starting for us, and I'm putting it to you that Musa and Uche never started any match together. Prove me wrong and I will press you 5K for data.
Musa from 2011 was a key member of the team involved in the AFCON 2013 and WC 2014. Remember the last qualifying game for AFCON against Liberia that Nigeria won 6-1? Ike Uche and Musa both scored in that game.
Musa was already at worst a squad member of the SE before he was drafted to the u20s to help out.
ChrisKels: Musa and Uche never started together in the same line up. When Uche was a hit, Musa was still a youth international. Musa didn't become relevant in eagles shirt until 2014.
You're right it's not a political thing. Musa is just benefit from an annoying tradition that our powers that be in the football house have of giving players especially captains way past their best undeserving caps. Keshi enjoyed it in 1994, Kanu enjoyed it in 2010, Yobo in 2013, Mikel to some extent in 2019, now Musa.
minfelix: it is that issue people are having gan gan thats making me stand gidigba on this matter to defend him small…….dey can insult me for it, i go give them back My own is that Musa in the 35man provisional squad is not political anything….else we will trace back to all super eagles legend that still got called up while they got to Musa’s age and hell did not let loose….You dont expect a Musa to turn down super eagles invitation especially now that he is playing competitively well in the NPFL…Like i said, he will surely retire any time soon, but you see this 2025, he is doing well especially a super eagles legend in his shape….
