As in! Everyone shouting and backing him won't personally bear the consequences of his foolish actions. Mexico and Canada that infinitely more clout than Ukraine their leaders knew when to 'bend the knee' just so they could get a deal out of Trump on tariffs despite how he goaded them with the gulf of America and 55th US state talk. Reminds me of that Yoruba proverb of calling a mad in-law so you can pass the path he's blocking. raumdeuter: Zelensky is not a wise person. Your people are desperate and need help the country that can help you first you go and join the campaign of Kamala against Trump, you went on a US newspaper and was calling JD Vance the VP candidate a radical. You now allow people whose country are peaceful but have a beef with Trump to push you. Now you have fought US president and VP. Those who pushed you are clapping for you liking your tweet but have all gone to their peaceful country where none of their people are being killed. You have gone back home to your people who need help anyway he got the "I dragged Trump and JD Vance trophy"
It reminds me of people in school during aluta or meeting with school authority who will push you to insult VC and school authorities and hail you as Comrade Aluta, give you fancy Nicknames like Sankara, Gani, Revolution, Freedom fighter
When the consequence of your insult to school authorities result in extra year and expulsion all those who pushed you will be with their certificate in cozy jobs, married with kids and at age 40yrs no certificate, no degree, name don spoil, you will be at newspaper stand forming Aluta while they drive by in their car with their kids and wife. They will now point to you as example of bad students, or those who are generous will still hail you as comrade but will never help you
Yoruba people will call them Ma jo lo, mo wa leyin e.
Keep dancing i dey your back. Until you get mistaken for a mad man dancing alone |

Whether ambush or not he could have controlled his emotions better knowing the kind of Person Trump is. All that clash did is make him look more emotional and easily triggered than Donald which takes a lot of doing. Zelensky knows he F-up reason why he was sounding more conciliatory later in his interview with Fox News. As per paper work the Americans claimed an agreement on Ukrainian minerals had been reached but Zelensky's demand for some guarantees during their botch meeting at the Oval Office threw everyone of hence the antagonism from Vance and co. Theflint1: Was the intent of that meeting a negotiation, or an ambush intended at humiliating him?
I want to imagine before that public meet, there'd have been paper work done behind closed doors so something of an understanding was already reached. |

After watching President Zelensky's clash with Trump I really pity the people of Ukraine.
Donald is far from being my cup of tea but the Ukrainian leader was unwise to put in nicely in the way he handled him. Now a potential path to peace has been stalled for God knows how many months because of Zelensky's lack of tact.
Trump has always been the way he is so handling him requires a lot of ego massaging especially when dealing with him face to face. You can play the unyielding, tough, and uncompromising leader when talking to your base but with Donald so far you need his buy in, you must surely swallow nonsense.
For all the tweets of support European leaders are offering to Zelensky will it actually translate to troops on ground and weapons?
Time will tell. |

Honestly the coach should just zip it. The other penalty goals Lookman scored for Atalanta didn't that show ability? So it's Ademola's fault that a full grown ass man didn't have enough confidence to take a pen? Lookman don turn to psychologist who should be hyping players like he doesn't have enough pressures of his own to deal with. Abeg abeg. TheLoneCitizen: Gasperini doubles down.
"It had an extraordinary impact, everything that came afterwards... mine was not meant to be an offensive sentence," Gasperini said.
"Yesterday in Udinese-Lecce we had what could have been a drama, luckily there were guys who let it go. I would have liked a strong player like Lookman to have made a gesture towards [Charles] De Ketelaere saying: 'Come on keep the ball, put it in'.
"He can become a penalty taker, that would be an additional goal-scoring ability... I always speak in front of the whole team, it has never touched the club. He felt offended, I didn't want to offend anyone." |

Congrats to Lookman on his goal scoring sad he got eliminated along with his team. Should keep his chin up more opportunities to win the big ears will surely arise.
To be very candid I'm shocked by Gasperini's public criticism of Lookman. Which manager publicly downgrades his player one of his best for that matter? Lookman has been one of Atalanta's best performers over the past 2-3 years and didn't deserve that dressing down .
Lookman was within his rights to want to take the penalty after scoring but for the coach to frame the narrative like Ademola is some entitled selfish brat is not on. If the manager was really that bothered then the seclusion of the dressing room is where to address such matters. |

Very insightful observations. USAID gives America that soft power which gives them entry into the third world especially now that China and Russia are slowly encroaching on their turf where they traditionally held sway eg. Ethiopia, Niger. rvp2018: Rich countries/people owes poor people/coutries a duty of care. USAID is 40B a year - 0.1% of US budget - they should ideal spend 2% on such. Bill Gates donates 10B dollar a year. USAID give US soft power. It makes it warring/policing role have human face. Without it US become a bully that will rebel other countries. Why would countries and its citizen support US agendas if it not helping them. China will easily replace US and fill that void
If it about reforming USAID or even UN - excellent - more money will eventually flow into real beneficiary If they deal with redtape and corruption in USAID.
I hope that is the PLAN - send more of that 40B - into programs with proven impact |

Rightly said. Iheanacho was never overhyped by the majority of posters here and even called for him to be dropped from an AFCON squad when his performances that year didn't measure up. Same way most asked for his recall once he started doing well again. ChrisKels: Iheanacho has never been over hyped. His hype was on merit and the hype rightly died down also when he started declining. |

Was reading how USAID has also impacted and aided our agricultural sector over the years. So it's not only health that will be disrupted. As much as part of me wants our leaders to take responsibility instead of using foreign interventions like USAID as excuses to shirk their duties the sudden end to these programs can only have a detrimental effect on heavily reliant countries such as Nigeria. izzou: [color=royalblue]As common as Vitamin A, Nigerian government cannot give its citizens for free.

I think we have improved in a few positions particularly midfield. The top 9 position is the only area that's not really any different from last AFCON. Positions still up for grabs as Osimhen's back up. Hopefully one or two out of Boniface, Awoniyi, KC, Moffi, Sadiq, Dessers, Akor, or Tolu will step up. Wings sorted with Lookman, Simon, and Chukwueze. Ejuke and Tella would be nice additions. Midfield looking more settled with an in form Iwobi and Onyedika. Frank still a tank, Fisayo looking the part and still improving, Potential addition of Chrisantus will boost the midfield. With Daga and Ebenezer on the horizon the middle of the park is looking promising for short to medium term. Defense needs more quality additions especially CB and maybe LB (Bruno is improving). Goalkeeper Nwabali still looking solid. Okoye would be a good back up but his betting issue is a worry. Overall I'm very confident this squad can get to the final if not win the whole thing with sound coaching and luck/divine providence. mekabuachi: Just for fun If afcon was to be played next month do you think SE are in a better position to win it or rather reach the finals just like last year
Or they have declined and would not reach the finals Your opinions guys.. |

If we are to progress the above mentioned players should be excluded from the super eagles with immediate affect. They are of no use to the team and are only occupying space. In all fairness Boniface has been given ample playing time facing the likes of Lesotho, Sao Tome, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and he's still yet to find the back of the net so Egbon Kog45 is within his rights to criticize him. Dessers for all his limitations hasn't enjoying an extended run in the SE yet has goals to his name against solid opposition like Mexico and Ghana. Yes he missed a chance against Mali which forward doesn't? At least he was even in a position to score something I've not seen enough of from Boniface. Yes Victor is obviously more talented but if you can't bring it when it matters most what's the point? Samueltemi337: This is your comment I replied to Saying Boniface is playing nonsense after two matches he started is absurd When we also saw the Dessers you are calling on against Mali and he didn't impress |
