Honestly, they could have engaged in arm wrestling if they really needed to engage in proof of strength. afrodoc: Watch the video again. For that second slam Bassey’s left knee was close to giving way in the wrong direction.
Wrestling requires technique without which it is easy to get injured. Those are 2 silly boys. |

Zidane was more of fluidity of movement almost like a ballerina but Bergkamp's touches would absolutely leave you stranded. Mujtahida: Between him and Zidane I really can't tell who's got a better first touch. That goal against Argentina was all about his incredible first touch. I often say that if I'm a coach teaching young boys, dem go practice their first touch tire to the point they will hate me. |

Watch old clips of Brazil at the WC from 1958-1970 especially 1970 chai joy go nearly choke you from watching 'sexy penetrating passes' Even the misses were beauties to watch. I weep for Brazilian fans having to cope watching modern day scam artists. Mujtahida: That match against Italy - with Zico and Dr Socrates in full, free flow and the defeat is tagged the day football died.
I like beautiful football but I've never been a fan of Brazil. I like their players individually though. |

Yeah Salah looks hot favorite right now. Osimhen if/when he hopefully signs for a big team and starts the new season like a house on fire he could feature in the top 3. Hopefully Victor can get a Balon D'or nomination too. BankyGee: 2nd. I think Salah will win it with all he's done this season. |

I thought you were going to speak to the transport infrastructure of your zone not just free movement. Trading will still be difficult despite an accessible passport if SA companies can get raw materials from Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe due to poor roads or rail infrastructure in the said countries. Happy Easter everyone! AfriqueDuZuid: free movement here one just need passport, good are free
No cases of extortion, i think the only real difference is that the southern people don't really speak a lot about how efficient, smooth and advancing we are |

The more important question for me would be how good is the free movement in your trade zone in terms of logistics, infrastructure and cost of movement of goods e.g. good road network between countries, railway, air travel etc. For ECOWAS people are able to move freely without much hassle at least for Nigeria but the logistics of moving goods isn't so great with quality of connecting roads in various countries ranging from great to absolutely terrible. Plus the customs and law enforcement in different countries vary in their extortion levels. AfriqueDuZuid: Then you surely dont know SACU |

It sounds morbid but it also helps to prevent entire annihilation of family lines. Imagine if the Wigwes or the Siemens CEO who died in the helicopter crash had adopted that strategy maybe some of them will still be alive today. raumdeuter: The first time I heard of this, I was surprised because one girl whenever coming to school will never travel with her brother and I wondered why you take that decision, After I thought about it, it weirdly makes sense from a risk management and Disaster recovery POV
But if the family has one car and you have to say go from Lagos to Ilorin or driving from Maryland to Atlanta, will that mean some will drive and the others will split into 4 different commercial vehicles? |

I don't think anyone is looking at Balogun as a long-term fix but if he can help shore up the back line at least for the remaining WC qualifiers why not? He's still playing at an appreciable level with Rangers plus he's still a key member of the team whose experience will help. I remember for the 2014 WC qualifiers Keshi recalled Nsofor to give our attack extra bite. Even though he didn't make the final squad that went to the WC in Brazil his contribution to us getting there was invaluable. Subzerooo: See I'm Balogun's number one fan in this thread but if we are going back to Balogun in 2025 it means that there is something seriously wrong with the SE |

This highlighted trio in theory should be a perfect blend of steel, ball retention, and grit. For Iwobi I've seen him do well for Fulham on the wings worth trying out especially in place of Chukwueze. If everybody is fit in September later this year by God's grace midfield should be Iwobi, Fisayo, Onyedika, Chrisantus, Onyeka, Ndidi/Yusuf. Balogun could still have an impact when fit definitely a no-nonsense defender. If only Ebuehi could maintain form and fitness would definitely be my ideal back-up for Aina. charlesemeka85: good line up and formation but na Balogun inclusion spoil am
Bro Balogun is 37 and not even a regular for Rangers. We have CBs who are younger and can fit in perfectly in that role even if u don’t want Ekong anymore just because of the mistake he made against Zimbabwe
I would prefer to retain Bassey as LCB and maybe try out Ogbu at RCB with Aina as RB and Onyemaechi at LB
This method of writing a player off just because of a mistake he made in a particular game isn’t encouraging at all
Chukwueze hv been poor of late and I will prefer having iwobi in his position as an inverted LW who can easily come into the middle to create chances for the team then hv onyeka replace him in midfield
A midfield trio of onyeka and Uche as CDM and B2B then onyedika as DLP/DM is worth experimenting
Ndidi and Fisayo can serve as cover on the bench |

Scored against Championship Cardiff what an achievement after better players did the main work against Man U where Kanu (no surprises) was MIA. Led the line when Arsenal will be finishing second double digits points behind Man U before Wenger borrow sense give am seat belt for bench. Okocha went to Bolton turned relegation candidates to top 10 performers. Kanu went to West Brom left them relegated Went to Pompey left them relegated APOTY for winning underage tournament and scoring hatrick against Chelsea abeg abeg. andrewbaba44: Kanu scored at the fa cup finals with his goals helping Pompey to win the fa cup ,Pompey is a small club just as Bolton but kanu helped them to win the fa cup ,why can’t your okocha do that for Bolton
Didn’t your okocha took part at the Carling cup finals and lost
Kanu didn’t hide under any umbrella of performance to win any trophy for Pompey

CAPtain Andrew long time. Sorry your Anti-Okocha agenda no go jump let alone fly andrewbaba44: Firstly Premier league legacy was the point of this argument .
Kanu and mikel played for big clubs on their prime ,okocha was only the main man at Bolton and fenerbache that’s all ,put him on that arsenal team that has Henry Bergkamp and co he won’t even be the 5th main man ,let me not even go to the Chelsea team mikel played for
If they arrange the best African Epl XI he will never be found on the starting 11 ,so please spare me all these crap .

There's no way there will be a conversation about Nigeria's greatest midfielders and you won't mention Mikel but as a 10 hmmm open to debate. Napoleon55: OK,no problem, but u should include Mikel if Etim is to be included, because he was a marvel to watch in that midfield position before Mourinho converted him to a holding midfielder.
Even though it was a youth tournament, but the way he dominated midfield in the final match against Argentina, not many Nigerian players could do it that way. |

The Aluu lynchings was a particularly bad experience. Young men killed in their prime for being in the wrong place and time. diggz: To be honest, I can’t like Izzous post enough. Today, it’s the hunters from the North; tomorrow, it could be an Edo man from another village or local government area.
Anytime I read some opinions on here, I just shake my head. I believe most people have never experienced close-to-death situations or seen/experienced tribal wars firsthand. Anyone who lived through the famous Warri wars in the '90s, or those who attended university in the '90s and early 2000s, would know how quickly things can change for the worse.
Nigeria is a unique country where people are generally lowkey wicked by default, or maybe na the ongoing hardships naim dey bring out the worst in people because this issue goes beyond north or south, but the characters of the people in Naija. Even individuals aren’t safe from people in their own state or region, as they might belong to a different tribe or family.
For example, I remember a bad experience from the late '90s. I was with my two older brothers and a driver, driving through one of the villages in the Isoko part of Delta State, heading to an event in another village when our vehicle was stopped by unruly youths protesting an ongoing issue in their town. They surrounded our vehicle, and someone was screaming to burn it down. Unfortunately, none of us spoke Isoko, and these people were already using things to smash the vehicle. To cut a long story short, God helped us reach our destination safely, but we had to take a longer route back to Warri.
While I understand the people’s anger, jungle justice is a no-go for me.
Until e reach your turn or any member of your family naim una go understand wetin dey sup!
May God not allow Nigeria to happen to us all! |
