Sammiejokes:

Thanks so much dear for the useful information, I actually applied got admissions to fanshawe college ( city of london) two hours from Toronto and Seneca college in Toronto. I have till June 2017 to pay for any of the college but I also need your input from experience. I have a friend he works with KPMG in Toronto and he is a permanent resident now, can I use him as additional sponsor will it boost my application.

Well like I said I didn't pay anything and you may really not need to except it's a requirement on your offer letter. But if you want to, you can. As for the additional sponsor, I'm not very sure on this. Please michV, mikymiko, tarry, brandymcmb and other gurus here, come to my aid in answering sammiejokes question about sponsorship. Thank you.

Sammiejokes:

Hi Chrissybaybee, please I like to know if you paid the installment payment before applying and also do I need to submit English test result since I was given admission without English test requirements.

Hi Sammiejokes, are you for Durham college as well? I didn't pay anything before applying because as at when I applied (October), I had till December 1st to pay. However, Rosemary- Durhams rep for West Africa said payments will still be received after this date. For English test result, when I was about applying to them, I called the Admissions Office and they said English Test results are not required for Nigeria because we are already an English speaking country. They even took out the English Test column on my Application portal so I think you should be fine.

ofcourse they will, they will staple your study permit to your passport, that is why they collect it. NEVER leave your documents in your checked in luggage, always have them in your hand luggage. if you are booking a connecting flight, be sure to confirm if you need to transfer your luggage by yourself or not, otherwise you may arrive Canada with no bags shocked

JESUS!!! No bags keh! Impossible...we wee kee ourselves there. I hear that's common with royal air maroc. Thank you for the tips.

Chrissybaybee, how did you go about the source for Dollars? Or did you finally use Form A?

No I didn't use Form A. It was getting too difficult with plenty stories. My mom's friend is taking me to her 'Aboki' tomorrow, I'll buy from him and pay into my dom account with gtb and then go ahead to pay. She told us the guy is at Alade Market and can be trusted. For USD, u can try Alade if you are in Lagos but I don't know if they will have CAD.

Try Flighthub, CheapOair, Expedia, Gala travels. The fare might be better but it will still be high because you are booking late for a busy period for that matter. Point of entry, they will just ask you want you are coming to Canada for, what school, course, blabla, collect your passport, some other docs( like admission letter) and give you your permit.

Thanks. I'll check them out now. Hope they will return the passport o. That means I'll have to hand carry my admission letter and few other documents.

Hello House
Please who knows how & where I can get a cheap flight to Toronto against 28th of December? Please don't tell me to check wakanow because their prices are outrageous. Also, to those who just picked up their passports, my passport was dispatched on Monday, when can I pick it up? Lastly, those already in Canada, what are we likely to face at the point of entry? tongue

You can use 'western union global pay' but you will have to source for dollar to pay into your Dom account.

thanks for acknowledging us,meanwhile i commend other gurus here always helping in their unpaid contributions.i am glad that you are happy finally.
Concerning FORM.A,for easy process let your mum talk to her account officer or walk into the branch of the bank she frequents and rub mind with the manager of the branch.
FORM.A window opens once in a while for banks to transact and directives always come from each bank's HQs sending mails to their branches.so when banks have pending applications they had collected, they process it immediately within the time frame given to them for the day.
Finally come and give me "chilled mortuary standard" drink and a plate of isiewu to join you in this celebration cheesy

Lol..no problem. But 'chilled mortuary standard' - choi... The one I know is Andre rose so that's what I'll give you lol. Meanwhile I went to the bank this morning and they said no form A for now and dat they don't have dollars. They started annoying me so I left. I actually met someone that said if I have a dom account, it would help but ild have to source for dollars myself. I have a dom account but if I can get usd, do u know how I can go about the payment? Sorry for my plenty questions please, last year when I paid fees, it was with form A. Pls the qtn is not only for michV but to everyone who has an idea on how I can pay using my dom account? I will really appreciate feedbacks because I have to pay by December else I'll lose my seat.

Statement of account (4.3m) - my sponsor transferred 4m to my account and stated in her sponsorship letter that it's for my travel expenses and upkeep while in Canada for the duration of my study period (1 year)
I was not working but I stated in my sop that I am currently into mobile catering, 'make up' and a fashion designer which are all Bourne out of passion (I didn't even add any form of evidence)

I didn't pay any fees because I had till December to pay. I'll go ahead and pay the required fee to confirm my seat (I'll need help here please because I don't know how it's done now since form A has been barned)
I submitted my application on the 6th of October, I don't know when I passed medicals because I was not notified (I used paper route). Approval mail came in today.

How I tackled my 1st refusal reasons:
It was HRM in centennial college. I was refused based on:
Travel History
Family ties in Canada and country of residence
Personal assets and financial status
Purpose of visit
Current employment situation.

I was denied in November last year.
For travel history: I traveled to Dubai, South Africa, Ghana, kenya, (Jerusalem-Italy-Greece-this was a promo advertised to my mom's coy by a travel agency for 610k to the 3places so we jumped at it)

Family ties: I added my siblings and dads birth certificates, certificate of origin & intl passport data page and also stated in my sop that after my study program I would return to my home country to be closer to my family (na so lol) and then I added my sponsors 2nd land documents. For financial status, I added my account and also stated the transfer from my sponsor to my account in my sop.

Purpose of visit: i studied computer science in school and went for HRM but I guess I was wrong (I actually thought doing a PGD was beneficial to those who wanted to change careers but maybe it's not the same with Canada) so I opted for a related course in computer science. I stated in my sop how the course will be beneficial to me academically and in my home country.

Current employment situation: I noticed it was because I had no work experience in HRM so I included all my past employment letters from companies where I worked in their IT dept. I also included my past IT certification course certificates. I don't know if that helped.

I was able to do all these because of all I learnt on this forum especially from the gurus michV & co.

Well that's all I did. My current course is for 8months and I'm told ild have to do another course after this if I want 3years work permit...arrrrrgh. TBH, this is why I wanted UOIT because the course I opted for was for one year and it's msc, I could have been done in one year but I'm not complaining, I still thank God for this opportunity.

please I'll need help on how to go about in paying my fees o...Abeg don't abandon me + any Durham college applicant for winter 2017?? Please let's rub minds, accommodation and all.

I wish all TRV hopefuls the best. Don't give up, it will come out positive. Amen.

God Bless you all and sorry for my long post.

Hello my dear brothers and sisters, I've been silent on the thread because I was really scared after I submitted my application. TBH, I was not even reading posts here again so I don't get sad and discouraged. I was truly scared. I mentioned here once that I was sure I was going to get my msc admission to UOIT but my dear friends, I was not accepted cry. But while I was waiting for that UOIT admission, something in me prompted me to apply to Durham college for a similar course I intended studying in UOIT just in case. I was very reluctant to apply to Durham because I was too sure about UOIT (I met their admission requirements or so I thought) but eventually I did and got their acceptance letter in 4days lol. As sad and as reluctant as I was in applying for my TRV with my PGC admission because of all I had seen here & being that this was my second application though the first was PGD in HRM which was not what I studied in my undergraduate years, I summoned up the courage to put up a good application (not the best) and I went ahead to submit. I prayed and asked my God to do the rest for me despite what man says and as a God who never fails, He didn't let me down. I got my approval mail this morning, I also tracked and saw passport dispatched. I did upfront medicals. Truly, God answers prayers and does things in His own way and at His own time. Though PGC was not what I really wanted, who am I to complain. I believe I will still achieve the best with this. The way my parents are happy ehnnn, its as if they are the ones traveling. They are even happier than I am. I want to thank you all for your contributions; MichV, arcayo, Tarry & everyone else. I want you all to know that God's ways are not man's ways.

I will list the documents I submitted and how I tried to tackle the refusal reasons in my first application.

can you specifically tell us ''the large sum oo''(NO1 knows you/ur house) in the personal/savings account you would want to transfer and the month/date you want to apply? so that we would know if you can start making bit by bit self deposit to the salary account from the savings acct. to my knowledge a saving account is meant for savings which would not require constant outflow.so your mother could state i saved up this money in my savings account for the purpose of my precious daughter's education in canada which will cover so so and so..while this sum in my salary account is also meant to cover this specific aspect

We are a family here I suppose, so i believe we all want the best for each other that's why we have people like you here on this forum. She intended transferring 11-15m. We were just worried about how the vo will view it (lodgment or something) because the last time she had such amount in her checking account was I think in jan or feb that's why I asked how to explain the sudden amount now. I think I'll stick to ur advice of submitting the two accounts. Thanks for the clarification on the savings account.

May I pm you though?

BE811APP:
Explain to her..

Doesnt she have Internet Banking on the accounts
Let her transfer the money with ease no stress..

Tell her that "If she transfers the whole Cash at once the Visa Officer might consider it Lodgement"
If the sum is so much tell her "EFCC will look into her account" lol.. That was a joke..

Bottomline, Just make her know u have more advantages if its transferred in bits..

Secondly, Take MichV's and Brandcmb's advice.. you can submit the 2 bank statements..

All the best!!!

Lol. No need for EFCC, the money is not plenty like that...I have seen a lot more being mentioned on here...lol. Yh, she has Internet banking. We all are trying to be extra careful with our applications especially now that things are this way in our country. Any little thing can trigger a refusal on the VO's part. Thanks dear.

Haaa!! The Boss himself answered my question. Thanks. But hope it won't be a problem because the savings account does not have good in/outflow. I read somewhere here that the VO's are not really concerned about the closing balance, they are more concerned about the in/outflow that's why we decided to use her salary account but she has more money saved up in her savings than her salary's hence the transfer.

She should transfer the money to her salary account in bits.. Maybe like 500k in 2 days interval...

If she transfers more than a million at once.. she will have to write a letter of explanation!

Good Luck dear!!!

Thanks for your response. You have a brilliant point but she's transferring a large sum o, that's exactly where the issue is, just how to explain it in her letter. Pls what do u think?

Please someone shd answer me....puuuuuulllllllllleeeeeeaaaaasssssseeeeee

Another reason why people rarely comment.

I posted something on her transfering some amount to your account with an explanation of what it is for. Why transfer from her personal to salary?
You better start cajoling the sponsor before you encounter stories that touch!

@ray12345 take note too.

#feel free to yarb me, I care less#

Because like I said, there is more inflow in her salary account than her savings account. If she submits her savings account without in/outflow, won't that be their 'insufficient funds' denial reason?? About transferring to my account, that will still be done.

Thanks anyway.

Good day house. Please I need your help in answering this question.
My sponsor wants to transfer the money for my studies & d whole Canada tingy from her savings account to her salary account. We will be submitting her salary account to d embassy. Please how do we explain this in her sponsorship letter, (the transfer between accounts) Her savings acct isn't as active as her salary acct which has more in/outflow. So we are a little confused on how to put this down in writing. I told her to wait first, lemmy ask the gurus I know somewhere grin

Please someone shd answer me....puuuuuulllllllllleeeeeeaaaaasssssseeeeee

Hi all..please can someone be kind enough to explain the difference between a 'sop' & loe' to me. I actually thought the statement of purpose is used when applying for admission in a school while the letter of explanation is what is submitted to the embassy alongside your application.

Ild appreciate more light on this please, anyone.
Thanks.

Hearing this for the first time. This cannot be a reason for refusal...maybe insufficient funds or something on his part but definitely not 'economic recession'

She should explain the source of recent deposit if it is recent and significantly larger than her previous deposit transactions. So if for instance she got the money from sale of property, she could mention it and include the receipt. Having said this, it also depends on the VO. Some VOs might not mind that it was a sudden deposit, but I'd rather play it safe and explain.
This is completely fine, and is a wise decision. It may also help if you mention this transfer (and its purpose) in your SOP or a brief "Explanation of Finances" writeup that you attach to your application; sometimes it helps to strategically repeat certain information multiple times in your application.

Okay. This is super helpful. Thank you thesoj!! Thanks too Arcayo.

Hello House
Thank you for your help so far & may God continue to Bless you all.

Ok so I'll be submitting my sponsors sal acct. she usually has a monthly inflow of 800k-1.2m. In Jan, she had over 10m in her acct but has since then not had up to dat except about 2-3months ago when she had about 3-4m in her account.

My qtn now is, if she puts in 10-15m in her account, will this seem like Lodgment to d VO? Or will this be fine based on her monthly inflow?

Secondly, she wants to transfer about 3m to my account and explain in her sponsorship letter that this is to aid my transportation to Canada as well as my accommodation while in Canada. Mind you, my account has not really been active, never had such amount in it. Will this be a good idea? My program is for one year.

Please kindly respond.

yes birth certificates, intl p.p data page suffice for families but your unemployed status now is an issue, your job will have been another home ties. A job will help your application even if you don't have asset or personal statement of account but if you have a sponsor with adequate fund and can be convincing on why he will commit the required amount you should be fine.

if you are a fresh graduate, having families here; e.g; parents and siblings will suffice for home ties, what is more important is you have a sponsor with sufficient fund and related to you and your course will enhance your career

Thank you Tarry. Really appreciate. I'm no fresh graduate, I actually graduated in 2011, served 2012-2013. Been working since then but I'm currently unemployed now. (Since October last year).

Can I prove family ties with birth certificates, intl p.p data page, family pictures, certificate of origin or just include in my sop dat I will be returning back to family in my home country after my study period. Sorry for all d qtns...I just want to get these right. Will appreciate more light on proving family ties.
