Delusion at it's peak grin grin
Lmao so Ten Hag won't win the trophies at Madrid?

Y'll can't just see past your hatred for whoever is at the hot seat at the moment at the club.

You'd think Ten Hag is a rookie that's never won anything in his life the way y'all talk about him on here.

You are known for twisting statements, and making arguments from your head.

Why won't I compare with Madrid.
We are the best team in England. Madrid is the best in Spain.

Was it not the same Madrid we snatched Yoro from?

Do you know how big a club will be that players will want to go there even while playing in Europa? That's how big we are.

I shouldn't even be arguing with you because you don't even know the status of the club you are supporting. Maybe you are an arsenal fan.
This is the link to your thread: https://www.nairaland.com/810639/arsenal-fans-thread-finally-reborn
Lmao na this delusion no let any of us rest for here.

Una on this thread sometimes ehhn. In one breathe y'all are talking about how we massively overpaid to sign Yoro, in another breathe, we won a battle against Madrid for Yoro(Means we're the same level). Totally ignoring any context lmao.

Madrid aren't pressed for a CB, they made the minimum take or leave it bid. Hoping to get him for free. Yoro delayed for weeks and decided to sign for United when the writing on the wall became obvious.

If the delusion you're in was a reality, we'd have Bruno, Camavinga and Bellingham in our midfield. It's pure delusional talks, that's why we have to build a well drilled system that makes up for all of that.

Ten Hag can literally set up that Madrid team like he set up Man Utd in his first season and win everything. That's facts.

The bolded statement dey vex me. Because Mount was the choice candidate of your darling Ten Hag. The clown is even wearing our number 7. 55m would have gotten you a decent player. But you chased mount all summer long.

Saying I should not draw comparison to Madrid. Go to your thread where expectations are low. https://www.nairaland.com/810639/arsenal-fans-thread-finally-reborn
Anyone unbiased mind with a brain that's watched our games so far would see the role Mount's meant to play in the team. There's a huge difference between the 1st and 2md half at Brighton. It's only unfortunately guy's been riddled with injuries.

My point with going for players like Mount, Casemiro and co as against going for players like Bellingham, Mbappe and co is as clear as anything. The expectations directly match.

What we want to do at United is build a system and structure. Even average players thrive in good systems. Players like Ugarte, Zirkzee, Yoro and co are risks that'll pay off in a well structured team.

At Madrid you don't need all of that special sh*t. This thing is simple.

Conveniently removing Bruno and Pogba to suit agenda. Same coach that brought in Mount as a key signing. Don't make me laugh. Or someone who wasted the whole summer transfer window trying to get De Jong, only to end up falling back to Casemiro.

See, the structure is here now, in the coaching crew, and management. So there is no excuse for him not to deliver.
You're not even making sense. Pogba?

Don't forget we're making comparisons to Madrid. Madrid won't go for a Mount? Why? They'd go for the best available. The likes of Bellingham.

I'm not here to argue with you about United's structure and what not. We've done that enough last season. Just don't try to draw comparisons between us and Madrid to push one silly agenda.

Ole got the job because the team was struggling and not because the fan base was critical of Mourinho; if Ole's team hadn't shown good potential, he wouldn't have landed the job permanently. It has nothing to do with whatever the fans or legends said, it was the most logical decision then to hand him the job permanently.

If at the end of the season, we don't make the top 4 and have a strong run in one of the cup competitions we're competing for, Erik ten Hag will be shown the door and that will be down to the poor performance of the team and not what the fans or legends of the club say.

In case you don't know, Madrid's fan base is even more impatient; Modric was labelled a flop, and they have booed even some of their greatest players when they're not performing or when they misyarn. This has not stopped them from winning; the standards there are so high. I make bold to say that at United or Liverpool or any other English club, Bellingham won't be putting in so much effort, but because he knows that at Madrid it's either you step up or get butted out, he has to work very hard to keep his place in the team.
You get my point about Ole but just wan drag talk. Ole was given the job as an interim. The most logical thing was to wait till the end of the season to give him the permanent job. But everyone was shouting give him the job now! It was the most logical thing to give him the job at the point they gave him? Lmao.

My point about Madrid is so simple. The pressure and expectations are high. But they match the talents available at the club. I don't believe I need to write another epistle to explain how different this is for United in comparison to Madrid.

Ronaldo actually was the end of OGS. We got Sancho and we were already salivating how trio of Sancho, Rashy/Martial and Greenwood would be terrorising, mesmerising the opponents - boom! We signed Ronaldo that must be fit-in at all costs.

OGS would forever regret saying yes to Ronaldo signing, even though he had no choice as well.
Lmao we all said it then, and we looked like pure haters.

The season before Ronaldo came was so crazy. Our forwards on transition, Jesus! And then Ronaldo came into the equation......

Don't even know who to blame. I don't even blame Woodward and co. Were we going to allow Ronaldo move to our rivals?

It's only Man United coaches that impatience of fans affects.

Why doesn't it affect Madrid coaches?

We are in our rough patch. But the fans job is not to be patient.
Lmao I laugh when anyone throws in Madrid in any conversation.

A United manager meets players like Mctominay, Fred, VDB and co and try to build something from there. You know the equivalent at Madrid?

The marque signings that were brought in to push us to title contenders were literally Madrid leftovers lmao.

If Madrid sees a hole in their right wing that desperately need filling, they'll go for Saka. If the hole's at CB, they'll go for Saliba.

At Madrid, there's literally no excuse. You have the best players, you should be winning things. Simple! Everyone understands this. The coach, the players, the fans.

The same fan base that couldn't make LVG change his style or Mourinho to stop playing cowardly football? Is the fan base really that powerful?
We were all about getting back to glory days then. So no one cared about style of play. And immediately results started going left, everyone turned.

So yeah, the fanbase is powerful. We saw the horrible football wasn't even going to come with the trophies we want and everyone said nahhh. There's a reason Ole got the job after.

Since it is his 3rd season, we must play better than teams that have been settled for years, and must win the league too
Like I don't understand. It's that type of impatience from the fanbase that made Ten Hag throw away style of play after that loss to Brentford in his first season.

The fanbase is huge, most so impatient; So many United legends are pundits now and those ones don't waste time to draw conclusions and judgements. That's how they keep their jobs. A rebuild will be so difficult at this club.

Early days?

After how many seasons?
You can forget about any gradual build up of system and style of play and shout Ten Hag out whenever you don't see beautiful football with great results every match. And let's see what that does for you. Cuz I don't understand anymore.

We all saw how the first 2 seasons were. Anyone without any agenda will agree this is the season to start building things up. Everything's in place now. So all these '3rd year' talk dey muzz me.

Our playing style has indeed improved and we keep the ball better compared to last season, bald fraud is getting help from his new coaching crew in this area. Hope they also help him with his selection and substitution going forward.
How he doesn't see that the team need a proper 9 i don't know, Zirkzee on the pitch is more of a false 9 than a proper one..
Damn, I thought I'd come into this thread and see lamentations without anyone pointing out the obvious. You're absolutely right.

You can clearly see the way we want to play. The pressing, short passes, the build up from the back. It's so clear. Though it might look a bit laborious now, it's still early days.

We really should've won but luck wasn't on our side. We'll lose some games like this, this season. It's expected. The target is top 4.

The double standards is the issue here...

The previous administration was castigated for these same things that are currently being complained about...

If na last season, Mourtough's head would currently be on a spike for "approving" that Yoro transfer

The irony is that we keep using Madrid as the standard of how we should be, yet that same Madrid walked away from the Yoro deal for obvious reasons - that price is ridiculous and outrageous for an unknown 18yr old with just one year left on his contract

Our performance in the transfer window has been giving some dejavu vibes so far - I never see any difference between the current proceedings and what panned out in the immediate past TWs and we all know who the common denominator is cheesy

When season starts properly, further assessment would be done though..
Are you people going to react the same way every time we pay huge transfer fees for a player, no matter the context?

There are so many wrong things in your post. You said Madrid walked away and tried to use that to criticize the way we went about the transfer. Forgetting that we're not in the same situation. We're trying to fill huge holes in the team. They're buying for the future. They have the luxury, we don't.

How can this be giving you dejavu vibes when we've completed 4 transfers just before the beginning of the season without too much fuss.

Ratcliffe and co won't walk away from a player they truly believe in because they're trying to make one silly point lmao.

Imagine we need a goalkeeper and Inneos are about splash 72m on a relatively unknown goalkeeper from Roma, there'll be so much tears online. That's how you miss out on an Allison.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c7209jxjn45o
Like I said, based on different factors, you decide to pay high for a player and walk away from others. That's how it works.

And that one year one contract sh*t means nothing cuz we couldn't have gotten him for free next year.

So spending close to 60million on a new goalkeeper was worth it? Did Onana make any difference to our defense last season. De gea is gone. No need arguing over that issue again..

When won't we spend on a new goalkeeper? Should've stuck to Degea till eternity then.

I bin think say these kind things go don stop o

At least that's what we were told
If you apply that method in every transfer, we'll end up missing out on many top players. We've not yielded on our valuation of Ugarte and De Ligt. But we paid a large sum for Yoro.

So many factors are considered before deciding who we'll splash the cash on and who we're ready to lose out on.

Me too, the situation is frustrating. INEOS is also trying to stop that stupid United tax. So far they want to buy players on their terms not just the selling club's terms.

They've refused to bulge on Ugarte's stated fee, De Ligt and Mazraoui also. We need a little patience all round but I hope ETH won't serve us the rubbish football he served us last year.
The thing is I hope we get our signings in asap cuz we can't play Casemiro or mctominay in midfield and expect good football. Man will still try to get results so might need to do what works.

We need to get our targets in as fast as possible.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristoBam: 11:03pm On Aug 09, 2024
Just seen how much Degea was earning at United and how much he's earning now. Can't believe some really wanted us to keep him and were dragging things here regularly.

Nice and loyal guy but he's past it and everyone knows it apart from a section of the fanbase. How do you pay someone no decent club wants 400k plus lmao.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristoBam: 4:43am On Jul 28, 2024
Smh, what's all these tears because of a friendly. Don't know if they started playing badly after the injuries cuz I bailed after that. But it was really good up to that point.

Annoying thing is if we had played well and won, it's a friendly, we also won the preseason friendly last season. But as we come lose, Ten Hag is absolutely useless? Smh. Season never even start.

Dalot might not be special but he is better suited to the way the bald headed man want to play than AWB.
Dalot is really underrated in the team. All our most important games, he's always balled like crazy and never gotten any hype.

The FA cup final for example, watch the highlights and see how well Dalot balled. Important games he was played out of position and asked to mark out players like Salah, Saka, man did his job excellently.

He's just spent a lot of his time here battling a starting spot with Bissaka that most people think is average. So they'll probably never rate him that high.

He is actually. Inter would kill and throw Dumfries into the bins if they had a chance to get Dalot.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I've always genuinely believed Dumfries won't do that great for us. I guess the recruitment team also thinks the same.

I prefer AWB to that guy. With Dalot and AWB, there's a bit of balance with the skillsets they possess, with Dumfries the balance becomes skewed.
Problem is when Dalot gets injured, we'll have to play a totally different way on that side of the pitch with Bissaka. That's not the way it should work.

Although I'm also sad about selling a specialist like Bissaka.

Lol you can't back out because of that. I believe Madrid would have solved their CB weakness before that time. They could go for Saliba next summer. Yoro being world class doesn't mean they'll go for him.

If Madrid wants any of Saliba, Odeegard, Garancho, Palmer and any of these top young players in the future, they'll get them. If you like dey run from players wey love Madrid.
