Most coaches are so stubborn. You sign a player that is not doing well, shit happens, bench him but not ETH and Arteta...

Pep no dey waste time...
Not everyone has the war chest Pep deals with.

Antony is a cross he'll have to bear till the summer. Same for Harvertz at Arsenal.

Even Klopp can't bench an 100m mistake.

One of the worst mistakes we've ever made was hiring Ten Haag.

This man scammed us. With 9 minutes of extra time, there was no need removing our only attacking life line in Garnacho. He was the only one capable of starting our counter or causing problem for the opponents. Yet this idîot removed him and packed defenders everywhere.

We're just lucky to win this one after missing plethora of chances. And Antony is nothing but an idìot. Ten Haag needs to be sacked for just signing that fool.
Imagine this comment after a good victory away at Wolves. You'd think Wolves is Luton or something. Very difficult team to beat away and they've also kinda been our boogey team for years.

Seems the default settings for some of you is to scream for the manager's sack every game.

Seunpapa65:
New Manchester United Chief Executive Officer Omar Berrada used Harry Maguire as an example of how not to do transfer business during his column with the Athletic.

The former City CFO stated, “when you make investments of that type [rushing to sign a player], when you get it wrong it has a significant impact over many years so we needed to get it [Dias’ transfer] right at the right valuation at the right time but more importantly for the right player”.

“In the same way that we didn’t rush into buying a centre-back last season after not wanting to sign Maguire for that valuation, this summer we had a very clear idea of what we wanted and fortunately we got the player we wanted at the valuation that we wanted”.

Moving on from Omar's words, from a fan perspective, You don’t need to be a football finance expert to know that a major flaw of the Old Trafford side’s post-Ferguson era is panic buying players for an obscene amount of money.

Maguire is an obvious example but the £70m on Casemiro after chasing Frenkie de Jong all summer has already been flagged up by INEOS and they may even be willing to lose £20m to part ways with the midfielder.

Antony is another ludicrous example of panic overpaying for a player. Club scouts labelled the player as a £25m player but United went on to panic at the end of the 2022 window and pay an eye-watering £82.2m to get the deal over the line.

#PremierLeague
I hope we get it right this time with transfer
If we dig deep into the operations of the club last 10 years or so, you'd understand the reason this club is a death trap for any manager. I don't care how good you are. You come here, you fail.

Going by this same logic, is it not safe to say DDG was over performing?
.
We were solid last season Sha. We mostly had consistent pairings in front of the GK. And a Casemiro performing at his best shielding the back 4. Context matters.

The structure we've been shouting about for years is finally being built. And it's looking more impressive than we ever imagined.

*Sir Dave Brailsford as Sports Director for inneos.
* Omar as CEO
* Dan Ashworth as football director
*Hopefully Paul Mitchell as head of recruitment.

If this gets matched with good investments, even average managers will thrive.

How can a sane person quote a question and not post the answer.

Its simple what makes Omar Berrada a football CEO and not Woodward
What makes David Gill a football CEO and not Ed Woodward given both backgrounds
There are many successful clubs with non footballing CEOs

I know how this will end, AFter Omar does not offer any improvement, the end it will be its not just the CEO its Glazer. Glazer must go like say the money Glazer is spending will be blue and the money Saudi is spending will be yellow
All I see is ramblings from a bitter opposition fan. More of hoping things will fail rather than banking on a past event that can point to this.

Woodward is an established failure as a football CEO. It'll take an high level of delusion to even argue against this.

You don't need a solid background in football to be a good CEO. Can we appoint someone without it and actually be able to turn things around? Definitely!

But it's definitely far better to appoint someone with a good history of doing what is needed at the club. We are at a point we can take Zero risks. Everything has to work.

Woodward is not a football CEO and Omar is based on evidence. One tried it out and failed massively. The other has worked in similar capacity and is a success. It's not rocket science.

One of the first major transfers under Woodward was Fellaini.

Man was available for a certain amount on a release clause but we somehow didn't make the signing until deadline day. Meaning we had to pay extra millions.

That type of uselessness when it comes to transfer negotiation became a norm until today.

I went through the last page and was shocked at the absolute nonsense I was met with. I usually don't give that tag to posts on here which represents the ideas of others. But how else can one describe some of the atrocious things you posted.

Like how can a sane person say this. "Is Omar Berrada more of a football person than Ed Woodward?"

You then went ahead and said other nonsense.

I don't know why only meet takes like this one Nairaland these days tbh.

What is the chance that all these players were bad players

Alexis, Maguire, Bissaka, Fred, Mata, Falcao, Rojo, Martial Depay Schneiderlin, Darmian Bailly Mhkitaryan, Pogba Lukaku, Matic Lindelof, Dan James, Telles, Cavani, Diallo, Ronaldo,

Mount Amrabat Onana
😂😂😂 Did you even see some of the players you listed?

Cavani was really good here. Till his second season that he faked injury all year.
Matic was past his best but was still really decent for us.

And why're you even including Mount that has been injured most of the season. Or Onana that joined like months ago. Their United story just began.

Point is you're listing mids to prove a silly point. Imagine we signed some of the other mids we were linked to like Bellotti, Morata, Pau Torres and the likes. You for say na United be problem.

The point is if Man utd had bought Haaland pr Gundogan they would have been flops as well while if City buys Sancho and Miki they would have excelled and we will be here blaming Dortmund for selling them bad players like Haaland and Gundogan
Haha this is silly. Mhiki went to Arsenal after United. What stopped him from achieving things there lol.

Bruno came here and totally turned the team around. That's a real quality player with the right mindset. Same as Martinez. The quality is obvious. Even Casemiro that's obviously gotten a bit slower has shown real quality here.

Haaland and Gundogan at United wouldn't be as scary as they are/were at City but they definitely would still be a huge hit at the club.

How are other teams able to identify their 1% and Man utd unable to?

Sancho Haaland and Bellingham all dey from.the same Dortmund. The 2 are doing great at their new clubs na only the one you buy became bad

Gundogan Aubameyang and Mhikitaryan were all from the same Dortmund side, 2 did great only the one Man Utd bought became bad

Even the ones signed from the same EPL like Alexis Lukaku Maguire Mata joined and became bad

Man utd even made one of the greatest players of his generation look bad
At this point you're just arguing for the sake of it.

You're asking how we couldn't identify the 1%. Isn't that the whole point? For years we had an accountant deciding the incomings and outgoings at the club. We've never had real competent hands in charge of the club. That's the whole fvcking point?

All you did with all the Dortmund players you listed was buttress my point that we are clueless when it comes to recruitment.

What is the likelihood that over 20 players all doing great in their clubs all landed in United and immediately became shitt

Alexis, Maguire, Bissaka, Fred, Mata, Falcao, Rojo, Martial Depay Schneiderlin, Darmian Bailly Mhkitaryan, Pogba Lukaku, Matic Lindelof, Dan James, Telles, Cavani, Diallo, Ronaldo,

Mount Amrabat Onana are already looking funny

How many you see for that list up there
How many of these players went on to achieve great things after leaving United? There lies the answer you're searching for.

Falcao, Mkhi, Lukaku and James even went to other EPL teams and were still shit after. Still trying to blame that on United?

The thing is the players that can actually cut it at the level expected for a United player is less than 1% of the total crop of talented players. We have issues identifying the one percent.

If you cant name 5 transfers in 10yrs who have been successful maybe its not the players with the problem but your club

Proven performers like DiMaria, Alexis, Pogba, Schweinsteiger who have been successful at other clubs and at their country came to your club and looked out of place
All these would make sense if any of them left United and went on to become extraordinary for another team.
Shweinsteiger and Alexis were past their prime when they came here.
Pogba was never going to be that player that'll give you at least a constant 7/10 performance. What he needed was a club that his below-par performances would go largely unnoticed.
DiMaria never wanted to be at United and it was obvious from early on.

Like I said, our recruitment is so terrible.

Can you provide links? I thought Rangnick was our caretaker manager in his last few months at Utd? So, Murtough cut off communications with one of the most important person in the club at that time? Plus, we all knew ETH was getting the job months before, and the board/management was happpy to have both of them work together. That was the plan!

ETH came and said he needed a fresh start. Not interested in working with him. It was a condition he had prior to signing his contract.

Same ETH wants to keep his player recruitment role, and is trying to block any improvement Sir Jim wants in that regard. No be juju be that?
Just like I said, it's all about Ten Hag out that's why everyone's trying to put this on Ten Hag and basically develop amnesia to everything that was going on then.

And stop making up things!! At the point ETH was hired, no one was excited about them working together. Relationship between Rangnick and Murtough had broken down before then.

I'm pretty sure you reacted to 'The Athletic's' exclusives about Rangnick's time at United, so why you come dey feign ignorance now.

As for your last paragraph, he's not trying to block anything. It's all about negotiation. At the end, they'll agree with something that works. It's super obvious but y'all won't see it cuz anythingg negative about Ten Hag give y'all hard-ons.

Go back to confirmed news about Rangnick's time at United.

The last few months he was at the club, Murtough cut communications with him. This is someone he wass supposed to act as an advisor to.

Rangnick's time ended long before ETH was appointed. Everyone knows this apart from those looking for reasons to be Ten Hag out.

When people mention you when we lose you get upset but you are quick to come for those who rightfully criticise the coach and players after every poor performance.

Against Aston Villa, we were very poor in the first half and were 2 goals down which saw a lot of folks register their displeasure with the performance as should be the case. In the second half the team bounced back and we won and folks here praised the display but you drop a comment shading guys who criticized the performance in the first half. I really don't know whether you except us to praise the team for being poor whenever they serve us such poor performances.

Maybe, you just want to be on the opposite side of things always else, I don't understand you.
Lmao and where did I say you shouldn't criticize the team after losing? There's a huge difference between criticizing and heavy trolling.

You said I dropped a comment shading people that critized the team. What type of lie is that? I literally talked about those trolling.

I think the problem here is you can't differentiate between criticizing performances, tactics, lineups and pure trolling that some of you embark on here. So you can never understand me.

Wow Arsenal got piped at home by West Ham. Same thing happened to us last week and you'd think Ten Hag was caught in an orgy with teens.

Admittedly, we've been awful so far this season but the reaction is always super crazy. The league's super competitive this season. That, combined with injuries and other issues means the manager deserves some leeway.

Ratcliffe is a smart business man and won't be moved by emotional, reactionary fans. Know this and know peace.

Obviously I'm saying they didn't in regards to the club's relationship with Greenwood. Everything's on Greenwood 100%. Our whole discussion has been about the influence of the club's decision on Greenwood's career.

United's fvck up was in regards to the relationship with the fans.
