eph12:Do you remember people used to tackle me seriously whenever I brought up injuries as an explanation to what was happening? Everyone's now calmed down with that. They now kinda accept it. What do you think is the reason? It's because they saw us get Martinez, Shaw back and then saw us actually start doing something. We had our biggest win all season just 2 games or so after we got Martinez back. |
eph12:That's what you get when you've got a disjointed team. We're at survival mode at this point. Can you imagine Lindelof might be our left back for the rest of the season. The clueless medical team told Ten Hag he'd have 2 fit left backs in January. Reason we let Reguilon go. |
AdisaOwala:ETH did what? Ronaldo got himself out of the club. ETH did nothing. |
Are people now saying they'd be happy if we were languishing in 12th but playing good footy and bossing possession stats. I've watched enough Chelsea games to know this is a huge lie. In reality, results matters. I can't look at that backline, then watch Casemiro, Mctominay and Bruno do their thing, then delude myself that the manager should be playing good footy while getting the results. After 2 years, with 400m spent, we should have have a better squad, right? But mistakes were made. Good thing is we can step into the future confidently with this manager because we now have one of the best structures in Europe. One reason I'm even super confident Ten Hag is staying is I've seen people go through managerial options and no one on the list is that special. Not one. |
eph12:We had a good first season by all standards and was supposed to build on that this season. But how's one supposed to build on anything with the amount of injuries we've had this season? You keep hammering on playing style. Why are you dancing around the fact that we'd be languishing somewhere around 13th if we had tried anything else apart from being realistic? The biggest indictment on Ten Hag is recruitment. That's the reason a few injuries drastically reduces the technical quality on the field. But thank God the whole structure is changing. |
eph12:Haha I read somethings sometimes and laugh. 'Anyone that's can't run more should be binned'. In a team devastated by injuries o. Btw, you're totally wrong about the stakes. If we continue playing like this and make top 4, he'll most likely keep his job. If we try playing good football and finish 10th, he gets the sack. |
eph12:They were playing well last season. But still missed out of top for even when they had players back towards the end and went on a winning streak. They missed out on top 4. And that's even a team that's been drilled for years to play that way. But attempt to play the same with the team options we've had so far this season and we'd be languishing in 14th. And no one would care about any beautiful style of play. It's one thing to blame Ten Hag for bad recruitment that has us relying on bums. But trying to say we should be playing beautiful football with Mctominay,Casemiro and co while actively chasing top 4 is funny. |
Just finished watching 'Sharp objects'. Damn!!!!!! This is one I'll think about for days. Great and intriguing show. Not really a fan of dark thrillers unless it's totally about criminal investigation but I stayed glued to this one. Absolutely loved it. |
patrickmuf:Lol just interpreted it as 'we were one of the best transition teams'. Damn, I remember how dangerous we were on the break. It was so crazy. Last thing we needed was a Ronaldo. But I understand. Woodward and co saw Ronaldo was available and could potentially sign for rivals. We had to protect that United legacy. And Ole just couldn't say no. |
Jodera:Exactly! And it's not even difficult. This thing we repeated here again and again and some were tagged 'Ronaldo haters' on this thread even till today. That's why I'm just really excited about the new structure were implementing now. We should never try that type of mistake in future. |
So De Zerbi actually got piped today again 😂. And man's a good coach o. Just doesn't have the personnel to fit into what he's trying. Makes me wonder how Pep would've turned out if he had to build up from a mid-table team. |
The main argument here for almost a year was about Ronaldo's effect at United. The manager then spoke extensively on it, but look at them totally side-stepping the main-topic😂😂. This thread ehhn.. |
odizeey:Lmao. Definitely not spending time arguing this, after getting called different types of names for months for pointing the effects of Ronaldo on the team only for Ole to confirm everything we said. Go leave main arguments for months come latch on side-comments lol. Nibo. |
Smartguyboy:Lmao that thing looks totally fake. People can be vile racists but that chat looks manufactured. Doesn't look like a real conversation. |
odizeey:No one's ever said Ole didn't want him. They gave him the option and he said yes. Like he said, so many other clubs were interested in him. He wasn't going to allow him go there. It was a huge mistake on his part Sha. |
Just saw Ole's interview and the things he said about Ronaldo lmao. We used to say the exact things he said here and people called us names for months. It's hilarious. |
Leyqute:Lmao don't mind them. Dem no dey waste time at all. Especially when Kane score those goals back to back. |
patrickmuf:Bro, read exactly what I said and don't form your own wrongful interpretation. I'll make a quote. "How can I hail the manager as superb and wonderful and say he's the next best thing on planet earth and then switch in few months to say he's a clown that deserves to be killed?" Up there is what I said. 👆👆👆. Do you get it now? It's one thing to say you don't support the manager and can't see what he's doing. But how can you go from hyping up a manager to that level of toxicity in few months. That's flip-flopping whether you like it or not. Saying a manager is clueless is different from saying he's a clown that deserves to be killed. Except you're the type that throws words around carelessly. |
eph12:😂. Will never turn against Bruno Sha. I'll always appreciate those first 2 seasons. Never seen a team get so invigorated by the addition of one single player. |
CapitalCee:I'm his biggest fan but man's been awful for months. Don't understand. |
It's funny when you want to join a bandwagon of opinion and then say everyone else is 'trying not to follow the crowd' There are people that can chat to me about the Onana and Mount deal. Odizeey and the likes. I think patrickmuf also. They didn't want them from the beginning. We know their opinion about the whole thing. But the ones with no opinion about anything from the beginning will hold a strong opinion about deals based on how everything evolves. The type that always want to appear right and smart. Lmao. |
AdisaOwala:Look at this one😂😂. Y'all jumped to hype up an 'unproven' manager, I didn't. That's well documented on this thread. I wasn't convinced about Ten Hag and everyone here knows. And when he got here, I was skeptical for the first few months. I actually saw workings before I started to back the manager. Not like y'all that want to kill the manager after a few months with an injury hit squad. After fvcking hyping the guy for more than a year lmao. I'm the last person you can point to as jumping on hype. 😂 Fvcking bozzo thought he made a point. |
AdisaOwala:Lmao, man said I don't want to follow the crowd. Man I'm not just flippy floppy like all of you. How can I hail the manager as superb and wonderful and say he's the next best thing on planet earth and then switch in few months to say he's a clown that deserves to be killed? How can I rant about how the club was handling the Antony's deal, send transfer reports as to how we'll have to pay something crazy if we don't complete the deal in July, rant about how we needed a right winger badly and then accept everything when we finally overpaid for one. But then turn everything around in a year or so on the manager and say he deserves to be killed for the deal bla bla bla? I'm not like y'all and will never be. |
AdisaOwala:Say na 'Do I proof-read my posts'😂. Everything I type is clear and concise. You might try to summarize it in your idiotic way and reply with some cliches. That's on you. Most of you no even get point. But as long as your nonsense ends with popular statements like 'Antony deal is senseless', you're good. As long as Antony remains the most hated figure here. |
AdisaOwala:Brought in two replies to different questions asked and phrased it like it's excuses to the same question. 😂 That's how y'all move here. Why did we end up paying that much? Even a total dullard without agenda will understand it's because we negotiated so late into the window without a viable option available. The other one about taking the next step is a reply to questions about why we went for someone that's not even pulling trees in terms of stats. Try again! |
All of these shalaye is because you want the manager out. Antony's deal must fully be put on ETH for agenda. It's like compiling a list of fvckups. Funny thing is years after the manager gets sacked, the fvckup list gets revised. The list was much longer during Mourinho's time. But that fvckup list has been totally revised. Can't even remember a lot of his messups anymore. At this point some of you just get tired of seeing the same face week in week out and want the new excitement of a new manager. If they told you ETH will win the league in 2 years OR we can bring in a new manager and he'll win in the same number of years. Y'all will go with the latter. |
AdisaOwala:🤣When you keep arguing just to have the last say, you tend to draw senseless summaries of everything said, repeat previous statements like they weren't countered in the past. I don't think a single person here has said Antony was worth the amount he was bought for. No one's advocating spending that type of money on even established players. All anyone has done here is add context to how the deal came into fruition. When some of you argue on this thread, you intentionally get stuck on one thinking. Everything's not black and white. We've all discussed this on previous pages. But you'll still quote me and summarize everything I've said as advocating for spending 100m on up and coming players. When we've literally discussed on and on as to how the whole deal evolved. It's tiring tbh |
patrickmuf:It's more like he's taking stupid jobs. PSG and present Chelsea are horrible jobs for any manager. |
AdisaOwala:Can you please name one right winger that was available then that was already well established and would slot in perfectly into the role at United? You just carry phone dey type whatever. You're basically saying what we needed was an established player not one trying to make the next step. This is absolutely silly talk. As for your last paragraph, it's very easy to say all these now when the guy's been poor at United. I'd even take you more seriously if you said any of this sh*t when we were linked to him. |
AdisaOwala:Lmao seems you'll never get it. When we went for Hojlund, we didn't get a prolific striker that was banging in goals. We went for a player that we thought had the raw qualities and hoped he'd make the next step. Same thing we did with Antony. He was an 'Orthodox winger' but we hoped he'd make the next step. Arsenal that's well run these days were about to splash 100m on a Mudryk with 5 goals or something in Ukraine. Not every youngster is an Haaland or Mbappe. Like how can you not get this? You're only saying all these shit based on the fact we now know Antony is a bum. |
afrodoc2:They went into transfers with zero plan. You're supposed to be super successful after spending all that money. Imagine spending 100m on a player just because Arsenal wanted him; talking about Mudryk. I think Caicedo falls into this category as well. Another 100m. |
AdisaOwala:Why do you keep going on and on about stats. You mentioned it like 3 times, I mentioned Hojlund and you skipped past that. Hojlund is literally a striker and scored only 7 last season. Antony looked like an Orthodox winger so we kinda excused his lack of stats. It was mostly about making the next step. It's all about hindsight. Antony is a bum now, so kill everyone involved in the deal? lmao. It's even funny, you wanted to kill the manager for poor results all these months. Didn't take too long to find another reason to kill the manager after recent good results. |
