The Sokoto State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma on Tuesday dispelled rumor that the party’s 2019 election flag-bearer, Alhaji Mannir Dan-iya has been substituted.

Speaking to newsmen in Sokoto over the rumour that Dan-iya had been substituted by Gov. Tambuwal after he failed to secure party’s presidential ticket was unfounded.

Milgoma explained that at present Dan-iya remained the party’s 2019 governorship candidate noting that there was still time to substitute candidate according to the law.

The chairman said the party would formally announce any change if any in future noting that substitution had processes which must be complied with based on electoral guidelines.

Milgoma explained that the event held on Oct.7 at the state party headquarters was to express Gov. Tambuwal’s appreciation over the support he enjoyed at PDP Presidential primary election in Port Harcourt.

According to him, party members are still united and will continue to support any person that emerged victorious during the concluded primaries and urged loyalists to work toward ensuring maximum success of all party candidates in coming elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that speculations were going round that the party had conducted fresh primary and produced Tambuwal as governorship candidate at the 11th hour on Oct. 7, to comply with INEC deadline on conducting primary election.

A young man, Kamaludden Bashir, has commenced trekking from Zaria to Abuja to show his support over the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bashir who arrived Kaduna on Tuesday, a day after he left Zaria, told newsmen that he plans to reach Abuja within five days.

“I am really happy with the victory, that is why I am trekking to Abuja to show him that I am with him 100 per cent.

“Along the way, I will sensitizes thousands of youth to join me in the campaign to make Nigeria great under Atiku as president.

“I believe that only him can overcome the problems of unemployment, poverty, insecurity, communal and ethno-religious crisis disturbing the peace and stability of the country.

According to him, he left Kwarbai area of Zaria at about 6:30 am on Monday after his parents prayed for him.

Bashir believed that Abubakar’s structures all over the country were strong enough to push for his election in February.

“I believe in Atiku, that is why I am trekking in solidarity and praying for him to win the 2019 presidential election.

“I believe he is the best man that can fight corruption and take Nigerian youths to the promised land.”

According to him, he was robbed of his money, food and water along the way, but said the experience would not deter him from continuing with the journey.

Bashir urged Nigerian youths to support the former vice president during the general elections so as to put Nigeria on a better direction.

Reacting to the gospel singer's comment, Freeze in a live video on IG, said that pastors should stop praying for people's marriages to be healed. He made reference to his failed marriage to his ex-wife. According to him, anyone who is praying that he leaves his current wife and go back to his first wife, ''God will punish such a person and that nothing in that person's life will work.'' Freeze said he has since leant that himself and his ex-wife were not compatible.
Freeze also mentioned that Jesus never prayed for people's marriages to be healed. He drew his explanation from the Samarian woman who had five husbands and the man who she was living with when she met Jesus by the well, was not her husband.
Freeze said Jesus treated the woman with so much respect despite the fact that she had been divorced five times. Ronaldo is being accused by Kathryn Mayorga of raping her when they met in Las Vegas in 2009. She also claims to have been paid a sum of money by the footballer to keep the incident secret.

Chika Okereke said they were on Osborne road on their way to Ikeja when her driver started having a seizure and lost control of the car. He then crashed into another car in front of them and their tyre busted.

Ifeanyi Udeh, an adulterated wine producer arrested at Agbowa, Ikorodu, Lagos, has insisted that the wine isn’t harmful, as he also drinks it.

The suspect was paraded by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi, on Monday.

“He was producing the wines in his one room apartment without getting the right approval from the concerned authority,” Edgal said.

The suspect, Ifeanyi, while lamenting and pleading for forgiveness, however, admitted committing the offence.

He said, he understands that he has committed a crime by producing the wines without getting approval from the right authority. .

According to him; “I would have gotten NAFDAC approval but because I could not afford it, so I decided to do little business to raise money to get the approval.

The drinks are not harmful, I also drink it and nothing happens to us. The only mistake I made is by not getting the approval, if I am forgiven on this, I will do the right thing and do the business in a legal way. .

I don’t have the means to produce the wines in a big form, so I was doing it in my room. I was arrested while trying to distribute the ones I made.”

Pandemonium on Sunday evening broke out in Okparabe community, Ughelli South Local Government area of Delta State following the discovery of the body of a middle- aged house wife identified as Mrs. Beatrice Okpoudhu.

She was allegedly raped to death by a group of hoodlums.

It was gathered that the woman had gone in search of firewood to prepare meal for her husband during night fall when she was said to have ran into a group of hoodlums who raped her to death and dumped her body in the bush.

Mr. Sunday Akpoghene, a family member, who spoke to journalists in the area, said after a period of endless waiting by the victim’s husband for her return, a search party was conducted and her lifeless body was found in the bush a stone thrown from the house, and her body sustained with injuries including her private parts.

A police at Otujeremi Division, who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity, said that two persons were arrested in connection with the incident, adding that clear indications showed that woman was allegedly raped and killed by the gang of the suspects as investigation was on going.

But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, disclosed that it was the fourth of its kind in the last few weeks in the entire Ughelli communities.

He said, “the police are investigating cases of rapes, murder in many of the Ughelli communities, the anti kidnapping squad unit of the state CID has taken over those cases, particularly the woman’s incident, it’s the fourth case the police are handling, and all the hoodlums involved will be brought to book.”

Unconfirmed Sources said that the woman had been married to a farmer close to ten years without a child and was a devoted worshipper of an Anglican Church in the area before she was allegedly raped and killed.

A young man has narrated how he was gripped with fear when an armed student went on rampagmorsunderstanding in their lodge sometime ago.

The student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra state, identified as Samuel, disclosed that after the quarrel, the other student declared war in his lodge as he threatened to kill all of them (lodge mates) one by one.

It was gathered that by 2 am on that fateful day, the student went on rampage with a machete which he used to destroy windows of other students as he told them to come out and face him. The rampaging student continued with his threats of killing his lodge mates.

According to reports, none of the students came out of their rooms while some of them were devising means of escape over fear of their lives.

The student was said to have packed his belongings and left the lodge after the terrifying incident which was reported to the authorities.

Two more women are being prepared to step up against Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo who is currently accused of rape.

Ronaldo was accused by Kathryn Mayorga of raping her when they met in Las Vegas in 2009. Two more women with similar claims are currently being checked by Lawyer Leslie Stovall who represents Mayorga.

Report has it that one woman claims she was raped by Ronaldo after a party.

Another reportedly alleges she was “hurt by Ronaldo” and a third had claimed she entered a non-disclosure agreement with him in 2009.

It is not clear if the second and third women accused Ronaldo of sexual misconduct.

Stovall told The Sun: “I am following up to verify this information.”

However, the former Real Madrid player has denied the rape allegation stating that it is against everything he stands for.

“I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in.

“Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense.

“My clear conscious (sic) will thereby allow me to await with tranquillity the results of any and all investigations,” he said.

An unidentified lady was, on Tuesday, the 2nd of October, 2018, knocked down by a reckless driver in Abuja and this claimed her lzenady was said to be walking along the road near Apo bridge, when a Range Rover veered off the road and knocked her down, killing her instantly.

The killer driver (the boy in a black sweatshirt) was immediately arrested by the police and some road safety officials later arrived the scene. Investigation revealed that the driver had no driver’s license.
