It is a sad time for the family members of a man and his friends who died tragically in a car accident on Sunday. A Nigerian man alongside his friends have died in a fatal motor accident.

It was gathered that the deceased identified as Steve Carters based in Benin, Edo state, was involved in an accident on Sunday night while driving with his close friend (pictured with him) and two others in his car.
It was revealed that they were four persons in the car and none of them survived the fatal accident following the impact of the crash and injuries they sustained.
A friend, Miles Embassy, took to Facebook to mourn the loss and wrote

Justin Crawford an Atlanta footballer has been arrested and charged for incest, sodomy and enticing a child, after he was allegedly caught by his wife having sex with a 12-year-old girl.

According to TMZ Sports Crawford was caught by his Kenya wife and mother of his two young sons, around 5am on Saturday morning.

She said woke up on Saturday morning and walked into the living room of the couple’s Georgia home when she saw Crawford standing over the girl with an erection.

Crawford, a former West Virginia University football star, admitted to police he had MouthAction and intercourse with the girl and claimed the sex was her idea.

No details have been provided on the allegations.

All three of the charges against Crawford are felonies.

He was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning and is currently being held in jail.

The family of a former finance minister, Nenadi Usman, has written the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, over alleged murder of the former Minister’s 31-year-old daughter, Anita Akapson.


The family’s petition was signed by their lawyer , Kayode Ajulo, alleging that Anita “was trailed, targeted, intercepted, her vehicle brushed, blocked and shot at close range by a police officer at Katampe District, Abuja.”

There have been reports that Akapson, who recently returned to Nigeria after her university education in the United Kingdom, was shot dead by a Superintendent of Police on around 11 pm on Saturday.


She was driving out of her house at Katampe Extension by Gwarimpa Estate in a Honda Accord car when she met her death.


Policemen were said to have surrounded the Akapson’s building and were lying in wait for a fleeing armed robbery suspect when the woman drove out of the compound.


But the family said Akapson was shot in the stomach after the police blocked her car and punctured the tyres with several bullets.


The lawyer to the family, Ajulo, in the petition demanded a thorough investigation into the killing, stating that Akapson’s murderers were being shielded by the police authorities.


Ajulo hinted that Usman was apprehensive that the murder might have political undertones on account of her position as a member of the leading opposition party in the country.



The petition read in part, “The circumstances of the trailing, tracking and gruesome murder of the deceased who had a strong affinity with Senator Nenadi Usman, a member of the leading opposition political party in Nigeria, and who is presently facing continuous prosecutions from the state, calls for thorough and comprehensive investigation.



“Given the level of intimidation of opposition by the instrumentalities of the state, our clients are worried as to the intent or possible calculated assassination of the deceased to further cause anguish to the family.”

Over 22 million methamphetamine pills and 100 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine were seized in two separate raids over the weekend in Northern Thailand, Police said on Monday.

Following tip-offs, police on Saturday arrested three Thai men transporting more than 12 million methamphetamine pills and 100 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine out of the northern province Chiang Rai, deputy national police chief Chalermkiat Srivorakan told reporters.

On Sunday, another 10 million methamphetamine pills were seized in Chiang Rai after smugglers left them behind while fleeing police, Chalermkiat said.


The busts were among Thailand’s biggest drug confiscations this year.

In April 29, million dollars worth of drugs including 1.7 million methamphetamine pills were seized in a week-long series of raids across the country.

Methamphetamine pills are popular in Thailand and across South-East Asia.

Most methamphetamine smuggled into Thailand comes from Myanmar through the “Golden Triangle,’’ a shared border area between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, which is notorious for drug smuggling.

A ghastly motor accident occurred yesterday in Nasarawa state, leaving many passengers seriously injured.

The group of catholic women were returning from the ordination of a priest before the motor accident which saw also the driver and others badly wounded. 

The former Minister of Information and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship aspirant, Mr Labaran Maku, was returning from Lafia where he met the accident. 

He stopped his convoy to help and use one of his vehicles to transport the wounded to a hospital in Lafia. He also paid their medical bills.

The police command in Sokoto has confirmed the death of one person as a result of stray bullets fired when suspected hoodlums attacked governor Aminu Tambuwal’s motorcade on Saturday.

Cordelia Nwawe, the command’s spokesperson, said one other person who was injured during the incident had been hospitalised.

NAN reports that the PDP had organised a reception rally to welcome Tambuwal after his failed attempt to secure the 2019 presidential ticket of the party.

The governor was received by a crowd of supporters at the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto and went in a motorcade to the government house.

The event was, however, not-hitch free as political thugs armed with dangerous weapons destroyed billboards, building structures and vehicles bearing inscriptions of the opposition party.

A car bearing the APC logo travelling to Sokoto from Bodinga was also set ablaze by mobs along the Sokoto State University.

The motorcade was then forced to stop along Gawon Nama, near the resident of senator Aliyu Wamakko, when another set of mobs carrying arms confronted it.

It took the efforts of security operatives to get it moving again.

A relative of the deceased who pleaded anonymity told NAN that the deceased, Imran Ahmad-Alkanci, was on his way home after visiting family relations when the incident happened.

The source said the 22-year-old was trying to get a commercial motorcycle when the bullet hit him.

An 11-year-old secondary school pupil has died after been chased by his teachers.

Isaac Sunday Okon, a pupil at the Government Secondary School, located along Atekong Drive, State Housing Estate, Calabar, Cross River State, was electrocuted by a naked electric wire, during the closing period of the school.

Isaac’s mom, Happiness, who is a trader, said

“Isaac is the only son of the family. Their father died since 2011. I am the only one struggling to take care of them.” his mom, Happiness Sunday Okon, said, in tears.

An eyewitness named Paul, who is also a student of the school said the incident happened when they were asked to pick up dirt littered around the school compound before going home.

“We were asked to come out and pick up pieces of papers and dirt littered around the school compound. The teachers were flogging us and it triggered fear and everyone was running.

Unknown to the boy, there was a high tension wire resting on the ground at the far end of the school. He mistakenly stepped on it and got roasted.

“We that saw him started shouting and calling the teachers to at least call the PHEDC, but everyone said they don’t have airtime – if they’d called on time for the NEPA people to switch off their light, the boy wouldn’t have died.

Everyone was afraid to touch him, even the teachers that inadvertently caused the death. It was later, a group of people came and used wood to remove him and he was already dead.”

An elderly woman reportedly lost her leg to some boys on a codeine diet, following an accident which occurred in New Oko-Oba, Lagos.

Instagram user @prodigy2639 who shared the report, disclosed that the boys were ‘clearly and bottle of codeine’ were found in the car. He wrote;

A secondary school principal in Ekiti State, 60-year-old Taiwo Ajayi, is to spend the rest of life in jail for raping a 12-year-old girl, an Ado Ekiti High Court ruled on Thursday.

Ajayi reportedly lured the girl into his office, locked the door and raped her on the table while covering her mouth with cloth.

Justice Oluwatoyin Abodunde, who gave the verdict, said the principal was guilty as charged.

Abodunde rejected the convict’s counsel’s plea for leniency on grounds that he was a first offender, father and breadwinner of an aged mother.

“The prosecution has proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt on the strength of evidence placed before the court.

“The cases of child defilement has been on the increase lately and to serve as a deterrent to others, my view is that the punishment stipulated by the lawmakers was deliberate to deter the offence and protect the right to dignity of the child.

“The defence counsel is pleading for leniency and praying for fine instead of the due punishment. My question is: “who pays
the victim for the life-time scar or the trauma and torture of rape ?

“I am unable to deviate from the provisions of the law in this instance; the defendant is found guilty as charged and sentenced to life imprisonment,” the judge said.

The rapist, who is in his 60s was at the time of committing the crime, the Vice- Principal (Academics) at St. Mary’s Girls Grammar School, Ikole-Ekiti.

Ajayi, who was suspended from the civil service to face the consequences of his action, committed the offence on March 18, 2014.

Two teachers had stormed the vice-principal’s office but could not gain entry until after about 30 minutes and caught him red-handed.

The prosecution was led by Mr A.E. Arogundade of the Ministry of
Justice, while the defence team was led by Mr Sule Longe.

At the arraignment on Oct. 14, 2016, Ajayi had pleaded not guilty.

The offence contravened Section 31 (2) of the Child Rights Law of Ekiti State 2012.

The prosecution called eight witnesses including a medical practitioner from the State University Teaching Hospital, police officers who investigated the case, two other pupils and a teacher in the school.

Exhibits tendered include a medical report, statement of the accused, report of the panels set up by the school authorities and Teaching Service Commission, medical report from the police clinic, statement of the victim, among others.

The two panels set up to investigate the case indicted Ajayi which led to his suspension from service after which he was arrested and prosecuted.
