Ok. *drags His e-partner down to the thread,by the ear and calls out to organiser,to register them*. My e-partner is Idowuogbo. We've been quarreling for a while now but nonetheless,we'd partake in the contest. When we're done,we'd go our separate ways. ![]() Tag: luxanne |
Laughing out in swahili. Most of these people do not even know what is going on. Impeach Jonathan and watch Nigeria sink! Those of us who have kept quiet for so long, will have to do what we "MUST" do,when push comes to shove. |
Spot on. |
I hope Rotimi Amaechi is listening. |
Nice write-up. Seun, this deserves a place in the front page. Kindly do the needful. |
Happy birthday mr president. May the best things of life be yours today and evermore. I ask that God almighty, will give you the wisdom to rule well and effectively like Solomon, the courage and strenght to overcome your adversaries like David, and the grace to rule selflessly like Christ. In wisdom you shall excel,in strenght you shall grow and in grace you shall succeed. Under you,Nigeria shall be great again. Happy birthday. Wishing you long life and prosperity. |
This has got to be a joke! |
That's as much as I can remember as far as that event is concerned. Except you want me to lie. warrenweste: |
My first ever experience with seeing a ghost, was in the late 80's at Akure. Colonel Tunde Ogbeha was the military administrator of Ondo state at that time. My parents(both of them) were working in the bank at that time but in different states. I remember my grandma used to make meat-pie and scotch-egg and sausage rolls in large quantities, and my aunts used to take them to supply somewhere. One fateful morning,my mum had bathed me and dressed me up. She was preparing for work and grandma and others were busy packing the snacks they did, into a large bucket,to go deliver. Prior to this day,I had never climbed up the stairs of our house,to Alhaji's apartment. Alhaji was our landlord and He occupied the entire upstairs, while we used the downstairs. Everyone was busy and nobody was watching over me. That was how I climbed upstairs to go see what was in the next compound. As I looked over the fence,I saw a grave in the compound and I saw someone in white(a ghost) walking up and down in the compound. I became very petrified and ran downstairs. I started crying and insisted I was going to follow my mum to work. My grandma beat the hell out of me and my mum ran off to work. During the day,I was with my elder cousin(she's a few years older than me) and my sister,at home. That's how we saw this same ghost passing through our compound(we were seeing it from the very light curtain in the room). It kept walking up and down. We were too scared to shout or talk. We just hid underneath the bed throughout the day till an elderly person came home. Something else happened but I'm not sure if it was that same night,or another night. We were all about to sleep and there was no power supply. We had locked the gate and the front and back doors. Suddenly,we heard a knock on the door. Grandma went to check and when she opened, there was nobody there. Suddenly,we heard same knoc on the back door. She locked front door and went to open the back door but no one was there. As she was locking the door, the knock started at the front door again. At that time, she discovered it was spiritual. She brought holy water and started sprinkling in front of the door(we were attending cherubim and seraphim church movement at that time). This was the first scare I had as a child. Several other events later occurred. |
How will you know what is "felled" when you attended okpobrisi nursery and primary school(where they use bicycle for carrying crate of beer to carry you guys to school)? Abeg, leave people who can speak queens english to enjoy themselves joor;the dude is absolutely correct. spenca: |
Unfortunately, you're the one who doesnt understand english language to the point of knowing that there's a word called "felled" in english language. It pays to go to a good school. Yomieluv: |
My point is: if you are going there to study or for business or on a holiday trip, fine. But if you sell off properties here just to go look for greener pastures which do not exist,I'd call it stupidity. tpia6: |
Foolishness and stupidity is the major problem with such people. Several times, people have advised me to travel to the US and go live there cos they feel my body system doesn't suit the Nigerian society. While I admit that I have such challenges,I also do not subscribe to the idea of relocating;I wasn't born in the US or UK. I've always maintained that, the only reason why I will travel out,is to go for holiday or a business trip. Yes,I know we can't compare the facilities and infrastructures we have overseas, with what we have in Nigeria;but at the end of the day,my freedom matters a lot to me. Moreover,my money will be made here. Lots of graduates and educated folks living overseas are engaging in menial jobs. I as a person, can't do such jobs. The thought of going to work as a gateman or washing plates/dead bodies,is enough to put me off. I'm a proud Nigerian. |
Kudos to our gallant forces for a job well done. |
Now,this is who I call a soldier. Kudos to him for leading and not deserting his troops. I wish Him speedy recovery. |
"If you can't respect yourself, don't expect it from others" - Rio Bill$ Theme: respect yourself. |
"In life,in our desire to stay humble,we sometimes reduce our selfworth before the eyes of the public. Those who would respect you would respect you,and those who would disrespect you would disrespect you. But whatever you do,make sure you do not disrespect yourself" - Rio Bill$ Theme: give yourself a value. |
"Those who make significant changes, aren't always the most popular candidates" - Rio Bill$ Theme: you can do much with little. |
I go with this: "Papers mean nothing if they don't smell like money" - Rio Bill$ Theme: hustle hard |
Hi folks! Today is actually my first time of opening this section(forum games) ever since I joined nairaland. I think it's fun and a whole lot saner than most of the other sections I've had cause to view. I like the fact that a good no of threads here, are geared towards putting the mind(brain) to work. Hence,my desire to start this thread. I like to think a lot, brainstorm, solve mental problems, create just about anything from my mind, etc. At the end of the day,I'd just say I love to do things that puts the brain to work/test. Based on this premise,I'm creating this thread. Simple rule is this: think, look around you and come up with any inspiring quote that you can think of(create on your own). It might be helpful to others. If you're going to qoute a notable/popular quote, try adding the name of the original author of such a quote. When you create your quote, add a theme to it. The theme simply explains why you came up with that quote. |

Spot on. The Nigerians of this generation, are the ones destroying the nation. |
I pray for the success of this mission |
People talking about how the masses would suffer should pls think for once. When govt said they wanted to take off subsidy totally so as to end the fraud and wastage in the subsidy scheme as it wasn't being felt by the common man,you guys revolted and said no. Some of the thieves who were benefitting from it,sponsored you guys to revolt and go on strike. Govt bent to your demands and didn't impose full subsidy removal. Later on,you guys heard about the scam in subsidy payments and all you could do,was to blame the govt and accuse the govt of stealing money. The same govt that hitherto warned you about this fraud and suggested that it be removed totally so as to avoid this wastage? Aren't you guys confused? The mistake most of you make,is to think that govt is all about GEJ or NOI or Diezanni. Let me be factual with you;if there's a sytem that encourages corruption, most people would partake in it(even though they would not naturally do that on a good day) and the reason is this: no one wants to be left out of the free for all money. Paying money on subsidy for petroleum products,is the easiest way to make one a billionaire in Nigeria. International trade is more of paper work. Nobody will sit down and start measuring how many barrels of oil you brought in. Secondly,if there's anybody to measure it,His/Her conscience could easily be bought with several millions(free money) available to the importers. Those of you bribing your way through school, and to get other favours or escape certain punishments for breaking the law, can't come and tell me that you'd become automatically immune from taking bribes when you get to work in govt agencies where bribery is the order of the day. Until Nigerians are ready to look at issues critically,we'd continue in this same circle year-in,year-out. |
Ok. ellalina: |
Yea,I remember that era very well. Those were the days of SDP(social democractic party) and NRC(national republican convention). Just the way we have PDP and APC of today. There were some other small parties like UPN and UNPP(I think). Abiola contested under the SDP against Alhaji Bashir Tofa of the NRC. In Edo state then,it was chief Oyiegun against Igbenedion. In Delta state,Apkeki was a popular politician in Sapele but I can't remember who won the gubernitorial election at that time. The good old days. |
Sorry,I don't understand. What do you mean by "not recent updates"? Kindly shed more light. ellalina: |
