llade: What is the meaning if the security light is steady, blinking or disappears when the key is inserted. if steady when cranking, means immobilizer is bad. Should be blinking when activated. That's when you are out of the car and door closed and locked. Should disappear when cranking and when the car is on or when not activated. |

Car Talk › Re: Official Nissan & Infiniti Thread by chukel(m): 4:14am On Jun 30, 2020 |
llade: Good Day, I own a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder V8, see the pictures below. I travelled with it from Abuja on Saturday, 20th June 2020 to Benin enroute Auchi. When I got to Auchi, I bought fuel at the NNPC Mega Station, I must admit that after buying fuel, I wanted to start the car when I noticed the gear lever was on drive position. I moved it to park but when I turned the ignition, it refused to start. From that Saturday to Tuesday, 23rd June 2020 several mechanics from Benin came to check the car and their conclusion was for me to replace camshaft sensors and ECU. Scan results showed the following codes: P0447, P1564, P1615, P0340 and P0345. I have bought over 10 camshaft sensors and three ECUs(brain boxes) but the vehicle cranks but has still refused to start. Please what do I do. Thanks. please return your crank shaft sensor and ECU. Nothing wrong with them. You have an immobilizer code. Your immobilizer may be toast. Located inside your steering necks, very close to the key hole. It costs about 7k to 10k. Once replaced, program the key with it. Dazzol. Car will start. When you are back to Abuja, try and sort out other codes. Really don't know why peeps like driving around with check light. Observe the behaviour of the security light in the car when the key is inserted into the steering key hole. Steady, blinking or disappears? Nb. If you have another key for this car, try it before changing any item. |

Eddee: Great job, really loved the review, I've subscribed asap. The TPMS capabilities will interest me a lot, currently have an annoying TPMS problem in a Charger, Tacoma and a Corolla. Stock rims, proper air pressure. Tried a couple scanners and they can't pinpoint the exact wheel(s) that has the faulty sensor(s), and local man will rather drive with the lights on, than replace all sensors on a whim!
On a lighter note, Dear Chukel and Rationalmind - I can confirm Piyke's voice is soothing and there were no unnecessary backhand comments or inclusion of devious innuendos in his video. He somehow managed to cover everything his scanner can do in less than 25 mins. Although, I'd like to know how the owner of the Accord felt with so many problems for a car that isn't up to 4 years old. you want long epistle here abi. I no want hater story here o |

Callmemike: I don't know about you, but what he said made perfect sense to me. If you want to counter it here, let's set the table. State a specific thing he said that is "total nonsense" and disprove it. let's take the PCR machine. He said it's not reliable and it's not for diagnostic purpose but for research. He totally goofed. PCR has almost 100% specificity and almost 100% sensitivity. This means it's able to detect every sample that is affected as positive and able to exclude every sample that is not affected as negative. This is because it works on identifying the correct genomic sequence of the virus in the sample. So it is highly reliable and used as a confirmatory test. It's the technology applied in paternity test. It's the confirmatory test for HIV where doubt exists. So it's almost 100%reliable. Rapid diagnostic test is not. Read up PCR and you will see it's mainly used for diagnosis more than research. I don't even want to venture into the nonsense he said about serum and vaccine. It was a shame. |

LOSKYXANDER: I listened to the Cross river state Governor during an interview session on TV. He sounded very intelligent and learned with full professional grasp of microbiology and public health. If he says there is no Covid 19 in Cross River, then there is no Covid 19 in Cross River!!! to those who know nothing about microbiology and public health, he sounded intelligent. To those of us in the field, it was a disgrace having the total nonsense he said, come from a professor of immunology. Means the educational background of a lot of our professors need to be questioned. |

Car Talk › Re: BMW Owners' Forum by chukel(m): 8:58am On Jun 25, 2020 |
HARDEYEBER: actually it is bro and all cars (even bikes) exhibit this behavior its just more pronounced in rwd cars because of their weight distribution between the front and rear axles being near 50/50. so when accelerating the weight transfer to the rear makes the rear heavier and the front lighter hence the reason why the rear of the car squats. same thing plays out during braking except this time the front squats and the rear rises a bit. its all just weight being transferred and center of gravity changing. in FWD cars you almost dont notice it because FWD cars are very nose heavy with the weight distribution always around 60/40 between the front and rear so under hard acceleration the weight transfer to the back actually makes the weight distribution kind of balanced thats why you dont see it squat as much but if you are sitting in the car you ll still feel your self being thrown backwards due to the weight transfer backwards but during hard braking the already heavy front of fwd cars become even heavier and the light rear even lighter and thats one reason why FWD cars arent as stable and more likely to somersault in an accident due to unevenly loaded axles. inertia force is a resistive force and acts in opposite direction to the force it's opposing. If the primary force is to propel the car forward, inertia should be a backward force in the opposite direction and not a downward force. Moreover the phenomenon we explained is noticed while the car is still stationary. Not even moving or about to move. While the brake is still applied and gear moved into drive, the rear lowers. |

Fogman: Please kindly educate us on the process. My Highlander came with a missing key fob and I allow it slide away. Next time, will stand up for my right in issues like this, your agent has to be proactive to discover such theft before it's moved out of their terminal. That way, you register with ptml CSO. Then write to grimaldi Nigeria customer care, Copy ptml. They will investigate and refer to appropriate quarters for your claim. To make it weighty, copy their Italian and U.S offices. I have some personal emails I copy to too. On the last case, they offered me 30k. I replied and rejected. They offered 40k as their last offer. I told them to take their miserable money cos I was pissed. I involved FCPC. Don't know if they intervened. But after 1 week, grimaldi wrote me and offered 50k with pleasant words. I accepted. |
