Barely 48 hours after a serving senator and governorship aspirant, Senator James Manager was seen kneeling before former Governor, Chief Onanefe Ibori, the immediate past Attorney General of Delta State, Mr Peter Mrakpor who is also a governorship hopeful has been captured on circulating photos sitting in an open field.



Focus Naija can report that the photos of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former commissioner of justice sharing groundnut to little children while sitting comfortably in the open field sparked off controversy online.



Many were of the opinion that his action portrays desperation taken too far while political aides and associates described the actions as attributes of a humble man.

The alleged sugar daddy that bought a house and a Range Rover SUV for Big Brother Naija’s finalist, Nengi has been exposed.

Focus Naija can report that the housemate took to her Instagram page to flaunt the brand new Range Rover Evelar on Wednesday which set tongues wagging on the image and video sharing app.

According to an Instagram blogger, GistLover, the sugar daddy behind the new car gift and the house bought earlier is Micheal Diongoli, an investment and microfinance mogul who just gave a shot at real estate and bureau de change.

Micheal Diongoli is also alleged to be sponsoring the production of a movie that Nengi stars in as the lead act and also in a triangular relationship with another actress, Mimi.

Going further, it was gathered that his helpless wife is aware of the escapades as his amorous relationship with Nengi dates back before her debut appearance on the reality show.

A rifle with breach No. NA48333 has been recovered from suspected cultists in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that the AK 50 rifle containing a fully loaded magazine with nineteen (19) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was thrown away when cultists about to cause mayhem in the polytechnic community emerged from the bush and met resistance from a team of RRS operatives acting on a tip off.

In a press statement released by the acting Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, DSP Edafe Bright, the hoodlums on sighting the operatives retreated into the bush and opened fire.

A gun battle ensued thereafter forcing the hoodlums to throw away the rifle as they could not withstand the superior firepower of the police that did not relent in pursuing them.

The statement reads;

On the 15/7/2021 at about 2050hrs, Commander of RRS Delta and team while on visibility patrol along Ibusa-Ogwashi-Uku – Issele-Azagba road after Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic, received information that a group of suspected cultist came out from the bush with intent to cause mayhem.

The commander RRS, led men immediately, the cultist who were armed on sighting the police, quickly retreated back to the bush, but the police did not relent, they chased them into the bush, there was exchanged of gun fire, the hoodlums who could not withstand the firepower of the police threw away one AK 50 rifle with breach No. NA48333 containing a full loaded magazine with nineteen (19) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and escaped.

The rifle was recovered while effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspects.

A young man simply identified as Prince used his phone to place a bet that he would finish N10,000 worth of food in a sitting.

Neighbors from around Otor-Iwreko community in Ughelli, Delta State gathered and bought him jollof rice, turkey, moi moi and hollandia yoghurt. They timed him till 6pm to finish the food or forfeit the phone and the competition started.

At the end, the young man lost the bet because he was overfilled and couldn’t continue eating.

Presently, he is rolling on his foam and complaining of stomach pain. NLders, let’s pray for him please.

The car

Three persons including a journalist, Olubunmi Afuye, a policeman and an Okada rider were shot dead during a bank robbery in llara-Mokin, lfedore council area of Ondo state.

Afuye was employed at the Elizade University as the institution’s spokesman less than six months ago. He was a radio journalist before his recent appointment.

The third victim according to eye witness account was a motorcyclist operator popularly known as Okada rider.

Vanguard gathered that the hoodlums robbed a branch of a commercial bank in Ilara Mokin community.

The robbers on arrival at the bank blew open the bank’s bullet-proof door with dynamite before they gained entrance into the banking hall at the peak hour.

Eyewitness account said that the Okada rider and the Journalist were passing by when they ran into the robbers during the operation and were killed by strayed bullets.

Vanguard gathered that the policeman was killed by the dynamite used by the bandits to blow open the bulletproof bank door.

A customer of the bank who spoke with newsmen said the robbers were six in number.

He said that when the robbers attacked the bank at about 3 pm and started shooting sporadically into the air to scare the bank customers.

According to him; “I was inside the bank when they (robbers) came, immediately all of us lied down, they started shouting where is the manager! Where is the manager!

“So they later got the key of the vault and packed the money there but they were not satisfied with what they saw, they also opened the Automated Teller Machine, but there was not much money there.

“This infuriated them and they shouted where is the money, it seems what they got did not satisfy them.

“After that, they took the money and went out angrily shooting to escape the scene.”

Police image-maker in the state, Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the three casualties

Ikoro said that policemen detectives had been deployed in the scene by the state police commissioner, Bolaji Salami

He added that investigation had commenced.

The authorities of Elizade could not be reached to comment on the ugly incident.

Early Morning Fire Outbreak Raze Down Hausa Quarter In Warri (Photos)

An early morning fire outbreak razed down the makeshift structures of Hausa Quarter in Ubeji, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Focus Naija can report that the fire outbreak at the Arewa Settlement in Ubeji started around 4am on Wednesday, July 14, displacing residents that lost properties worth hundreds of thousands of naira to the inferno.

Although the cause of the fire outbreak could not be confirmed, it was gathered that the Chairman of the council, Dr. Michael E. Tidi paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to evaluate the damages caused by the incident.

According to reports, the council boss, Dr. Tidi insisted on profiling the inhabitants of the burnt structures to ascertain the type of businesses that are being carried by them.

As at the time of filing this report, no life was reported to have been lost in the inferno.

Petrol Tanker Run Into Army Day Students Returning From School, Crush Many To Death

A petrol tanker that lost control along the NPA expressway in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State ran into students of Army Day returning from school and crushed many of them to death on Thursday.

Focus Naija can report that the students were waiting for transport vehicles by the roadside when the tanker fell on them killing scores.

According to reports, four of the victims of the unfortunate accident were children of the same parents that were on their way home.

It was gathered from eyewitnesses that a minimum of eleven children were casualties of the unfortunate accident while other sources alleged that the death toll has risen to twenty or thereabout as more bodies were being discovered and evacuated.

Driver of the tanker reportedly escaped into thin air as soldiers assigned to the Effurun Barrack searched frantically to apprehend him after the accident.

May the souls of the departed children find rest in the bosom of the lord and may their affected parents be comforted.
