Delta Police Mobilize Hunters To Rescue Eleven Passengers Kidnapped Along Expressway

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command and a combined team have rescued eleven passengers that were kidnapped along the Ughelli—Ozoro highway on Sunday.

Focus Naija can report that the victims were traveling in a sienna when hoodlums armed with AK-47 rifles and dressed in army camouflage emerged from the bush at Idu roundabout and opened fire on them.

According to a press statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the DPO of Oleh Division, Paul Oboware mobilized police patrol teams, vigilantes and hunters to the scene upon receiving the information.

It was gathered that the abductors were forced to abandon their victims as operatives followed their trail, cordoned off the area and searched the surrounding bushes frantically.

The statement reads;

On the 14/11/2021 at about 1936hrs, acting on information received that hoodlums numbering about five (5) on army camouflage uniform armed with AK 47 rifles came out of the bush at Idu roundabout along Ozoro/ Ughelli expressway opened fire on one Toyota Seinna with Reg. No. SMK 185 FU conveying passengers from Ozoro to Ughelli.

The hoodlums abducted eleven (11) passengers. The DPO Oleh Division SP Paul Oboware mobilized and led a combined team of Police patrol teams, vigilante and hunters to the scene.

They condoned off and combed the surrounding bushes relentlessly which made the area uncomfortable for the hoodlums.

Consequently, the suspected Kidnappers abandoned the eleven (11) victims and fled. The Eleven kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt and the vehicle recovered. Effort is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing hoodlums.

Eagle-net operatives of the Delta State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man that defiled two sisters and impregnated one in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Focus Naija can report that the suspect identified as Jude Nduka was nabbed after the command received a complaint of defilement from the mother of the victims.

According to the state PPRO, DSP Bright Edafe, “the complainant alleged that the suspect raped and impregnated her daughter (name withheld) age 16yrs old and also raped and defiled her teenage daughter (name withheld) who is age ‘13yrs’.

“Upon interrogation the suspect confessed to have committed the crimes. Medical examination on the said victims have been carried out. Suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court on completion of investigation.

Nollywood movie star, Annie Macaulay Idibia, wife to legendary musician, Innocent Idibia aka 2baba has tendered an unreserved apology over her recent misconduct.

In a post celebrating her birthday as she clocked 37, Annie Idibia apologized to 2baba, his family and all aggrieved fans, promising never to do so again.

According to her, it is a brand new chapter for her and it is ideal to start it on a clean slate hence the apology.

Serial card thief that withdrew N250k from bank customer’s account arrested with 33 ATM cards in Delta.

Ojo Amos, a 38-year-old indigene of Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State is currently cooling off his heels in detention over serial ATM card swapping and fraudulently withdrawing cash from bank customers’ accounts.

Focus Naija can report that N50k was recovered from the suspect that was arrested on the 2nd of November, 2021 at a POS stand close to FirstBank in Ozoro after a tip off.

According to a press statement obtained from the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, the suspect was caught with an ATM card belonging to one Rufai Abdulahi, snatched at the Zenith Bank branch in Kwale, from whose account the suspect later withdrew N250k.

Further investigation revealed that he has been in the unholy business for four years and usually targets old and uneducated people.

The statement reads in part;

“Suspect confessed that he stole one of the cards from one Rufai Abdulahi at zenith bank, Kwale branch and left immediately.

“He said he later withdrew the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (#250,000) from the victim account. Preliminary investigations later revealed that the suspect usually stays behind his victims at the ATM machine waiting and targeting people who he feels are not too educated, old women/children and once he notice that they are having problem operating the ATM machine, he moves closer to them pretending to be a bank staff trying to help them and in the process he swaps the ATM card.

“Suspect also confessed that he watches them as they enter their ATM pins, memorizes it and after swapping the ATM cards, he uses either a POS stand or ATM machine to empty their bank accounts.

“He said he has been doing this for the past four years.

Police arrest alleged rapist that dozed off after forcefully having carnal knowledge of a lady in Sapele

A 34-year-old alleged rapist that dozed off after forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 25-year-old lady in Sapele is currently under the custody of the Delta Police Command.

Focus Naija can report that the suspect simply identified as Ayuba Adavo on November 8 at about 8pm, accosted the victim along Amagiya road, Sapele and forcefully dragged her to his room.

It was gathered that he showed her a locally fabricated gun then threatened to shoot the victim if she doesn’t allow him to have his way.

According to the Delta State police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, “the suspect thereafter slept off because he was heavily drunk.

“The victim on noticing that the suspect was fast asleep sneaked out and ran to Sapele division where she reported the case.

“Consequently, patrol team/detectives were drafted to the scene. The suspect was promptly arrested, one locally cut to size gun with one live cartridge was recovered from him. Investigation is ongoing.”

A mysterious animal alleged to be responsible for a 2-year power outage and bad road network at Isodje neighborhood in Ughelli, Delta State has been killed by residents.

Focus Naija can report that the yet to be identified animal was killed while jumping from one electric wire to another in a fashion that residents alleged to be wizardry.

Speaking to our correspondent on how it was killed, a young man (name withheld) who witnessed the killing of the animal said, “it was jumping from wire to wire when we see am. My guy picked a stone and threw at it. Luckily, it fell and instead of running away like other animals do, this one charged at us furiously. We wasted no time, used blocks to hit it several times before it died. Not once did it try to escape.

When asked if electricity will be restored to the area now that the animal has been killed, the young man said he doesn’t know but a lady that sells liquor around the area confirmed the evil activities of the animal.

An electoral officer caught while manipulating electoral results in Ihiala LGA was beaten severely and sustained an arm injury.


With a broken arm tied in bandage, he was allegedly handed over to the police as other electoral officers berated him for attempting to cause crisis in the local government and soil the integrity of the INEC chairman that trusted him with the assignment.

Focus Naija can report that President General of the UPU Youth Wing, Comrade Umukoro Efemena and his vice, Frank Mughele were attending the marriage ceremony of Oreva Godswills when the incident occurred on Sunday, 31st October, 2021.

According to him, men of “operation delta hawk” in a well coordinated operation, forced the kidnappers to abandon the victim and his car around Marieno Veterinary Clinic area in Ekpan then fled.

He said the bride was already shedding tears and giving up on the marriage plans when the rescued groom was reunited to her.

It was an emotional moment to behold, he said.
