Hi All, a quick one please to Ontario college applicants. I'm planning on making an application to 5 Ontario colleges (with one application fee one can select max of 5 institutions) for Project Management (Graduate certificate). Do I need a transcript assessment to complete this application. Please I need your input. I think it will be expensive to send the transcript to 5 different schools from Nigeria. |

Hi All, A quick one please to Uni Ottawa current students/admitted students. Is it mandatory to do transcript assessment before applying or should I just send the transcript directly to the school. I'm currently preparing an application for Engineering mgt Msc. winter 2017. |

thesoj: @ Bandeco, @thesoj, please do you know schools in Germany that offer Msc in Petroleum Engineering. Do they accept Nigerian graduates with 2.2? |

hayqinsbFX: My dear, with a good SOP, he can state what he wants to achieve. We all know that Bsc's lack practical experience which most diplomas offer, especially the ones with co-op opportunities. If it is convincing enough, the VO will see reasons with him. |

It is not compulsory. Just go with a photocopy of your passport bio page and passport photographs. |

I beebwai:I don't see anything wrong with your first degree and course you are going for. Did you submit your resume. In your SOP, explain why you stopped the work. Honesty is very important. 3 Likes |

hayqinsbFX: My cousin got a similar message today and it is less than a month he submitted his application. He did upfront medical though. Since he didn't get an approval mail, what does this mean? |

Co sponsor also my bro gave me both salary account and saving account, both have a combined balance of almost 5m. I also submitted mine with a balance of 600k n cash flow of over 4m in 6 months. Do you there will be any case of insufficient funds. Applied for an Diploma program at Nait. |

thesoj: @thesoj, is it better this way? My bro who is my sponsor has a coy that is into oil trading, haulage and logistics. "After completing my studies in Petroleum engineering, I would return to Nigeria to contribute my quota to my country’s oil and gas sector as a seasoned field engineer in upstream and downstream operations. While at that, I would look at addressing issues associated with gas flaring which is predominant in the oil producing regions of the country by suggesting/implementing ways in which the gas that is flared can be channeled into storage facilities, from where they will be redistributed to homes and other industries for usage. I also envisage the future as working together with my brother at his company, K****** Petroleum to set up an engineering department that will render oil sector engineering services to the IOC’s and other indigenous oil companies and will also act as a consulting firm in Nigeria. I would also like to contribute my share to my country by taking up a teaching position, possibly a part time one at a university in Nigeria." |

thesoj: @thesoj, please is this ending part of my statement good enough. I need your advice ASAP because I'll submit tomorrow morning. After completing my studies in Petroleum engineering, I would like to obtain work experience in Canada to get exposed to the work culture, the difference in the technology involved with respect to Nigeria , and professional work environment prevalent there. Having done that, I would like to return to my country Nigeria and implement what's been learnt in Canada. I envisage the future as setting up my own consulting firm in Nigeria. I would also like to contribute my share to my country by taking up a teaching position, possibly a part time one at a university in Nigeria. |

krisez: Still on this application form, the section that has the fee breakdown, is the amount available for your stay supposed to be for the two years or just a year. I read on their website that a minimum of 10000 CAD is required for a year. Since I'm going for a two years program, is it right if I put 24,000 CAD. |
I had a similar issue. You can only do this at NIS HQ Abuja. Go to Glasshouse, write an application to the Comptroller General and state on your application that the year of birth on your passport is an error. You will have to pay a non refundable application fee of about N35,000. Attach your WAEC cert, birth Certificate, Your university transcript with your DOB clearly showing on it. Get an official to help you track your file. If you have not traveled with your PPT, you stand a better chance of having your application approved. If approved, you will have to pay a passport fee of 24500. Good luck with your application. I got mine approved in a month. Please note that paying huge sums for it to be done is not a guarantee that it will be approved. The immigration big boys (DCG or ACG) will have to approve it. So please choose the right path to it. 3 Likes |
