Please gurus help my request. @yetus @michV @churkie. Thanks

@toluene1234, I have not heard of any sponsor that was called but I cannot rule that out. I recall in the previous part, a guy ( can't remember his moniker) said CIC called his workplace to confirm if truly he works at the firm.

as long as you are still in that current employment,an employment letter remains valid in re-application.the update needed is the introductory letter and payslip.
You wan tell me say you go update Work ID too? grin

I don't see the need for a new employment letter or letter of introduction from your employer. Recent payslip/salary statement of account is enough.

Hi, love your write up. Am currently pursuing my phd here in Nigeria and hope to relocate to Canada when I complete my program next year. The issue is, how easy will it be for me to get a good job, cos my uncle who relocated with his whole family to Alberta HV not been able to get a job. He worked in Halliburton here in Nigeria but currently working as security in Alberta, mean while the wife was able to get a fairly good job there because he enrolled her in a diploma which she graduated from there.
Does it mean they don't really value our certs,? Much less if I come with a phd? Thanks

My dear, I'm not in Canada. However I once applied for a petroleum engineering program in Alberta. The thing is that Alberta is the oil hub of Canada. With the drop in oil prices, Alberta's economy is down and passing through a recession. Lots of people in Oil industry also lost their jobs. Getting a job in this sector is hard for now in Alberta.

@Temi, please what mode of application did you use, online or paper route? We need to find out how they treat this applications because there are May applicants here that are yet to get feedback from them.

Help please!!!!
I realized today that a mistake was made when i applied for my passport and it's a very big one. My DOB should 25/2/1992 but 25/2/1982 was written on my passport. i need an advise on what to do to get this resolved pls

If it is a virgin passport, you have a high chance of correcting the mistake but "the waka and wahala that you will pass through no be small one. Such corrections can only be done at Immigration HQ, Sauka, Abuja.

Gather all your documents that show your real age (birth certificate, WAEC, university transcript, first school leaving certificate) I know say you be ajebo and won't have the latter, so no probs grin

Go to a court and get an affidavit stating it was an error and that you would want to correct it.

At Immigration, you will pay change of data application fee of about 33k, write a letter to the comptroller general stating your issues and what you want. ( At this point, you have to be pray he approves your request).

Once approved, your file will be forwarded to ACG Passports office in a building called glasshouse.

Abeg PM Jare, I don tire to type. It's a long process.

@Jmme Let me come in, USA visa is where luck come in more than Canada Visa or UK visa....I have seen many people that Got USA visa on luck, where by such people do not have the necessary document to convince the Canada or UK visa officer. You can pick a shoe marker on the street , package him well with document and he can luckily by God grace get a USA visa , but you cant try that with Canada or UK. In conclusion if you give Canada what they needed, bet me, they will also give you what you need, yes we all know prayer works, but let take it out of visa application and apply right.

Are you saying we should all apply for masters and PHD? We have seen that what works for masters and Phd applicants rarely works for PGD/C and diploma applicants.

Can one get job in canada after masters ?

Yes but this shouldn't be your priority for now. You have to cross the first bridge (TRV) before strategizing on how to cross the second.

yea i have and i feel devastated and heart broken! They could not find a tangible reason but only to tick insufficient funds to pay TUITION fees only is saddening. My clear sincere profile of funds on this.
I paid 7789cad 1st semester tuition fee,
My blood mother was my sponsor and still active in service,Inshot a Bank officer at zenith bank and i am the only dependant in her sponsorship.
Statement of acct for the period of 6months,no money lodgement, was 13mill inflow,6.1mill closing balance, her land docs, her stocks and its certificates.
total remaining school fees + accommodation and others were = 29200cad.employment docs of hers, her payslip, her work Id,intro letter, sponsorship letter, affidavit of support were in place. This is a total heart break for me. I have already applied for my GCMS NOTE and about to terminate my PGC admission with my school. To me it's clear CIC GAMBLES with pgd(c) TRV applications.my hardworks went in vain. I just don't know how to start all over again cry cry

Wow. This is heartbreaking indeed. Especially after the long wait. Winners never quit. Please show them what you are made of.

Pls i need your input.

My neighbor, born Dec 12 1998 applied for trv, she was charged $150 only for study permit.
She wasn't charged for biometrics and no biomerics letter was sent to her.
The elder brother who happens to be my brother is being crucified by the parent because they thought he did something different.

Pls is this a problem to be worried about?

you don't have to now cos ur app is still under normal processing time in reference to what is specified on their website. CSE is a medium to channel concerning /pressing issues.when your application has passed normal processing time, you can use it

@MichV, please I didn't include evidence of enrolment and tuition payment when I applied for TRV in June. My tuition payment deadline is August 17th i.e. Wednesday. I made payment on the 5th of August and the school confirmed receipt of the payment on 12th. Do you think I should use CSE to inform CIC of the payment? I also have an official confirmation of enrolment from the school. My app is 8weeks old.

@All, your opinions will be appreciated.

Hey Guys...

I recently got My Trv for a PGC protramm duration one year.. To follow with my masters for two years...
I applied with status married and my wife just gave borth to a baby girl this week.. I cant stay away from them for too long, and i would like to know how soon i can apply for Sowp for my wife. .. If i do, does it cover mt child too and how many hours would she be able to work while im studying.. Also whats the duration or validity period of the SOWP.

Congrats meekmk on your successful TRV application. Thanks for also giving hope to those of us going for a PGC/PGD. Your wife's sowp will only be valid for the duration of your study permit. Also she's eligible to work full time. The gurus in the house can correct me if I'm wrong..

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

So shall be the destiny of those who believe in his word. TRV is a slave to us.
