iHateHaters: Episode 6
The following morning, the nurse came again. She was wearing a black crop top and a pair of tight shorts. It was already 7:20 am when she arrived and Ijego was still sleeping. The nurse could see through the car. She glanced at the back and saw that the boy was up already. She waved at him indicating that should wake Ijego but he didn't.
She simply ignored the boy and knocked on the driver's side of the car jolting ijego back from his deep sleep. He quickly arose, alerted but he calmed when he saw who it was. He would have laughed at his silliness but he kept calm and quickly unlocked the door.
When he got out of the car, he stretched himself to shake off the sleep still in his eyes before he stretched forth his hand to greet the nurse.
"Good morning nurse," he said as he tried to smile.
"Good morning Mr Ijego. How was your night and how's the boy?"she asked as she withdrew her hand.
"Let's find out," he said as he turned and opened the door for her.
The boy was visibly scared of the nurse and he continued to move away whenever she tried to touch him. "Don't worry boy I would not hurt you. My name is Phylucia and I am a nurse- I am here to help you," she said as she gave him a smile.
The boy still continued to move back until he was at the door. "Move away!" He said barely audible.
Phylucia backed away to face Ijego. She gave him the 'I don't know what is wrong with your friend' look which he understood.
Ijego tried talking to the boy but in turn the boy began to scream on top of his voice as tears streamed from his eyes.
Ijego quickly got into the car and locked the door. He was now really pissed. His brown large eyes were almost flaming and anger were written all over his face.
Seeing how angry Ijego had gotten, the boy stopped shouting but began whimpering as he expected a violent reaction.
"Now look at me little boy- I don't care who you are and I don't want to know. But I swear on my left ball that-that if you by any chance cause me trouble or get me into trouble by attracting eyes to us with your screams then I would silence you forever. You understand that?" He fumed angrily.
The boy nodded nonplussed.
Ijego observed the boy for a moment and began to speak again but with a calmer tone, "my name is Ijego and I found you almost dead in my house and so I brought you here and with the help of this nurse and her friends you were treated. Now tell me, 'is screaming the best way to show gratitude to people that saved your life?'"
"N-n-no it is not," the boy said feeling the bandages and pad on his neck.
"Good- or are you trying to bring trouble to me for saving your life?"
"I'm sorry about that."
Ijego took a deep breath and said calmly, "I know that you might feel that you are in some kind of danger and I understand that you do not know who I am and you are scared too. All I want is for you to stay calm and act nice. I wouldn't hurt you at all- though I could have left you for dead if I had wanted to but I didn't, With that you should see that I am not going to hurt you that's why the nurse is here. So, boy be nice and let her do her job. You understand me?"
The boy nodded as if saying 'please lion do not eat me. I am ready to do what you ask of me.'
Ijego got down from the car.
Phylucia, seeing that the boy looked calmer went into the car to complete the check up.
She checked him for signs of any seizure and found non. She gave him some analgesic to ease up the pains on the neck and some other parts he might be feeling Any pains as well.
"You are expected to be fine before sunset. But continue taking this drugs until the wound is completely healed," she said handing a container of analgesics to the boy. "Be nice kid and don't make your friend mad again," she concluded, getting down from the car.
"I'm through Mr Ijego," she said.
"I can't thank you enough nurse for sparing your time to come here. It's really nice of you."
"Oh! You are welcomed. I came by because I was off for the day."
"Alright," Ijego said as he tried to get open the car.
"Here, call me if you need my Help," she said handing him a card that bore her phone number . Then she jogged off.
Ijego got into the car and turned it on, a grin had already registered in his face. "I am taking us to a safer place. There you will tell me everything about yourself little boy," he said to the boy driving off. RUBBISH!!! |

Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending. anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion. And also, considering that there might be a third view from the initial stand point. I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say. |

NYSC › Re: NYSC: 4 Camp Rules Corp Members Don't Make Fuss About [photos] by ChuxMyk(m): 8:04am On Apr 24, 2018 |
inspire700: National Youth Service Corp orientation camp is a regimented environment full of rules that are upheld by soldiers, Man O war officials and Police officers.
In the face of these uniform men, you can not afford to mess up. Even if you do with Police and the Man' O war guys, you dare not try to look the soldiers in the face, they will impress you with how well they use Koboko.
These men's job is to make sure all corps Members keep to the NYSC rules and regulations through out their three weeks orientation programs. Because of the so many rules that govern the camp, corps members often find themselves violating one rule or the other out of exuberance. Breaking some of these rules could attract trial at the camp court. However, there are some rules that corps members easily comply with and don't bother to violate.
Light Out: Every activity in NYSC camp nationwide is brought to an end at 10pm when the beagle sounds for light out. Once the beagle blower comes around to announce light out, soldiers move around to ensure all corps members are in their hostels. Whoever is caught outside the hostel is punished.
Standing still for Nigeria: Another rule that is religiously observed in the camp has to do with paying respect to Nigeria when she is going to bed at 6pm.
This in all camps is a moment of no movement when Corps members are expected to stand still wherever they are once the trumpet is blown to lower the flag. Any corp member caught moving while this is being observed could find himself in trouble with the soldiers.
Wearing 6/7 for swearing in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony is usually done in the first week of the orientation camp opening. This ceremony requires all corps members to wear their NYSC attire which entails the cap, crested vest, khaki trouser, belt, socks and jungle boot, except the Khaki shirt.
White shirt on parade ground: There is nothing required of all corp members to wear to the parade ground than their white shirts and shorts. The all-white attire is for the parade ground and the NYSC rule does not permit you to wear anything on it. Not even your Khaki shirt.
Of all the orientation camp rules, the bulk of corp members hardly grumble about these four. They readily accept them and make no fuss about these rules.
