SportsRe: Juventus: Can They Return To Serie A In One Season by Chxta(m): 9:24am On Aug 31, 2006
We are opening the season with ties against Rimini, Vicenza, Crotone, Modena and Piacenza. Which means that all things being equal, by the time we are playing Brescia in week 6, we should have covered up that blasted 17 point deficit. And by this time next year, we would be back where we belong, in Serie A.

Cade:
Please Dont Let This Computer Kill Me!

I've just acquired a brand new Dell CPx Laptop, Vintage Circa1998, so powerful that is 64mb/10gg. Guess I must be at least the proud 4th owner.

The only problem is its so slow that it does not run Word and Excel XP well, even when they are the only programs installed not counting Windows Media Player. also, I use this excellent machine to browse from Starcom with magnificient results. I website per night.

I tried to reload windows, but the software could not boot the speed machine, I downloaded All the window updates, and now Windows alone is occupying 2 point something gig of the harddisk.

Question:

How do I make it run faster so my family would stop laughing at me?
Please help before me or the Machine comit suicide.(One of us must kill the other, N60,000 is no joke).

No Long Things Pleeeese. You know I'm not YET a whiz.

Love to all Nairalanders.
Cade, my sincere advice to you would be install Linux, preferably Ubuntu and then install the XFCE window manager. Other than that, throw it away.

Yes they would, with their South African centric policy. My friend don't deceive yourself.

For every action there is a reaction. It is not enough posting "imagines". The question to ask from your post would be WHY?
You started that in your previous post my friend. But let that lie aside. The fact remains that I have asked myself the why before, and like you would in future (especially if you meet and talk with people on both sides of the divide like I have), then you'd most likely come to the same conclusion that I have.

Now you still haven't responded to my statement concerning Jewish incarceration in Warsaw. What did the Jews do then? And what would the people who are under the same conditions now do?

Stop attacking the religion. There are good Christians and bad Muslims. Likewise there are bad Christians and good Muslims. The vehicle for this conflict isn't religion. People have been known to hide behind religion when it's convenient. Ever heard of Pope Urban II?

Cameroon doesn't have that capability so let's leave that aside.

Now imagine being forced to leave in a ghetto that has a population density higher than that of any other location on earth. Imagine being put behind a wall and having to wake up at 0330 every blessed day because if you wake up later, you would not get to your job (which is a piss-poor, domestic job) on the other side of a fence. Imagine that that little strip that you live in is being walled in, and that that wall is being constructed in such a way as to take even more bits of the meagre territory you have. Imagine being a farmer and watching your produce being uprooted and carted away. Imagine your 13 year old daughter being shot simply because she happened to run across the path of a tank that was coming to your neighbour's house to arrest him because he is suspected of being a militant. Imagine if the people who shot her offer no apologies but instead come to arrest you the next day because being a militant's neighbour you must have aided him. Imagine the indignity of being subjected to a cavity search every blessed day just because of the way you look. Finally imagine not having any hope for the future. . .

The Jews went through something like that. In a place called Warsaw. . .
PoliticsRe: Which Zone Should Produce The Next President? by Chxta(m): 5:21am On Aug 31, 2006
Considering the fact that in Nigeria, you are from where your ancestors originated (state of origin), not where you were born. . .

For example, Chxta was born and brought up in Benin, but as Nigeria is currently set up, has to move eastward to be able to aspire to political office, then it goes without saying that the late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed was from a little village a few miles south-west of Auchi in present day Edo State.

That makes him from the South-South. Which means that the South-South has produced a Nigerian leader before. So all the Ijaw youths et al should shut the f**k up!

Thanks chxta,

At long last someone else has seen through the thick cloud of ignorance! It is so easy to post "links", verifying the authenticity of such links in itself is another kettle of fish!
Yes, I try to be as impartial as I can (except when it comes to issues about Naija's unity).

But your blind support for Israel could be annoying as well. They ain't saints. You seem to have forgotten that the Hagganah used exactly the same methods back then (minus the suicide bombings) that Hamas and Hezb'llah use today. . .
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by Chxta(op): 5:01am On Aug 31, 2006
@ Brown-eyes, you keep quoting global research as a source of fact. You should know that open forum websites (like Nairaland is) where anyone can post anything often attract disinformation if controversial topics are discussed. They may be a wonderful way to bypass media censorship, but they also offer new opportunities for political dirty tricks and must be considered cautiously.

The forum network allows anonymous postings from anywhere in the world, and that allows hoaxers to post nonsense and personal attacks on their forums.

Global Research, for example has lots of material on 9/11 complicity and related scandals, unknown agents posted extremely offensive Holocaust Denial material -- which was used by mainstream media to smear the website's sponsor.

The Wikipedia encyclopedia has also allowed anyone to publish anything without a vetting process to check facts -- Wikipedia has now been forced to require a modest effort at verification.

Editorial peer review is not censorship. Always check your sources.

Otoxx, read thru this whole thread. I think the reasoning there is compelling enough for us to give the seat to Naija. . .

My story:

I was headed for a first from primary school. Prodigy in a lot of subjects, the lowest I have ever scored in an IQ test till this day remains a score of 186. For crying out loud, I had the confidence to face entirely Art subjects in my GCE, and entirely Science in my SSCE, and I excelled both ways.

Then I got into UNIBEN, and as they say pride goeth before a fall. I flunked (I like to blame the distractions, women, money {you see, I was on 3 scholarships as well as being an astute student businessman}, and football). But the truth is, I just didn't apply myself as I should have.

I think it is a testament to my ability that I managed to graduate with my classmates and had the best project in my class.

Moral: be all you can be and stay focussed. Odimegwu lost the plot.

Nice signature Ugwumba, though I'd have preferred if you'd given those kind regards in Igbo grin. Funny that you should mention Oyibo. Probably you've met me dad. The man chokes whenever that name is mentioned,

Jokes EtcRe: Statue Of Infidelity by Chxta(m): 4:34am On Aug 29, 2006
A husband and wife are sitting quietly in bed reading when the wife looks over at him and asks a bold question.

WIFE: "What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?"
HUSBAND: "Definitely not!"
WIFE: "Why not - don't you like being married?"
HUSBAND: "Of course I do."
WIFE: "Then why wouldn't you remarry?"
HUSBAND: "Okay, I'd get married again."
WIFE: "You would?" (with a hurtful look on her face).
HUSBAND: (makes audible groan).
WIFE: "Would you live in our house?"
HUSBAND: "Sure, it's a great house."
WIFE: "Would you sleep with her in our bed?"
HUSBAND: "Where else would we sleep?"
WIFE: "Would you let her drive my car?"
HUSBAND: "Probably, it is almost new."
WIFE: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?"
HUSBAND: "That would seem like the proper thing to do."
WIFE: "Would she use my golf clubs?"
HUSBAND: "No, she's left-handed."
WIFE: -- silence --
HUSBAND: "Shit."
