Good day Oga Gazzuz,

Thank you for the good job, which are doing on this forum.
I have this question about flood title car(s). I am about to partake in some auction in the US through a friend. I have this car that caught my fancy, recent model and cool piece of machinery.

The only problem is that it have this flood title to it, and the friend is telling me that its not much of a problem. He even told me that it can be sorted here in Nigeria, that majority of such cars (flood Tittle) are shipped to Nigeria daily.

As a professional, what would be your advice sir? Is it possible that I can be able to put this kind of car back to the road again?

From my observation, these sort of cars are attracting a lot of bid in the auctions. Is there any other things they can use this cars for? maybe spare parts?

Knowing Nairaland for a while, I know some will jump in here to insult my person. The truth is that all is welcome. In all I will love a constructive criticism. And most of all, I would love to hear the opinion of the Chief himself.

GavelSlam:

You've seen the presidency's tweets on the matter but you seem to prefer "anonymous sources".
Did you just quote me to refer the presidency tweet?

Is it not that same presidency that accused the present Senate President of all the corruptible acts in the book, which you so helped in disseminating in the social web sphere, including this forum.

Just because you have an internet enabled cell phone, does not mean that you are invited in a national security discuss.

I suggest that you use your data to hook up with peers on Facebook and tweeter. You can as well check out some porn sites, but leave national security for those that understand the language.

National security is not about what the presidency said. Do you sincerely expect them, not to defend their choice of appointment?

All these careless security missteps and calculated bastardisation of sacred institutions will still come back to hunt us as a nation. not as an Hausa man, Igboman, or a Yoruba. We face a serious threat as a nation, and some felt that everything is OK, because some men are out there working to keep us safe.

Let's keep deceiving ourselves, hoping to score a cheap political point. Its been about Three decades that this NIA have been in operation, and all of a sudden the ikoyi whistle blower, and this appointment.

Can't we sit back and ask ourselves some questions?
PoliticsRe: NIA DG, Ahmed Rufai, A Misfit, National Security Threat - NIA Directors by chymer(m): 11:17am On Feb 01, 2018
When we discuss national security in this country, people tend to discuss, based on their tribal and religious affinity.

Then, the partisan "yes-men" and "we-against-them" proponents, tend to elevate it to a shouting fit.

As at this moment in this country, Nigeria. A fine line have been drawn on the sand. Its either you are for, or against. Objectivity, and sincere national discuss have been defeated by sectional preservative rhetorics.

The issue with the recent appointment of the DG, NIA should be a thing of concern both to victorious 97 Percenters and the wailling 5 percenters.

Wholesale off-load of the men who have dossiers upon dossiers of security materials of this nation, just to please a few of the "cabal" is a dangerous adventure, to say the least.

Likewise, the appointment of a man with questionable nationality, and dual allegiance is also a no no in the security world.

I will be surprised if the powers that be would ever do anything to correct this anomaly, it happened in the police force, and nothing was done.

We should endeavour to keep our security as a nation away from partisan influence.
If the death actually see and hear what the living are doing, believe me, "many men" who gave it all to serve and defend this country, would be turning in their countless unmarked graves, regretting why they ever have to die in the first place.

I am not a happy man.

I read the full article on premium times website, and I must say that OBJ left nothing to imagination.

His figurative assertion about the "Horseman" got me thinking how this elder statesman, continued to improve on everything concerning his life and education.

I am not a fan of his antics, but sometimes we have to sit back and admire the courage and the will to push forward in this man. From being a two-time head of state, as military man and a civilian, yet going back to school to pursue his educations up to PHD level is nothing but exceptional.

Lol. Do you even realized that even if US recognized it it still doesn't change anything as far as the world still doesn't do.

If only US move their Embassy to Jerusalem and every other nations left their Embassies in Tel Aviv does it change anything?

When international discussion is going on Tel Aviv would be recognized as the capital, does it change anything?

So, in case you don't know, it was a resounding defeat to Trump and Israel. And that's why Trump is threatening every nation. But he's just a child in adult skin, so such tantrums are expected.
Did you just laugh out loud?

I wonder what was so funny about what you just stated. Let's take your argument point by point, and see if your laughter would turn to a frawn or not.

It might interest you to know that this is not a new policy in the US. America being one of the powers that created the present day Israel, had proposed Jerusalem as Israel capital. they have an embassy site in Jerusalem which is a 99 yrs lease of one dollar per year.

The US did not force any other nation of the world to move their embassy to Jerusalem, so why the headache, since you believe it does not make any difference if other nations did not follow.

There are other nations who did vote in favour of Jerusalem, try and get your facts straight. If these Nine nation states move their embassies to Jerusalem, whose gain is it? Israel's or Pakistani's?

Before we even go further, how many nation states did actually recognize Israel when they were created a state? That will show you that Nine countries is a big gain.

This is a very difficult situation to call. You can choose to see it as a half empty bottle, while others see it as half full. For the fact that member states actually voted against Jerusalem as the capital of Israel does not take away the veto from United States.

There have been numerous resolutions in the UN, condemning the expansion of Gilos (settlement) in east Jerusalem, yet each year, such settlements kept expanding. Now If I may ask, what difference will this one make?

Hope you understand what veto power means in the United Nations?
PoliticsRe: Fani-Kayode Criticizes Presidency Over Rejecting US Recognition Of Jerusalem by chymer(m): 12:17pm On Dec 22, 2017
This is a non binding resolution.

Its more like a talk shop. There have been many of such against North Korea and Syria. Russia and China vetoed them all.

Syria is still in shambles, and the North Korea is still developing Nuclear capabilities.

So why the fuss about this UN resolution?

Some of us here need to understand about international diplomacy and how the game is been played in UN.

UN can vote all they want, even if its 150:0
America can still veto it and nothing will still happen.

If the Saudis are not in support of this, there would have been protests that would have turn bloody.
Because they are the ones making the funds available for such.

Due to the hot weather of the north, they will first ask for water, nyem mmiri.

And the way the thing sounds to them was inyamiri, so called every Igbo man inyamiri.

Those that travel to Niger republic and far north will tell you how important water is.

NK have actually succeeded in bringing the world to the table for their sanctions, anything other than that is a pipe dream.

Its like a peacock fluffing its feather to scare away a threat. NK have had more failed tests than successful ones. its like 13:4. While the USA have perfected their ICBM for many years and no body heard about it or them threatening to annihilate the universe with it.

The worst they can do is hit South Korea, or Japan, and that is when USA will have a legitimate reason to test their new technology on weaponry in that country.

They war hawks are about yo make good money. Sadam made same mistake, and he paid dearly.

JuanDeDios:
You're suggesting that the government may have decided to pay the whistleblower even though it was indeed security operations money just so the public will lay off and they won't have to declassify information? Well, that's possible. But for those of us looking from the outside, this is a case of the more you look. . . The NIA does not even operate in Nigeria by law.
The Government is gonna pay him to save face.
But he should be ready for some crazy tax that will knock his brain back to factory reset. Maybe 35% and another 10-15% for his lawyer.

Can't you see how many people calling the government corrupt? This shows how our outlook as a nation have been polarises through party, religion and tribal lines.

I am not a fan of the administration.
I personally campaigned against them, and might probably do same in 2019.

But when it comes to National Security, we need to shed those tribal, religious and partisan toga and speak up like Nigerians. Doing that, we can reclaim our dear nation from the hands of these corrupt individuals.

To save the face of the NIA the DG had to go. The NIA is not stupid to leave that money in ikoyi. They have more money stashed in various places. The NIA is just Is not just an intelligence agency. It's the intelligence agency the whole country depends on. They had to save the face of the administration before the NNigerian electorate and at the same time protect the integrity of their operations. Magu committed a grave error trying to do his work. It happens very well before the police and the Secret Service. The police never learns. In the next five years when we have all forgotten this case, the whistler and every other body involved now will somehow be reaping bad.
You are Informed. National security is not Child's play and the C in C is aware of that.

Which agency goes for a high profile burst, with a live TV crew? EFCC should have been an arm of Nollywood. They have lost many serious cases of corruption, even with glaring evidences, because they are lacking in technicalities. Only having loud mouthed prosecutors.

Before you know it, they start shouting corruption is fighting back? Why won't corruption fight back? When they lack in due diligence and depends on third party for their investigations.

If they have copied the way NDLEA carries out their own bursts, we won't be having this drama right now.

He did not rat on the NIA. He saw cash and blew a whistle. It turned out to be the NIA. If it was ok to have the cash there, I expect the NIA to be able to explain the president who would use his presidential powers to call off the EFCC since it's a national security matter. With the way things have gone, I believe this was stolen money, nothing more.

If Oke sends goons to kill the whistleblower, that will be the most cowardly act ever. I doubt he'd be that dumb since the guy would be a known person in security circles.
The guy saw the money and blew the whistle. that's fair enough.

Why is the government soft-pedalling in prosecting the DG? That money must have been classified. If that happens the discussions about it goes through secured channels. The TV interviews and Press Conferences will be ditched. The social media will be left in darkness.

There is this saying within the circles; "Deny everything. Avoid responsibility. At worst, shift the blame".

We can't get any compelling revelations than what we already have, the government is applying second flank mechanism. The cover have been blown, all that's need now is to save face. You don't wash your national security linen in the public and not have your fingers burnt, one way or the other.

This is the stage we are now. Somebody must take the fall, regardless. But not the Men.

NB.
I am just a private citizen. I do not hold any brief for them.
Thank you
