The Presidency has reacted to a letter by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), instructing the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, to monitor and arrest Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose anytime he wants to run away from the country.

9News Nigeria had reported that the agency in a letter signed by its Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, to the Comptroller-General of Customs, urged the service to place the outgoing Ekiti governor on the watch list and ensure he does not escape.

Reacting to the development, Buhari’s Aide on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie on her Twitter page called on Nigerians to join hands with the EFCC to ensure Fayose defends his integrity or lack of it.
She assured Nigerians that corruption under the Buhari administration will be defeated in high places.

Onochie wrote “It’s not just the customs; every Nigerian should stand by EFCC so Gov. Ayo Fayose is given the opportunity to defend his integrity or lack of it.
“Together, we will defeat corruption in high places.”

My dear doctors, it seems all the commenter in this tread says ills of you people, don't you think it is high time you people sit down and search your inner selves so as to bring a change of attitude? We do have few good ones those few are the ones that God have always directed to me. Where i did not support there pomposity is when they said nurses cannot earn as much as they do. But come to think of it, majority of the midwives therein are more experienced than the doctors. On two occasion, i have seen a nurse and a pharmacist telling patient to go back to the doctor to change the prescription given because it was a wrong medication, yet, they as if they know it all. The good ones are very calm and good just that they are few. May God help us in the hand of the bad ones. I will never come in contact with those ones.

Nigeria may have more serious forgers than Kemi if you devote your time on it. Kemi is NYSC which the youth that it is meant for are calling for its scrapping, what about those with more serious certificate forging and buying? Abdulaziz, have you ever sat down to ask yourself why is Nigeria not working, would you relate the failure of Nigeria to flaunting ingenious/fake certificates which does not conform with their working portfolios? Not until Nigeria stops employing this person is from my place even when she knows that the person only saw the four walls of the university but the university did go through him or her. It is only when she starts to employ the right people in the right places, Nigeria will never progress and will never march with the smallest poor country in West Africa. The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘C’ Owerri, said it intercepted a truck carrying bales of military wears illegally imported into the country by yet to be identified persons.  A mobile patrol team at the Onitsha, Anambra State Head Bridge axis of the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘C’ Owerri on Friday, intercepted the truck with military hardware and medicament concealed within.

The Controller of Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘C’ Owerri, Comptroller Olusemire Kayode, disclosed this on Friday.

Kayode gave a breakdown of the intercepted consignments as including:

• 90 pairs of military camouflage uniform
• 97 pieces of military camouflage jungle hats
• 202 pieces of military camouflage round neck vest
• 20 pieces of military camouflage singlet
• 40 pieces of military camouflage jungle boots
• 10 pieces of military camouflage water bags
• Two (2) rolls of plain military khaki material
• 7 cartons of 402 packs of hydrochloride Royal tramadol containing 10x10x10 tablets made in India
• Four (4) cartons of 60 packs Tramadol injection, made in India
• Three (3) cartons of 140 packs of CSP with codeine cough syrup made in UK
• 100 packs of Diazepam made in India
• Two (2) cartons of 231 packs of Juhel D5 tablets
• One (1) carton of 100 packs of Pankizol
• Others are 10 cartons of new flip chart board, 51 cartons of lion school chalk, one carton of file.

Kayode, while fielding questions from journalists, stated that the seizure was made following a tip off from informants and urged the public to emulate such patriotism and forward valuable information to the Service.

He added that two suspects are in custody and thorough investigation is ongoing.

He praised the doggedness and preparedness of officers and affirmed that the Unit under his watch will nip the affairs of smugglers in the bud.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended the resignation of Kemi Adeosun from office as Minister of Finance.

However, the party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Adeosun for forging her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Exemption Certificate in addition to alleged impropriety and abuse of office as minister.

The party also raised the alarm of plots by the Federal Government to secretly move Adeosun out of the country following her resignation.

The statement reads in part, “The party invites Nigerians to note that President Muhammadu Buhari, whose administration has become notorious for shielding its many fraudulent and corrupt officials, could not summon the rectitude to sack Mrs. Adeosun, adding that she would have still been in office, if not for the sustained uproar by Nigerians and international creditors.

“Our investigations reveal that the Federal Government, which earlier made efforts to defend Mrs. Adeosun, has already perfected a plot to help her to evade prosecution following fears that she could open up on the humongous corruption going on in the financial sector under the Buhari administration.

“The PDP is also aware of plots by the Federal Government to secretly move her out of the country, and for that, we urge the international community to be at alert and ensure she is repatriated to face justice in Nigeria should the Federal Government succeeds in its devious plan.

“Furthermore, we are also aware that President Buhari was not by any measure prepared to drop her from his cabinet but for the demand by those responsible for her appointment, who protested her continued stay in office, although for their own selfish gains. A case of corruption fighting back!

“The PDP therefore demands an immediate open inquest into the records of the Finance Ministry under Mrs. Adeosun, to unravel all improprieties by the Buhari Presidency cabal, including alleged diversion of oil proceeds, fraudulent oil subsidy deals, leading to high fuel price; depletion of our foreign reserves, embezzling of funds retuned by Switzerland and other huge sleazes in the ministry.

“The party also insists that President Buhari must be held responsible for all infractions in the finance ministry under Adeosun, as he appointed and retained her despite having information on the certificate forgery; a situation that confirms the decadence and lack of due diligence in the Buhari Presidency.

“Nigerians already know that the Buhari Presidency is a citadel of iniquity with inherent proficiency in stealing, forgery and manipulation of processes. This perhaps explains why President Buhari has not relieved his Special Assistant on Prosecution and Chairman of the Special Investigative Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla of his appointment in spite of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) confirmation that he forged his Secondary School Certificate.

“Is it not clear to all that the Buhari administration’s so-called anti-corruption war and purported integrity are mere orchestrations to hoodwink Nigerians and the international community, while Mr. President oversees the most corrupt administration in the history of our nation?
