please I need advice from all parents and Educators and parents on Nairanland. today I just realized my 3years old son cant even read Letters A to F talk less of A to Z but can read Figure 1 to 10, I am seriously worried.

I don't stay at home except for weekends as I am working outside my state, but due to the curfew I find my way back home yesterday so I was able to discover this problem in the early hours of today.

I know the mother is trying cos I have seen different live videos where she was teaching him and working on his assignment, most times I pity the boy so much because of the beating from his mum alone makes me sick but I can't really complain since I know is for his own good and I know how stressful it is for a mother with 2 kids to manage her time and all that....

I called his teacher immediately and she told me my son will be going to Nursery class when the present term is over due to his age, sadly she didn't say things I expect to hear from her so I told her I will visit the school once the curfew is over, I need explanation, is private school that bad these days ? my son can't even write 2 and 3

I have bought Video CD, bought many play book materials containing letters and figures displayed boldly, I bought counting and so on when he was 2 years so i expect a better result by now.

pls sir and ma, I need help on how to guide this boy to learn better, what should I do and how should I go about it.

Note: any time I am home, I always go through his books, assignments and read his school rhymes for him.

Long ago when I was about 6,There's this game children used to play called "war start" children had wooden swords, catapult and a rubber band weapon that they can shoot bullets made of folded papers and iron wires. Children from the next town numbering at least would come to the area I lived to fight. More than 20 children from each side would fight. I was an ajebo so I only peeped through the window. It was usually fun for me until my parents send me outside to wash plates, Omo when I see those warriors coming towards me I would run inside and the elders in the house would chase me out to go and watch plates. In my mind I would ask while crying , can't these people see there's a war going on? What if I died?
Sometimes they would send me to buy something from a specific shop, deep in enemy territory. Chai.
well when the invaders capture me I always trick them to release me. I'll tell them am their spy and support them. That I can be giving them information. then they'll release me, children.

I also played war start, there was this funny day i made a bullet proof out of paper to prevent the paper bullet from hurting when when it touches some one, so i tested it on a friend never figuring out that the folded paper i used was very thick compared to the so called bullet proof, nor be small cry end am

There was this fish pond near a river , the fish pond was out of bounds but we do hunt for crabs along the river banks, then one day an older guy convinced us to fish from the pond, we were very young then he told us the pond does not belong to anybody, we believed him after we bought a hook and we were scouting for earthworms to serve as baits, we reached the pond and we started fishing

It was a very fine experience, the anticipation of getting a fish hooked, the fresh breeze and the numerous jokes we shared was priceless, at last we got a fish but we were too tired to continue and we went home little did we know that the owner of the pond has been alerted to consistent incursion to his pond then disaster struck , we went there with a basket this time with the older guy calling the shots, he threw the basket into the pond and we were amazed to see many fish inside but before dragging it to our side most of them jumped back to the river.

I think the noise we made that day made one worker around the place got alerted and he called other people, they rounded us up and threatened to throw us inside the pond to serve as meal for those fish, we (kids) all shouted in unison, pleading for mercy and pointed to the older guy for being the one that poisoned our mind, immediately 2 guys carried the guy and threatened to throw him inside the pond, he was screaming his lungs out, pleading that he is the only son of his parents, the guys replied him that fishes love eating only sons,

The whole scenario was terrifying, the next we saw was a big splash, the guy was thrown at the edge of the pond, he quickly rose up and struggled to get out of the marsh, after getting on land he took off like a mad man, we (kids) were all laughing, the other guys were laughing too, then they warned us never to return to the pond again.

I bet you guys didn't forget this lesson in a hurry
