Are you for real? It appears your case is beyond redemption.
Philantropists:

I have seen this, the Société Générale translated Society General has been in existence since 1864 or before.

Somehow Nigerians established the same and ran it down, the European Société General has never gone down under rather they are expanding rapidly in Europe. The argument they put forward was that Okocha was defrauded by Société General, he may have been but not with Société Générale Europe (very impossible).

I am so worried and confused at how things are going. I went through hell yesterday. Trust no one cry

A close friend of mine proposed a new business idea(Okirika business precisely ) which I was very cool with it because we're almost in a festive period and he mentioned how much we stand to gain if we work together as a team.

Before this close friend of mine brought up this business idea of his, I had about 70k in my union account, he said I'd part with about 50k and he will also add his own 50k to make it a 100k so we can order for our goods directly from a guy he claimed he trusted. I gave him 50 then I was left with 20k with a lot of expenses but I had no worries because I felt — I have a legit business,
with alot of profit coming.

Now forward to last week Wednesday; our goods was supposed to be delivered on or before Thursday, so we start selling full time on Friday and Saturday.

PS: I have no clue about this business. my part was just to partner with my friend who understands
invest my own capital, have my goods delivered then business begins.

Now the real issues that are so much bothering me is; I don't even know the said guy who was suppose to deliver our goods, from the way things are going, I don't need a soothsayer to know I have been scammed likewise my friend.

God, why do bad things happen to
honest people with good intents.

I just felt like sharing this
here because I feel more like a FAM here.
Presently i'm so broke to the neck, like I literally need to start from the scratch. Please help me. I'd appreciate every help kind gesture from anyone who have enough to spare.
Thanks

I understand. One must also learn to talk with grace not with pump and pride.

He gets up to leave doesn't mean he is hating, for Pete's sake, he might just be feeling inadequate at that point. You interpreted his response very wrongly.

Feeling inadequate because he doesn't have a boy? But why are people like this? What of those who don't have even a child? Well I guess he would have preferred to be childless. People are soooo ungrateful. People pay millions and go through pains to get a child. If you so need a boy badly why not adopt. Well such a person will still feel inadequate sha.

It's a big shame on us as Nigerians

And the worst part is, for the most part, Nigerians are shameless.

How can we continue like this for goodness sakes?
It is so so sad to read this again. Not that I don't know they happen but that it appears we are helpless. It has festered. Is this how we are going to live our lives and die . I don't think this is the best way to have lived on this planet earth. How can a people be this helpless. We are screwed.

Money can either appreciate or depreciate, especially in Nigeria that don't have a true value for their currency.
You can buy dollar today at 450 and keep then CBN come with their interventions and push it to 383 on wednesday morning sad
You go dey cry like pussycat throughout that week.
And the funny thing be say everyone will be offloading at the same time so much so that you will have to sell lower than new market price sef to see your naira back.
All abokis go dey tell you say "I no want am" grin
Hoarding fx and foreign debt has killed more people in Nigeria than AIDS cheesy

This man get mouth no be small. "You go dey cry like pussycat throughout that week." This got me LMAO as I kept imagining how a cat cries. He however has some points. Truth it the way our govts do things most times defies logic. On a good day there's no reason why a dollar should sell for N380 now given the present economic realities but CBN can come with their wonders.

what can you sell let me see where I can point to you.

Electronics, office equipment and computers. It doesn't need to be restricted to these alone. Van be any goods/Products that can hold value and be easily sold.

Inflation is yet to set in or atleast, not to its optimum degree to this new exchange rate.
Trust me it is still coming.
If I were you,I will use all of that naira liquid in my account to purchase now and fill my warehouse and cut my losses now rather than later cos its gonna get worse.
My brother I get your point but the question is where do you see the goods to buy now? And how do you bring it to your store except one is a rice seller. I'm open to your advice.

Properties / Re: Help! Our Tenant Is About To Evict Us by cirtapoyat: 12:07am On Apr 11, 2020
Who is your father and who is the landlord? Your daddy has a house and a landlord broke the tenant door. Your statement is ambiguous.
s4cs:
So I'll try to make this as snappy as possible.
My dad owns a compound in kaduna and there was this tenant that was refusing to pay his rent and upon that,he still travelled with an outstanding debt.
I don't know what the landlord was thinking, but he broke the tenants door and packed out his whole properties and changed the mans lock.
However, when the tenant heard about this, he returned immediately and went on to sue my the landlord claiming damages of upto 5 million naira(well my landlord didn't take the matter seriously cos i asked him how the case was going and he just waved me aside). But then, few weeks ago,we got an eviction letter from the court giving us an ultimatum of 14 days to leave the property.
Now we are planning to appeal this judgment after this corona saga.
Now i would need your help on how to go about this..

I would really appreciate if this can get to the front page. Please mods

It is a side business which a lot of senior bankers do.

They get personal loans from their employers and loan out to people they know, usually bank customers who they can vouch for. The interest is usually between 20% to 25%.

They do this side business with between N5 million to N30 million.

Since you are not an insider in the lending business it will be a risky risky business for you to venture into.

You want to start with N100 million, I will advise you to buy a microfinance bank or get a license for the operation of a microfinance bank

This man you're well experienced in investment world. True it's common among them but na coded.

Haha. Are you guys really serious about this thing you're saying. 5 bedroom duplex at 18M. Does it include the interior? I mean everything. Kitchen cabinet, wardrobe paintings etc? Na wa o.

The liquidity status given by CBN shows that there is no risk, even Osun State bond performed. There is an irrevocable order which corporate lawyers to the bond must have secured that will mandate the accountant general of the federation to debit the payment at the source, it is what is left after the deduction that the state government can spend. Lagos State government even went a step further by creating a sinking fund for the bond.

With the order given to the accountant general of the federation the bond repayment and coupon MUST be paid before the state pays salaries, build hospitals and schools, repair roads and other expenses of the state government.

Lagos State has a budget of over N1 Trillion and the current is about N100 which is 10% of the budget.

Better to buy in the primary market than to buy at a premium in the secondary market.

I'm impressed by your quality contributions to this thread. I had been a visitor on Nairaland for upward of six years. I registered because I can relate to the discussions going on here. Kudos to others who have also kept this thread alive. Having lost a fortune in stocks I had vowed not to have anything to do with it again until I started to read interesting perspectives to it here though that hasn't made me change my mind. I have some tidy investment in treasury bills. Some have matured while some are still running. I'm looking at the money in my account without knowing what to do. I once 'enjoyed' TB at 18.5%. I guess it's time to do something else. I'm thinking of contract financing(I will need to learn the rope). My major fear is loss in value of this money. To the person who thought some people just come here to brag with figures he/she shouldn't measure others by his/her financial positions.
