TravelPilot Dies, Passenger Lands Plane by ciscostaz(op): 8:20am On Apr 14, 2009
Pilot dies, passenger lands plane

A passenger landed a twin-engine plane in Florida after the pilot died in flight with a total of six people on board.

Federal Aviation Administration officials say the pilot died after take-off from an airport in Naples on Sunday. It was on autopilot and climbing toward 10 000 feet when the pilot died.

The passenger who took over is licensed for single-engine planes but isn't certified to fly the larger King Air craft.

An air traffic controller helped the passenger down by calling a friend in Connecticut who knows the King Air plane and relaying instructions. The plane landed safely at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers.

The plane had been headed to Jackson, Mississippi. The names of the pilot and passengers have not been released.

@poster,

I can see you are enjoying yourself. All the comments, and your responses.

Well, I hope you have not joined NAAC (pronounced NAKS) Nigerian Association of AIDS Carriers.

You better concentrate on your education than continue with this your phallus expedition.

And to the lady that gave you the 'forbidden fruit' that is sharkking you, she will soon be caught. I wonder which style she gave you that made you loose your sense of reasoning. huh Because i can see you have been reminiscently relaying the show in your mind. Why cry blue murder? I hope somebody will not work on your wife like that too in future.

PoliticsWho Is Responsible For The Present State Of Nigeria by ciscostaz(op): 9:00pm On Apr 12, 2009
I have searched so much but could not come to a better conclusion. Who is responsible for our present predicament.

So many people can not afford to eat. We can not send our children to good public schools because the teachers are not ready to do their job. They are not motivated. The private schools are too expensive. Imagine paying N50k as school fees for a nursery student in abuja and you are told that it is the cheapest in town? No better health care services as private clinics thrives everywhere. And to cap it all, the economy seems to be getting from bad to worse. who is really to blame?

Is it we the people, is it the politicians? or is it that God is angry with all of us. Imagine, we all wanted a change in Leadership but we are not being given the freedom to elect people who can take us to promised land. We are being ruled by peoplw who are thrown upon us? Why? Why?? Whyhuh

I am confused. Please Nairalanders, tell me.
PoliticsRe: Soludo: Decision Time For Yar’adua by ciscostaz: 8:32pm On Apr 12, 2009
@poster,

In all fairness, Charles Soludo is not the cause of the Economic Crisis in the country. Though he erred in telling Nigerians that our economy is insulated from the Global Crisis.  At least, today we have strong banks and we can put our money in the Banks and sleep with our two eyes closed.

For the stock market, it fell naturally.  How do you expect a nation that depends solely on oil. We do not produce anything presently and you expect our economy to be buoyant? Is the oil prices not falling? So it means, the money we make before will drop too. And most importantly, investors ran with their money because they were not sure of what will happen in nigeria politically. And the little money we have now, is being siphoned by the selfish politicians. Imagine how they all live. Actually, there are so many things that led to our present state.

We just need to pray for God to give us good leaders. That is why everyone is suffering.

Our politicians are our major enemy.

If Yar'Adua decides to do away with him (all well and good, no man is indispensable), he should ensure he replaces him with a competent hand or else, we will all have our self to blame.

SportsIraqi Soccer Player Shot Dead Attempting Goal by ciscostaz(op): 8:55am On Mar 17, 2009
A soccer player in Iraq died on Sunday after he was shot in the head by a spectator in the stands. The attack took place just as the striker was set to score a tying goal in the last minute of a game between two rival teams in Hilla, a city in the south of Iraq that is home to about 500,000 people.

The BBC reports, citing local security officials, that the striker was shot in the head during the final minute of the game, which was being played between teams from Sinjar and Buhayra. One suspect has been arrested and Iraqi police are continuing to investigate.

The killing comes at a time when some have pointed to increased soccer games as a sign that Iraq is finding some sense of normalcy. Mohammed Salih, a 28-year-old Iraqi, told an American reporter last week, "This is the first time since 2003 I've felt safe enough to come back to the stadium. There's so much news about bad politics and poor security. Football is the only thing that brings relief to my soul."

PhonesRe: Beware! Visafone Has Changed Tariff by ciscostaz(op): 5:36pm On Jan 31, 2009
@all,

You see my brother, what Visafone did to me is like defrauding a nation secretly.

When they came into the market, their tariff was so attractive that their success surpassed all the big guys they met in the market. so you can see that they had several subscribers as they quickly moved from 07025 to 0726 numbers and they have almost exhausted the current 0704. I have told several people to migrate to visafone because i believe this is good for Nigeria - lower tariff.

My grouse with them is that, they should have at least tell us that because of so so so reason, they have to adjust their tariff but they just did it silently and they have kept sending annoying text messages for you to download caller tunes and other promo texts.
PhonesBeware! Visafone Has Changed Tariff by ciscostaz(op): 8:03am On Jan 30, 2009
Guys, beware!! Visa fone have changed their tariff. If you make visafone call to other network, they deduct close to N33.

The most annoying part is that they did not deem it fit to inform their subscribers before effecting the changes.  They are busy deceiving people with their promo. imagine, those promos are supposed to be used to reward subscribers but here in nigeria, they use it to make more money. Telling you to send text which goes for as high as N100 sometimes to enable you to win.

Please, when next you make a call, check your balance o.

PhonesRe: Research & "FBT" Thread ( This is not a chat room ) by ciscostaz: 3:54pm On Jan 27, 2009
@all,

I have said it before and i will say it again.  This is the most active thread on Nairaland. Haba, people love free stuff no be small and I no blame anybody. Na the Country cause am.  For this advance country, when you load credit for your phone, na free internet you go get as an additional service.  In fact for dubai, local landline to landline call na free but for naija dem go milk you till your tire infact till all the milk for your body dry like kainji dam. Abi no be the reason why we no get light again be dat? Dont be surprised that very soon, you go just load credit for your fone, and gbam, without making any call, this gsm people go chop am, begin ask you to recharge.

I have often wondered how this guys struggle to get solution to FBT and how easily the thing is blocked.  In fact, there needs to be a committee of forum members to do a census and take note of all the traitors for this house.  this is a thread that keeps people awake 24/7 where people post continuously into the wee hour of the night only for it to get into wrong hands and the next moment, the thing will get blocked. Na so so begi begi from morning till night. haaa, the people wey turn us into beggars like this, well, i reserve my comments sha.

I pity the research people sha. Your reward is in heaven.

NOTICE
In the Bible, when you hear "verily verily I say unto you" from Jesus, then you should know that somebody is getting instant judgment be dat.  for this thread, when Dual Core begin look for him brush to do cleaning, make una no say him dey go carry him padlock come lock this thread be dat. So guys get ready for another locking. But guys too should be more reasonable with posts so that Dual core no go dey lock the thin per second, per second.  This thread is an exciting one and when its under lock and key, it is like grave yard. all the blog sites go go to sleep. we dont want any dull moment now. Oga Dual core, abeg, reel out your rules and regualtions again so that guys go dey do the right thin.

Una do well ooooo.
