a simple static website, yea . . . an [dynamic] app . . no if it were to be so, then almost all programmers would have no jobs |
@JFOD You're kinda correct, yea. So I basically asked him to find similarities between "sentences' and not "individual words". Thus, it accounts that you need to give consideration to punctuation marks and spaces, typical of a complete English language expression. Its an approximate 78%. or 77.777777777% if you want to be precise. Have been very busy with work and unable to read a post for more than 2 mins. Saw the algo, very impressive although you can instantly tell it's not so efficient. |
svg stands for "scalable vector graphics" which means they can be scaled to any dimension (width x height, screen size) without loss of quality. png jpeg and the rest will become blurry when you scale them svgs on the other hand will never and will remain as sharp it looks on a phone all the way up to a 125" 4k screen they get painted along with html, so the UX is better as against waiting for images to download, and see an alt text or worse still, an empty box where the image will reside. |

@kayodez. I don't know if you realize that Nairaland has a search button. Look up above, it;s there. In saner forums, you will penalized for repeat posting of closed threads and topics. |
Who let the dogs out? Anyways, oga Elon Musk, I am only interested in your 7+ years experience of I just need you to solve the below: Write an algorithm that shows the percentage of similarity between the sentences belo: A. You still never blow. B. You still never blow reach. Expected answer is 78% similarity. Feel free to use SO and the internet. |
SqueezedPant:Okay I think I get you now. You should be thankful for that, shouldn't you. Yes, there are people who can learn anything, become anything to be, and can flow with anything, if they put their mind to it. they are called "geniuses" and you might be one who knows. Cheers. On the other hand, if you've only spent 6 mths studying JS, then the chickens haven't arrived. Matter of fact, the eggs havent even formed the chicken. So for now keep going. When you meet JS proper, you might reconsider and delete your earlier posts. Cheers once again. |
Allow him to bask in the euphoria of newfound knowledge The chickens of javascript will soon come home to roost ![]() |
When we tell you go study CS, you'll want to tear us apart. you'll soon ask us what was used to create the machine code and what language was used to create the language that was used to create the language that created the machine codes. |
explorer250:Ah brother. YOur journey stiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar. LOL. Yeah someday. |
tensazangetsu20:If truly you were on that path. I see no reason why you stopped. When you could easily get jobs as a remote dev. Or IT support specialist at Amazon or even Github. CrossOver pays up to 100k, i know people there . .and that's just an example , But many have complained about the work-life balance. There's TopTal as a very popular one. Even Google will not pay you 350k, even a Principal Software Engineer wont make that. You gotta be VP of Engineering at least. But then how do you become one of those, you still gotta start from E3 to rake up the years and experience. You are looking at 12 years of field experience. Secondly those things are not easy to learn . You were perhaps cramming which is what everybody that didn't go through the 4-year curriculum does, especially if they have an interview. You've spent time on Hackerrank but I'm every sure if I ask you to whiteboard some everyday algorithms over a live video call, you'll goof. I stand corrected to be proven otherwise though. Once again, hackerrank and others will at most get you E3 level aka Entry level Cheers. |
explorer250:You actually have not learnt Vue enough, that's why. Like I said earlier, altho we can implement the same thing using vanilla languages, frameworks were meant to simplify things and make us iterate faster. |
explorer250:Sooo true. I once read somewhere that 80% of websites out there running on React and Vue and Angular could have necessarily been written in vanilla JS or jQuery; and don't necessarily have to use those Frameworks. And still maintain the same performance and looks. And only 20% were actually complex enough to have justified the use of the aforementioned frameworks. Take that to the bank! |
NobleEugene5:I don't do "sites" anymore, same goes for HTML Send a PM, let's talk. |
NobleEugene5:Around 9, 10 I was hitting about 90WPM on a typing test. Thanks to my elder sis who brought home a typewriter. At 15, I expect you've already set yourself on the path for great things. So if someone tells you've done something badly, don't use your age as an excuse for failure. Not everybody lived long enough to see 15. Do good and be good and be great. Cheers. |
tensazangetsu20:Wicked keh? Be like them never ask you to rotate tree before? or implement Buddy Buffering on a white-board during a technical interview. At that point, the Python, Javascript, MERN abi na MEAN that you know will fail you. That my friend, is the height of wickedness. ![]() |
NobleEugene5:So i perused both sites. And let me start with the negatives first. Both sites look very similar even though they have different audiences. Makes me feel you slapped a "theme" on both and "edited" the contents. You still have an issue with padding, I guess you always forget . . Perhaps add a padding on your overall html parent, so even if you forget, at least, you've got a backup. Positives. They look better than the one posted at the onset. And yeah, they are good enough for medium static web projects. Advice: Still go back to HTML and CSS. Spend another thorough 6mths there. Dont bother to thank me later. Cheers. |
The5DME:I think I will give you the best advice I have ever thought of giving anybody on this forum. Learn C first, as most interpreted languages are built ontop of it. Learning C will push you into the fundamentals of programming and computer science. If you have time you can go for C++ and C# additionally. When you are done with C, your eyes would be opened enough, and trust me, you'll know where to go next. To build a very good house, you need a lay a very strong foundation. Bad foundation, house will collapse. You choose. |
Karleb:Boss Karleb True, trust me, i was only very curious to see what a site that wasnt built with ionic looks likeas against a site built with one. I felt frameworks and libraries are supposed to make the job easier and better, but then, it now seemed like the opposite . . they are actually make it harder, and worse, and uglier. . . if u get what i mean lol |
The5DME:Good day, yes please |
NobleEugene5:Good in css? OK Anyways, can i see any other projects you have? why did you go with ionic? |
Finally, when you're in development, stop USING final-destined URLs and i mean dont use the URL you would be showing to the public when you're done. Cos the search engines and bot would soon crawl that page as people are checking it out and index it. When the site is made properly, some peeps would still be seeing old attributes/indexes especially for some stubborn ones who dont like to clear their cache for any reason, e.g. me. and it's gonna f*ck up your SEO real bad. Always use a temporary disposable URL . . if you're into CI/CD, its easy-peasy to generate one automatically during the process. Cheers once again. |
Now to the review. Are you quarreling with padding? ![]() Plus images are overstretched and thus no longer legible on desktop I like that you took the bold step, but my advice is you really need to go back to the basics of HTML and CSS Drop the Angular framework for now, you need to understand the core technology before picking up the framework. The site doesnt look like what was done with a framework at all. Cos the CSS i repeat CSS lacks too much substance. If this is the foundation, its gonna look very bad when you're done. Plus saying its for a client, is very worrisome. Like, someone will pay for it? Hmmn. Choice of color = bad Layout = bad Dont rest yet. A lot of work still needs to be done. Cheers. |
NobleEugene5:Nothing new, sir. All SPAs do this. In fact, JQuery can even do it. |
