Common sense also dictates that if something is as easily as profitable as it appears to be, then a "gold rush" would occur.
If the gold rush persists after a while, then indeed it's profitable. If it wanes off, it's a flash in the pan.
If there are no individuals there, even selling the shovels, then it's a bigger flash in the pan. Its either you understand these facts, or learn them the hard way. Cheers.

Or you perhaps meant one of the languages based on ecmascript specifications, with the most popular being Javascript?

It takes a lot to create a tech startup.
First comes the knowledge of programming, which is required to put together the required
tech stack to create a performant application.
Then next comes the business of programming which like every other business includes but is not limited to: validation, achieving product market fit, marketing, acquisition channels, customer retention and growth methods
To achieve the second stage, you will need a lots of experience under your belt; or at least somebody with lots of experience there as a cofounder.
Else, you will create trash.

p.s.: Talking about numbers, you don't necessarily need a team unless you're limited in tech which itself is not bad. In that case, you're screwed. Thats why it's good to have spent the years before taking that adventure. It helps to keep cost down at least a 2-man team i.e. tech and marketing. I built my product myself, zero external help, schema design, frontend, backend, UI/UX and cloud deployment and it took me 6mths+, cos i had a 9 -5 alongside.
It currently has over 250k+ lines of code.

Bros no need to make any long comments nairalanders hate hearing word. The first money I ever made in programming was 300 USD writing ten lines of php code for a wordpress website. My job now pays me 250 USD a week and I use PHP and Gatsby everyday. Mind you I started learning programming ending of February this year o. It's not even up to a year sef. Me I won't even talk again. People should even learn c++ if they want.

One thing I have come to realise is that when it comes to this programming of a thing what gives you money no one will ever show it to you. Everyone Is busy with the shiny stuff lols. The most important thing in this world is money. Imagine going for your high school or university reunion and your friend asks you what you doing now. You will say you are learning programming they will ask you where you are working you will say open source projects lols. Year in year out you are working on open source projects, making new projects yet no work yet no money lol. People have been programming over 3 years now not a single Kobo but someone who knows only HTML and CSS is making bread as a HTML email developer or selling HTML templates.

Stanliwise has replied you well, i still don't see why you are making baseless analogies. Anybody can earn good money with any language.

job b) locally approx 300k
job c) is my side business, around 200k

figures quoted above are per month, and all in javascript and it's variants
now there is very big potential for job c) to enter 1m, 2m or even 10m monthly recurring revenue . . because it is what it is, a business

Will i advise you to learn JAVASCRIPT if you want to make money or choose C# if you want to suffer? Hell NO!
Why? because i can replicate all earnings above using another language if i wanted. It's not the language that brings the money, it's what i have upstairs in my head.

If i take away your PHP skills, you're probably dead. Take away my javascript skills and i'll just laugh it off. You see the language as the income-driver, I see the skill instead not the language. That's why you just started writing codes this year, and i've been writing codes since . . cant remember

I can tell you Javascript is better than PHP at asynchronous I/O or I can say Python excels at data processing than Javascript
but i will never tell you to learn javascript over python or python over PHP or learn Go over C++. That's very "juniorish"
When you've packed enough years in the industry, like you rightly said, languages become tools and your aim is to get the job done
using the 'best" tool that favors the "circumstances" surrounding the job requirements at that particular point in time.
if i needed to process ultra large sets of data, do you feel i should use Excel sheets on my laptop? when I could make life easier using Hadoop?
For this singular reason, does it mean I'll tell you NOT TO LEARN EXCEL?

There is no language that will pay a junior up to 500k in Nigeria, Heck even seniors in Nigeria have not made such
. . except, it's a remote job, and then you convert the proceeds into the local currency,.. the power of geographical arbitrage
But that same logic holds sway for any other language, it doesn't have to be pro-PHP or anti-python

how long it would take depends on the complexity of the app
in my case, 6 mths.
