Karleb:your question is akin to asking "when last did you see somebody drive a McLaren . . . " while the most expensive car in your neck of woods might be a Mercedes Benz, in some areas, that would be the cheapest car you'd spot You get the idea. I used BFS and DFS a couple of months ago for a mobile e-commerce app. You're free to ask me why. |
COdeGenesis:LOL . . . hahaha, thats what you feel , right? Remember we have O Level, then Bachelors, then PhD and , , , u know d rest There are levels to this. |
99.99% of the comments so far are barely scratching the surface of programming. like 10% of programming Nobody mentioned skull-cracking algos and (data structures) like dijktra's algorithm, lee's algorithm, shortest path in a maze, BFS and DFS, kruskal and kadane etc . . lol |
Common man, there are many threads like these already . . right on the main page of this board Its always a good idea to use the search feature first . . . so we dont have to keep repeating ourselves over and over again . . |
Idontknowyou:No please, you should start with const, and when you encounter the problem of reassigning a value, change it to let. if you do it the other way round, and your project is huge, you would have gone too far and not even able to remember where you had "let" |
dragnet:While that maybe considered, for the sake of clarity, would you go to e.g. stackoverflow in search of an answer and post such an image like he did? You know what's gonna happen, right? |
It amazes me how people snap their screen with a mobile phone, when windows itself has a prebuilt snipping tool that allows you to take screenshots in full HD. Sad ![]() |
who eats at night with dark sunshades on? Funny |
fredpaul:He was pretty much confused cos the way u mentioned firefox made it seem like it was something unique to firefox ONLY and he's trying to tell you its pretty much standard for all browsers and its called DevTools for short. |
kayodez:For one, it's a false rating because nobody will rate themselves say 10% or 20%. You will like to feel good. For two, you don't set an exam and mark it yourself. Allow your interviewer to rate you after you must have undergone an interview. For three, humans are naturally bias and will rate themselves good. Who certified you 70% in javascript? Was it Brendan Eich? What you feel is 70% can be 30% after you have been grilled in an interview. TLDR: Allow your interviewer rate you. Just say I'm good with Javascript, How good you are is left for your employer to know. |
Semtu:LOL . . . If you cannot read to understand, then it's not my fault . . . If you like be into complex physics, electromagnetism and mechanics . . the fact still remains the same. Talking about working on complex algorithms, well, we'll discuss that another day. Cheers. |
Rough idea? How much are you paying? ![]() |
Semtu:LOL, and who told you so? whatever you can do with a framework or a library can be done with vanilla code, yes !Afterall, the framework and/or library itself was built upon vanilla codes; or did they just appear from heaven? e.g. react was built upon javascript. therefore, anything that can be done in react can be done with pure js. too it might take 1 hour in react and 1 week to accomplish the same thing in vanilla js, but the point is, it will still be accomplished no matter what. or did they integrate php and python into react to make it special? if u look under the hood, it's javascript. Frameworks only exist to make your iterate faster and prevent you from reinventing the wheel and repeating yourself over and over again If somebody else has done it, you can use the same piece of code, instead of starting afresh. Once again let me drum it into you, frameworks are an abstraction of vanilla codes, if u look under the hood, u will see them there staring back at you. And you can do 100% anything using either a framework or vanilla codes. |
Mrmourinho:That's what you feel. Good luck working on AWS or GCP or any other cloud platform using your mobile phone. Last time i checked, they were not even made for mobile-responsiveness. Also, you need to understand that some web apps will be desktop-only or desktop-first approach e.g. most invoicing software and ci/cd web apps e.g. Puppet, Ansible, even Github doesnt work well on mobile compared to desktop-mode. Good luck using Figma on your mobile phone or Adobe XD. So the issue of desktop or mobile first is more of your customer market. if you are targeting mostly non-technical people, then mobile-first. If you market is mainly for the tech-savvy, then desktop-first. |
WTF! Even gmail has bugs . . office365 . . . |
1saed:Looks very 'Nigerian" And you just had to confirm his suspicion . . .
|
pcguru1:True, not just "let", all ES6+ keywords/expressions will be transpiled , but at least to keep your sanity intact, you'd want to keep up with ECMA ![]() |
Where did you dig out the tutorial you're following? "var" in 2020? Besides, you didn't even paste the error message you're receiving . . and also do well, to send a screenshot of the entire code block invoking the functions |
Chingle6:A programmer and his doctor are soon parted. |
Chingle6:Drink coffee |
klentochka:True . . Unless you're tryna become a fullstack software engineer, then i'd advise against going too deep into css. Just learn the basics needed for good functionality, at least desktop-based. Making a web app, for example, look good on all devices is one hell of a job, but yes its very possible 100%. you just gotta devote time to it, and you'll see yourself becoming a front-end engineer in the long run during that task. So pick your poison.... back end or front end or both . . . |
chingle5: ![]() One thing I've noticed; most programmers here learnt and mastered most of the languages within 3 weeks to 3 months Amazing !!! |
chingle5:You're pretty much correct on these fronts except for the fact that Heroku isnt like Bluehost and Godaddy, .it is not a platform, it is a hosting "infrastructure" . . take note, big difference between platform and infrastructure,as the latter is one-level deeper . ., it has no cpanel, and is therefore barebones, means you have to work from scratch, command line. No user interface that allows drag and drop like cpanels . . . |
still available ?? where is your location ? Shuttuope: |
25k serious buyer heretuwayz: |
Metroxchange:I received a voice note to that effect and it is well understood. Matter of fact, one of my items, the only one for which I have a tracking number is already out for delivery and I would appreciate if you would send the tracking numbers for the others. It goes a long way. Cheers. |
tensazangetsu20:Just the same way you could build a MERN OR PERN app and get lucky and hit 10k subscribers with 3k MRR at 5 usd = 15k usd per month.....And also get unlucky designing a plugin nobody wants. These things happen. So much misinformation here. With regards to the jobs, a senior development role be it, php, python, c++ or javascript will command high remuneration that an entry-level role....... And yes there are thousands of job offers for these stacks, Two things are just happening 1.) You are not just looking at the right places. and, even if you were 2.) You are not just qualified enough, cos Cos the problem with these stacks, e.g. MERN, blah blah blah , is that they expose your deficiency pretty quickly. Unlike a plugin where it's just a one man's job and you could be average with it. Stack jobs often require a greater degree of expertise cos of the lots of moving things attached, eg. ci/cd, unit testing, data structures for the backend, performance[ Uncle Big 0], and scalability. Thus most roles you will see for these require a senior. Up your game, and you won't have to create threads like this. In fact, if someone gives you a wordpress job to execute, you'll fling it away. |
