SReporters:There are many reasons this would happen, but be rest assured that God still exists there even as He exists here. 1. In comfort, we tend to become complacent in faith. Look at the book of Proverbs 30 vs 8-9 (NIV). "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God" 2. Many already had the predisposition of falling out of faith before they left for those nations. Their relationship with God wasn't deep and wasn't predicated on the right reasons. For some, God is a means to an end, like an accessory just to get what they want in life. To them, their relationship with God is transactional. Nothing though is hidden under the sun. God knows it all, even that funky feeling in you which is waiting to explode when you get there. If you are in a friendship with Christ, you wouldn't let up so easily what you have. 3. So many are hedonists in disguise, many have no guiding philosophy about life. I have found out that so many just live to live, I mean, call them wherever you do, they will always show up. We barely hear about what the bible says concerning the party spirit - Galatians 5:21 (NLT): envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We barely hear about what the word of God says concerning jesting. Ephesians 5:4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 4. Pressure from the new society. There is definitely a cultural shift/shock. Look at the details in terms of human interaction. Many have started smoking because they found themselves amongst people they felt they should impress. Many now consume alcohol because they found themselves amongst social drinkers they wanted to impress. Perhaps in the company of their bosses or people they admire. Why change for the world instead of the world changing for you? What are the things you do in order to avoid getting exposed to sin? Yes, you can actually ambush the devil, rather than getting ambushed. Look, if you have strict standards, what stops you from maintaining them? You don't visit the opposite sex at home, why would you change that because you just landed in Canada? you don't do dinners and lunch with ladies, why start now? You don't club, why start now? You didn't attend Psquare's concert when you were in school, why the sudden crave for Rick Ross and lil Wayne now? 5. Finally, for any willing to get closer to God, here is what you need especially for those already in the fold of Christ (i.e if you are a believer). Never play with studying the scripture. I found out that the biggest metric for me to know when I am fumbling is; how consistent I am with reading the word of God and how fervent I am in my prayer life. Just one day off, I am already in a mess. It is the breath your spirit thrives on, everything that happens physically has a spiritual origin. This is literally the truth, be alert. |
GHoJes:Good evening GHoJes, I don't really know how to read messages sent via this platform? I haven't seen your mail in my mail box. |
Hannania:I used to be blatantly retributive but my experiences and seeing my own fallibility have made me much more compassionate. From my failure and God's mercy and salvation, I appreciate mercy and forgiveness. I'm sorry if those values don't resonate much with you or maybe, they don't resonate in cases like this with you. Blessings. |
jimmychang:I feel this is deflecting. Our emotion is just one of few things you can pick from my post but if you choose to lay the wreath just on that, so be it. You could have gleaned from my post that perception is affected by life experiences. Too. By the way, who says we don't all act based on emotions. At some level, in so many situations, we don't really extricate emotions from our decisions and actions. |
jimmychang:It doesn't have to be boring because you labelled it boring. You might label it boring to thrash my own take, it doesn't make it lose its value, it will have it's intrinsic value no matter how you thrash it. I only dropped my opinion, we ain't sparring bro. |
jimmychang:People are not robots, human beings have emotions including fear, fury, despair etc because of the experiences they have gone through in life. You don't even know the context of their relationship, you don't even know if this guy is the bread winner of this lady's immediate family and if she fears she might lose him. You don't even know how old she was before she got married (oh, this might have a huge effect on how she treats grave issues like this, some have hidden their children born out of wedlock from their spouses), you don't even know if she's afraid she might never get another husband, deep down in her heart, something snapped and she made a choice. Since we don't know a lot about life and people, we should thread with caution and handle things better. Read his story on another thread here and see him admitting he's got a good wife who was selfless enough to reconcile him with his own immediate family, she didn't sideline them in order to get all the love and perhaps care her husband could give. |
co787:I am a bit logical about life. Look, there is this term called 'teleology'. There is a teleological reason why things happen and people do what they do. I try the little I can to understand life from that stand point. He steals, why did he start stealing? She sells her body, why is she a prostitute? It helps me understand others when I put myself in their shoes. We don't all know the breadth and length of life, human beings are not robots, the reason why somethings happen might be much more removed from your remotest imaginations. Many people have unresolved deep pains and that goes a long way to determine how they act. Many people here will give you advice(s) based on how deeply hurt they are, they have been jilted by girlfriends and boyfriends, treated badly by others, that will affect how they respond. Some will call for very harsh punitive measures but you know what? The most powerful force in the world is agape love. Even, the stories people read on this platform and online affect how they think and respond. They see how infidelity, wickedness and evil is replete in most stories they come across online, subconsciously their brains are being encoded/wired in a certain way, how youthey choose your response then comes down to how stoic or pervasive you/their minds have become. Some are strong emotionally and will not be easily reconfigured by what they see. Think deep brother, what do you intend to achieve with your actions? How will this be of benefit to you and the society on the long run? You want a wife who's gonna give you the best of herself or that woman who will restrain herself (emotions, love, trust and body)from you and play it with caution? I mean, imagine that woman who would in the midst of some beautiful experience with you caution/remind herself about what/whom she's dealing with. Bro, you ain't dealing with an emotionless being here, you can pretend all you want and feel like she's below you, maybe you are even wealthier and do take care of her and her family, you cannot buy certain things or even force them out in life. Alright, I have said enough. |
co787:There are situations in life that require wisdom. The Bible says that wisdom is better than gold and rubies. I have also read your story about the horrible experience you had with your immediate family. Your wife has spent time with you and she knows how deeply hurt and damaged you are as a person. You must realize that betrayal from people closest to us do so much damage to our philosophy about life. You have had difficult life issues and these experiences can't be wished away like that. You didn't get counselling or at least some spiritual a d emotional healing that you needed. Did that woman not make any attempt to plead/apologize to you? All you could do was to look at those weary and teary eyes, pick your phone and call the police. MY ADVICE: you have said it here repeatedly in so many ways that your wife is a good woman. Proverbs 31 talks about a virtuous woman. In the office yesterday, I was having a conversation with a senior colleague, he told me to ensure that my happiness is not dependent on others and that the best I can do is to forgive. Putting that woman in prison has hurt her as much as your daughter and yourself have been hurt. The juvenile brother of her's messed up but don't forget, you said he's 14. That should be significant in this case. Your reaction was from a deep place of hurt. The woman you jailed will be damaged for this I assure you. I don't know how you will transition from the place of anger to the place of remorse and soberness. From fury to contriteness. Look your family is damaged by this singular action you probably mishandled. For her to trust you now will be so hard. Same of you, you can hardly trust her. The best is to rely on God now to mend this family that the devil chose to torment. Firstly, go and bail her now, not next week, call her mother and let others, even your closest family members wade into this. Pray hard and be humble before the Lord. To find a good woman is not so easy, trust me. God gave you one, stay with her. She probably didn't do what she did with mischief in mind. You admitted she suffered because of it and the best you could do was to be vengeful? Spiteful? That's horrible. She would imagine what she's been doing all these years with you. You can't even get that woman's emotions again. For now, it will take God to heal your family but I pray He does, start from a place of humility. Make the right moves and realize that the devil is aftwr something good in your life. Your wife and child are those good things, if you can make sacrifices to have them back, do so. God bless you and see you through. |
tinsel:Even ivy league schools can be bribed over there. You can deceive people who are uninformed but not me. People talk about this as if buying a certificate from that school is impossible. It's not a closed case when you present anything to us. This is an example of a famous person who bribed a school to admit her daughter. She was jailed when the bubble burst. Taaa! Una dey deceive who? https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/dec/28/lori-loughlin-college-bribery-scheme-prison-release |
lexylaw40:I used to read comments on topics about projects like this wherein people would come out to say, the previous administration started this and would sometimes ask myself, is this really true or someone hating on Buhari, but listen, I know this one too well, this project was not solely done by Buhari, it was under construction for a long time even when I was still in school way back 10 years ago. Does it take away his efforts? NO. Now I understand better. |
Blessedmercy8:Sorry a supposed "Christian brother" left you. Look, you ought to understand what it means to be a true Christian who wants to really walk with Christ. Firstly, are you truly a Christian? How much of the world have you left for Christ? How much does your dressing also show Christ? Do you also dress to attract men, no matter how tame your attempts are? I will tell you categorically that all men do not want slutty women. Human beings are naturally jealous, men included. That is why they can kill when their partners mess with them. Check "crime watch daily" on youtube. It is replete with stories of homicide, suicide and murder-suicide related to marriages and relationships. You can say men want and love good sex, that is understandable. You can even say men love and enjoy the female anatomy, that is true but be rest assured, some don't enjoy having their women scantly dressed. I don't even like women on ear rings let alone those poorly dressed. How much have you changed your dressing over time to look in vogue? Women seem to be more beautiful these days but actually, they are looking sexier than beautiful. These two are different. Tight clothes are a lot more common now and rarely do you see any young lady whose dressing doesn't show the full shape of her frontal region even if they are covered and without baring their cleavage. Why is this important? Make sure your lifestyle truly matches the Christlike life before you assume you are a true child of God. Finally, yes, many men are ignorant of what they want and how to go about it even if they seem so sure about it. Same goes for women. That is why marriages are crumbling. Wait till God gives you a true man of God (not necessarily a pastor). He might be using this time to teach you patience, value and so much more that you will need in your union. He might be putting you in check and teaching you submission and discipline. We tend to cherish what we struggled to get and achieve as humans, that might even be the key to a lasting marriage for you. |
abc115:Public information is available. (Anambra poverty level 2003-2004) National Bureau of Statistics https://nigerianstat.gov.ng › ...PDF NATIONAL POVERTY RATES FOR NIGERIA: 2003-04 (REVISED) ... (Anambra poverty level 2010) https://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng › ... Nigeria Poverty Profile 2010 Please let's be guided. Any politician can dish out figure, at least we can refer to available data to dispute their claims. Obviously, soludo is lying here. But then, let's wait for a so called ex-cbn governor to rule Anambra for the few years he will and see what he will come up with. Meanwhile, soludo must crash the poverty level by at least 20-30 points for me to even consider him worth listening to. He can start by giving me implementable ideas on how he plans to achieve this. No be to talk be the problem, this guy is indirectly telling Anambra people that he will loot the state coffers dry. Meanwhile, he has exposed his predecessor (obiano) by saying that the state is now I'm debt. At least we know that the state had some tangible amount of money when obiano took over the state. He is telling Anambra people that when he leaves, hei guys, I met this thing like this o, this indebtedness didn't start from me o. Guilt by association, we know that kinda psychological game. |
NEIGHBOUR:You and the efcc minion ( I can't use boss for a low life) have ridiculed Nigeria. Wanna know this dude is a lowlife? Go outside the shores of this country and see if he will have such lofty sense of ego as he does have here. |
Pickmycall:That is the beauty of the court. It doesn't care about your emotions. If you can't prove anybody is guilty, you can't detain him/her or keep their properties. Anybody can accuse anybody of anything nowadays. Any politician can label anybody today. You do realize that we practice an adversarial system of justice in this country? |
Africankel:When we talk about strong institutions, this is what we are saying. We have no strong institutions. Imagine the way the courts are disobeyed. Why wouldn't they? Who in their right sense will look at a fascist state like Nigeria and take it serious? That is why we can't have investors or nothing. The sleazebags in charge of this country have deplored it's values so much that we can't have nothing, I mean nothing going for it. Imagine a country where a criminal case against the police will have only the police investigating and giving Forensic evidence in court. Why wouldn't things be messed up? A lot of Nigerians are ignorant. The police keeps lobbying the legislators to maintain the status quo. Activist and political judges with little or no knowledge of the sanctity of the constitution, politicians and appointees having little or no value for the courts. |
BluntCrazeMan:Central Bank of Nigeria https://www.cbn.gov.ng › rsdPDF Addressing Housing Deficit in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and ... https://www.fao.org/nigeria/fao-in-nigeria/nigeria-at-a-glance/en/ Check the links above and stop spewing fallacies. We don't understand nor deal with figures in Nigeria. Let us admit it and start researching. Nigerians are farming too much with little output to show for it. Too much stress in the name of farming, perhaps that is the subsistent lifestyle Buhari keeps spouting that we should return to. The stone age era of farming. What percentage of the population of developed nations are into farming? Housing deficit is a huge problem in Nigeria. Statistically, we are doing worse than so many other nations. |
Felixamos:They have the right to do that. As much as I want obi to win this election, this insanity must be stopped. Even seun gave you the right to post what you want on this platform even if it's against his political or social opinions. Let's not pretend, with the way this country is, Obi can barely fix it unless we as a people begin to do things right. The only thing with supporting him is that we have to start somewhere. Look at that brute in rivers state, a horrendous human being who is a sore loser. What if atiku ends up winning this election? What if he starts misbehaving like wike? Don't you realize that politicians have too much power in this country? That is why we want smaller governments be it at the federal or state level. That is what conservatism is all about. A small er government and more control in people's hands. More control of your money instead of paying taxes to thieves who will end up doing nothing with it. The day they do it to supporters of obi, we all will shout. Condemn this foolishness and de-market it so politicians wouldn't continue on this line thinking we all accept it. |
mekmolly:Thanks, I have a publication and will follow up on your advice. |
I once boarded a vehicle from somewhere(can't remember now) to ph, three guys were seated at the back, the most demonic conversation I have ever listened to in my life were from those guys. They couldn't even keep their secrets hidden in the public. They were coming from a spiritualist who gave them instructions on what to do so their "yahoo business can click". One described how he once had his hand up his girlfriends anus when she pooed on herself and had blood exuding from Buhari knows where. Men! Those tales where gut wrenching. They even talked about how some spiritualists had failed them and the little expeditions they had with one. Many people in the vehicle where so gutted listening to those boys and the worst part of it is that they cared less about anyone feeling disgusted. This lasted for about 3-4 hours while on transit. Abeg, girls, no be everything be money. When fuel stations start tampering with their meter, they usually think they are smart but on the long run when their customers figure out that something is wrong and there are other alternatives, that business is dead. Think about your future, money from prostitution doesn't profit you on the long run. How many people around you have made it with prostitution? |
[quote author=Blessedmercy8 post=117999274]truth doesn't set those appointed to perdition free as much as they wallow in sin. I'll give you an example; from research, though sex education has increased astronomically, STI's have increased as well. From research, this increase has been shown to be statistically inconsistent with increased testing for STI's. What this shows: Some choose to be lower animals, some choose to be higher animals. They only respond to that stimulus that triggers their sex receptors in a certain way that leaves them vulnerable. The critical thinking mass of the world populace has cratered so much, we now have human beings walking the earth like sheep being led to the slaughter. People can't think anymore, others think for them. You can imagine the number of people dismissing your post here, so many are blind or at best shortsighted. Look at the average young lady in the street, she is about to, or has already begun selling her body. I always ask, what distinguishes you from the average Joe in the street? Must you be a prostitute because your friend is prostituting herself and making money to buy clothes, shoes, eye lashes and nails? Same for the guys. Oh! Don't worry, those guys might actually be paying them (the subjects of your post) no matter how little. Girls can be that cheap now (people are cheap now, not gender restricted). They (guys) do so at the expense of their own health and wellbeing. You can visit a common brothel, you will see people looking so haggard patronizing the girls there. They might not even be sure of what to eat tomorrow yet they want to satisfy "that turgid phallus". That is why a sinner requires divine intervention, because he/she is spiritually blind and physically weak. Again, what percentage of prostitutes in Nigeria make something reasonable out of that dirty profession? That question should touch anyone in it or who intends to go into it. Finally, how vulnerable are you as a person? How many times have you done something superficial because you've seen others doing it or because it trends? Let's contextualize it, in the past few years, how has your dressing sense changed especially as a lady? Are your collars going lower? Are your cloths becoming more transparent? Considering these questions will help you see how resolute you are. That is the bedrock of moral decadence. |
Hi! I am a newbie both on this forum and the Aussie immigration application process. Been looking up a few schools there, which are the easiest to get in and how best can I attract a supervisor? I have a BsC in Biochemistry and an MsC in toxicology. |
