PhonesRe: Don’t Buy Cheap Android Phones From Popular Brands, here’s Why by claycares:
adeyemik:
Rottweiler and Bingo are dogs. One is a high end priced breed and the other one is low end priced dog. Infact, you can pick a bingo right on the street and take it home for free.

The creation model of the two dog are the same but there are distinctive attributes that differentiates the two dogs.

OP, you can pump up a bingo, give it all the dietary supplements and high rich proteineous food, it will still be priced low at the market because it is Bingo. Whereas, a Rottweiler that has been on 7 days dry fast would be priced high than the bingo.

Op, you've failed to tell your audience why low end Chinese phone have not been allowed into European and American market except for Huawei? The reason is simple - Quality! Quality!! Quality!!! and the attending health hazards.

It is wrong to use only those thing you can see or told - (phone specs) to compare phone, there are other things that are not obvious to you, that's what the known brands are selling, and why a low specs known brand would be more expensive than a high specs Chinese brand.

OP, a brand new 2015 Chinese brilliance car with a the features of a Toyota Camry 2014, will always be priced lower than a tokunho 2010 Toyota Corolla. The difference is QUALITY.
You're very correct, I will never buy a no name electronics like Tecno, Infinix, etc they make me look cheap, bad built quality, no security update, and many other issues. Imagine all Tecno and Infinix phones, all models failed the stsgefreight malware exploit, even the companies including Trcno, Infinix and others dont even know about this or they just decided not to make any comments on that. Ignorance is really a epidemic disease that has become endemic. The man in the middle malware has been there for over a year now affecting almost all Tecno and Infinix phones yet no fix. But they spend millions of naira everyday paying social media hype people like the OP to condemn brands that have spent over $100s of billions on mobile tech research because they want to sell cheap, insecure, poorly built devices to ignorant people. Phones they cannot sell in countries where lives have value and the regulators are wirking to protect their people. If it is not panadol e no fit bi like panadol.

EducationRe: See Snake That Was Killed This Afternoon At The Front Of AAUA SENATE BUILDING by claycares: 4:17pm On Sep 01, 2015
VeeBabs:
This is a Gaboon Viper, the heaviest member of the viperids, and also the snake with the longest fangs (2 inches long) and the highest venom yield in the world. That is, this snake delivers the highest volume of venom per bite of any snake in the world.

The snake is easy to recognise by the two small horns near its snout and by its unique markings/patterns (white dashed lines running along its back, similar to highway/street road lines) and unusually swollen "cheeks" on both sides of its head. Those "cheeks" are actually the extra-large salivary glands that produce the high amounts of venom the gaboon viper is known for. Really a mouthful.

A short but very heavy (dense) snake with a bad temper, you don't need to upset this snake before it strikes you. It attacks you with little provocation once you step within striking range. I've seen one before. Pure evil.

As for the severed head in the photos the OP originally posted above, I think I know exactly why they cut it off. Some people use freshly killed snake head AND tail for certain charms. Seriously. Ask around and you'll know. It appears to me from the photos that the snake is also missing a tiny bit of its tail, although it's not bleeding much.

So the next time you see someone rushing to decapitate a snake and also cut off its tail, you know what they PROBABLY have in mind.
It is either you work with Nat Geo Wild, Animal Planet or other TV similar TV channels or those channels are your favourites smiley

Nairaland GeneralMan Re-arraigned For Defiling 9year-old In Court Premises Not A Lawyer - Picture by claycares(op): 11:16am On Sep 01, 2015
I just want to bring this piece of information to the general public that the man accused of defiling a 9 year old girl in court premises is not a lawyer as recently published by the news media. There are lots of people out there trying to bring the reputation of the legal profession in Nigeria to disrepute. We must all join hands to curb this practice. Please see attached pictures.

I found the original story here.

Technology MarketRe: How Do I Apply For Patent Right? by claycares: 1:22pm On Aug 29, 2015
Most Nigerians don't think like this nor see the need to patent inventions.

You need to draft a claim showing the process how the electrical equipment work. The claim must strictly cover all the process involved to give you complete right over that process. I'd advise you use a professional who's to sign a confidentiality agreement with you. Then apply for the patent to be registered at the patent office. I've done a couple of patent applications here in Nigeria and USPO.

You take off contracts from Nigerian companies employing Nigerians and expanding the economy and give it to an international oil company. What a dumb idea of a puppet government being controlled by the western world.

This offer looks good if genuine but find out what bonds it is indexed to and see the terms of the bonds, like the coupon rate, the YTM, the rating etc. An indexed security is like a derivative, it takes its payout, cash flow etc from the underlining
By way of contributing to this informative thread, let me add few info I have here.

The mail stated that it is indexing the recent Fidelity Bond issue which has 8 May 2015 as effective date due 2022. The coupon rate of the Fidelity Bank Bonds issue is 16.48 if I can remember vividly well, because we advised one of the parties in the transaction. Over to the investment bankers to calculate the YTM. I will confirm the rating and update.

Does it make investment/commercial sense to invest your entire savings on mutual funds?

In fact Esso/ExxonMobil is the most corrupt IOC in Nigeria. They don't give out contract without collecting bribe. I'm watching in 3D.

Nairaland GeneralUS Lifts Restrictions On Arms Supplies To Nigeria To Help Fight Boko Haram by claycares(op): 5:31pm On Aug 04, 2015
WASHINGTON has finally agreed to lift its restrictions on arms sales to Nigeria under the Leahy Law to enable the government purchase weapons with which to conduct the war against Boko Haram terrorists.

Last year, the US refused to sell arms to Nigeria under its Leahy Law, claiming that the Nigerian Army was involved in human rights abuses and the killing of civilians. It was also believed that the US was unhappy with the way Boko Haram had infiltrated the Nigerian security forces and had access to their intelligence.

Following the election of President Muhammadu Buhari, however, the US appears to be keener to assist Nigeria and earlier this month, he was invited to the White House for talks with President Barack Obama. It is believed that President Obama immediately agreed to sell Nigeria Apache attack helicopters to be used in confronting Boko Haram.

Seen as a disciplinarian with a military background, President Buhari is regarded as a man who will confront Boko Haram and not tolerate human rights abuses by the army. Yesterday, a delegation of US congressmen led by Representative Darrel Issah, visited President Buhari in Abuja where it was revealed that the restrictions will be lifted.

Congressman Issah added that the lifting of restrictions was a fallout of the policy of the new military command with regards to the ongoing military operations in the country. America's Leahy Law is a human rights provision that prohibits its Department of State and Department of Defence from providing military assistance to foreign military units that allegedly violate human rights.

After a closed-door meeting with service chiefs and ministry of defence officials in Abuja, Congressman Issah, said discussions centred on a wide range of issues, especially the area of technical support in fighting the Boko Haram terror group. He added that after the meeting, it was agreed that the US will come to Nigeria's assistance.

“There were a number of things that were discussed at the meeting but basically the need for additional technical support including overhead surveillance. This was discussed because it is important in the fight against Boko Haram.

“This is because of the trust in the new regime which has begun the process of ensuring that the military’s professionalism in the battle field is made in a way that we all can be confident that the rule of law is followed. Following this development, we have began the process of lifting restriction under the Leahy Law but the vast majority of the support US provides will be given regardless of the restrictions," Congressman Issah added.

He pointed out that US support will also include training, technical support and equipment supply. In addition, Congressman Issah said the US through its agencies in Nigeria would help to rebuild and rehabilitate communities and victims of insurgency in the northeast.
