ABEOKUTA—A strong indication has emerged that, a mass exodus of members and stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State is currently looming. This is coming as a former chairman of the House of Representatives’ Committee on Aviation, Hon. Dave Salako has warned the national leadership of the PDP to either sanction the Chairman of its Mobilization and Organization Committee for the South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu or risk losing the 2015 elections in Ogun State. Salako accused Kashamu of being allegedly responsible for the perennial crises rocking the PDP in Ogun State. Vanguard reliably gathered that, this development, has prompted leaders of three of the major groups within the PDP in the state along their followers to begin defection into the newly introduced Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the state. It was gathered that the recent loss of the three groups in the last congresses and recent primaries of the PDP in Ogun State prompted their action. A former speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and eight other aspirants had boycotted the party’s governorship primary election which produced Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka. On Monday, leaders of the Dimeji Bankole, Gbenga Daniel and Jubril Martins-Kuye groups reportedly met in Abeokuta, the state capital where they put finishing touches to their planned mass defection to the SDP. It was also reliably gathered that, on Monday night, former governor, Gbenga Daniel held a secret meeting with the leader of the SDP in the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba in his Abeokuta residence. A source told our correspondent that, apart from Daniel, other PDP leaders present at the meeting include a governorship aspirant of the party, Chief Anthony Ojesina; a former chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Joju Fadairo, Chief Niyi Adegbenro, among others. Vanguard further gathered that the general mood and consensus of the leaders at the meeting favoured the mass defection of the aggrieved members of the PDP into the SDP. When contacted, a leader of the Jubril Martins-Kuye group, Hon. Dave Salako declined to comment on the issue. But, he, however, stated that Kashamu had so far instituted over 40 cases in court against the leaders of the party at both the state and the national level, including the one he filed against the PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu. He wondered why the PDP National Working Committee had been treating Kashamu whom he alleged had become fond of deliberately flouting all the directives of the party’s national leadership as a sacred cow. In his reaction, Kashamu said that Salako’s outbursts should be ignored. He added that Salako was still smarting from his inability to realize his governorship ambition and profit from the party which he and members of his group abandoned since 2011. Kasahamu in a statement by his Media Assistant, Austin Oniyokor said: “No careful observer of Ogun politics would be surprised at Dave Salako’s outburst. He is rueing the devastating crash of his deputy governorship ambition and looking for whom to blame for his failed ambition. If there is anyone that should be sanctioned for working against the interest of the party, it should be Salako who, alongside his masters, abandoned the party since he lost his re-election bid in 2011 and now want to reap where he did not sow.” Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/ogun-pdp-crisis-daniel-kuye-dimeji-set-defect-sdp/ |
Double Wahala crooner, Oritsefemi, revealed to Vanguard during the year that he had a rough beginning. But his rough beginning did not stop him from impregnating two childhood lovers who had a daughter each for him. Until his interview with Vanguard no one really knew it wasn’t his present fiancee that had the daughters for him. Oritse explained extensively how the daughters came about and why he left their mothers at the time, “My two daughters are from different mothers and I am not marrying any of them. It’s a long story. Back in the days, as a street boy, growing up in the ghetto city of Ajegunle, I had some childhood girlfriends who got pregnant. “Then, I had no means of livelihood to sustain them. But I ensured that I took care of my kids right from when they were born. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take care of their mothers because of my financial status then. But now, that God has elevated me, I am planning to take my children abroad” he said. Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/dumped-mothers-two-daughters-oritsefemi/ |

Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ekiti State has urged Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) and support the President Goodluck Jonathan-led PDP Federal Government, saying; "Nigerians should be reminded that it was General Mohammed Buhari and his military junta that truncated democracy in Nigeria and disrupted the country's development 20 years ago." Adeyeye, who said Nigeria, especially democratic governance would have developed beyond how it is now if Buhari had not toppled the Alhaji Shehu Shagari-led government, declared that; "God won't allow these retrogressive elements in the APC to destroy Nigeria the way they did on December 31, 1983." He said; "it is on record that the Alhaji Shehu Shagari's government started the Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mill and was almost completing it before Buhari led others to overthrow the government. The dream of Ajaokuta was killed by that military coup led by Buhari, and all efforts to revive it by the Jonathan-led government have been impeded by unresolved court actions. "In Lagos State, the Alhaji Lateef Jakande's government had commenced the Metroline Transportation System, but what did the Buhari-led military government do? It truncated the project and went on to pay $78 million compensation to the contractor at the expense of Lagos tax payers. "Before the 1983 military coup, the Jakande's Lagos State Government only needed the Federal Government to guarantee a N100 million loan and the Shagari-led government was ready to do it, but Buhari, in his shallow mindedness cancelled the laudable project and paid $78 million compensation to the contractor. "If Jakande was going to give Lagosians Metro Line in 1983, and he (Jakande) could build Lagos State Secretariat; Alausa, build several low cost houses, constructed several roads, including the Lekki-Epe expresway, established Lagos State University, Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos State Television, built the permanent site of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, among several other landmark achievements, shouldn't we begin to ask ourselves what would have happened to Lagos State in terms of development if Jakande had ruled the State for eight years? "Now we have a Dr Goodluck Jonathan-led federal government that has demonstrated strong commitment to the return of the country lost glories, these same elements, who put us where we are today are telling us that because President Jonathan is from a minority Ijaw tribe, he must not be allowed to have a second term that is allowed by the Constitution if he desires. "I have looked at their arguments and I can say it pointedly that their main reason for opposing President Jonathan is not lack of developmental strides, but because a minority Ijaw man, from whose land the crude oil that sustains Nigeria as a nation comes from, does not have the rights to rule the country. "For this selfish reason, Buhari is now comfortable in the company of someone like Baba Bisi Akande that he (Buhari) jailed in 1984 for corruption, and I ask; in the eyes of Buhari, is Baba Akande no longer corrupt? "It has therefore become necessary for Nigerians to be mindful of these elements in the APC, bearing in mind that it was exactly 20 years ago that their northern leader, Buhari destroyed democratic governance in Nigeria and truncated the developments that were going on then. We must not allow them to draw us back now for their own selfish gains, and I am sure God won't let them." He goes up north and talks strongly of his islamic beliefs and how he intend to strengthen and protect islam, but down south he goes and say "hey common, every religion has d right to practice, he tries by all means to soft pedal as regards religion. Christians don't be deceived ooooo..........if he likes he shld pick a general overseer of a church he can't win. If Lamido his own broda can acuse him of dis serious allegations den who I'm I?
