Popular Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji has bought a brand new Mercedes Benz GLE SUV for her sister Sandra Ikeji.

The news of the big purchase was broken by her other sister Laura Ikeji, who is known to always be the first person in the family to reveal any latest gist in the family.

According to Laura, who broke the news via her Instagram page, the SUV is worth a whopping N30million and she looked so excited to show it off to her followers.

Sandra Ikeji although has not made any statement about the gift from her billionaire sister. But a look into her social media profile discloses that she is an Events/Weddings/Destinations/ Planning/Cordination  planner.

This is surely a big one for the family as it will be recalled that just a week ago, Laura Ikeji bought for herself a brand new Mercedes Benz SUV on her birthday. The jeep which is said to be worth N20million, came as a reward for the hard work she has put into her business, she said.

It didn’t take so long that a particular OAP, Miss Vimbai came on the internet to blast celebrities that show off their rich lifestyle online. According to her, most of these celebrities who claim to be successful and offer advises on how to be rich, are not even rich, they only fake it.

She then went further to say anyone that is not making up to N20million annually should not come out to offer get-rich tips to their followers.

A 16-year-old girl whose romantic advances was turned down by 17-year-old Mahmudul Hasan Maruf, reportedly threw acid in the boy’s face in an incident which occurred in Dhaka, Bangladesh.


It was gathered that before dousing the boy with acid, the 16-year-old girl had been chasing after Mahamdul for a number of months despite his rejections. Local media reports the boy was on his way home from a night out with friends, when he was confronted by the girl. However her last confrontation, left the boy with horrific facial injuries as a result of the attack.


The girl and her mother have now both been arrested by police in Bangladesh. Mahmadul’s mother joined him in hopsital, where he revealed the horrendous damage caused by the acid attack. He suffered most of the burns to his face, but also had injuries to his shoulder. Doctors say it is likely the boy will be scarred for life, after entire layers of skin fell off his face.

Bangladesh has witnessed a high number of acid attacks since the 1990s, with more than 500 attacks recorded annually in the early 2000’s. The motivations vary but most are very simple: a man’s reputation has been damaged. Maybe his sexual advances were rejected. Maybe he was cheated on or a woman’s love proposal was rejected.

The Acid Survivors Foundation, a charity established in 1999 to help victims in Bangladesh, has helped to reduce the number of attacks there. Survivors have been left severely disfigured and with horrific physical injuries. Not only does their skin burn, but often they are severely disfigured. Acid causes the skin tissue to melt, it attacks the eyes, it dissolves the bones. In certain cases, ears and noses are lost completely.

Since 1999, there has been an astonishing 3240 incidents, peaking in 2002 when 494 women were attacked with acid.

The Edo State government has handed over 70 years old Francis Ezomo, and his two sons; Nosa Ezomo, 26 years old and Festus Ezomo, 29 years old, to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl, who is a relative of Mr Francis Ezomo’s wife.

The issue came to the limelight when the headmistress of the minor's school noticed a change of behaviour in the minor and decided to ask her what the problem was.

The girl narrated her ordeal to the headmistress who then informed the Education Secretary of the local government council where the alleged crime took place.

Her mother was said to have died while on a journey to Europe, which made her to live with the suspects as a househelp.

It was gathered that it was Mr. Francis that first had carnal knowledge of the minor before his sons took turns on her. When the victim was questioned, she said old baba had sex with her five times.

Pope Francis says the use of the religious symbol `the Crucifix’ (cross) as a fashion statement was abuse of the religious object .

In a speech at St Peter’s Square in the Vatican, Pope Francis said that the religious symbol should be “contemplated and understood”, and “not be abused”. .

Highlighting the religious meaning of the cross, he said: “The crucifix is not an ornamental object or a clothing accessory which is sometimes abused, but a religious sign to be contemplated and understood. .

NARROW ESCAPE ALONG PORT HARCOURT AIRPORT ROAD AS COWS OF FULANI HERDSMEN RAN INTO AND DESTROYED A TOYOTA CAMRY WITH TWO PASSENGERS.

The Rivers State Government and House Of Assembly should as a matter of urgency propose and pass into law the Anti Open Grazing bill to save our Daughters and Sons from the carelessness of these Fulani Cattle rearers on our roads.

On my way back from Etche along the Port Harcourt airport road that leads to obiri Ikwerre, I saw two cows lying lifeless on the road and also a damaged toyota camry car on same road and this caused serious traffic.

I alighted from the car, got very close to the accident scene,only to discover that a Facebook friend of mine Miss Nengi was the passenger in the damaged Toyota camry car, enquiries as explained by the driver of the camry Mr George, showed that while he was on speed two cows ran out of the Bush towards their direction, he lost control of the car and that's all you could remember.

In all of this, there was no trace of the Fulani Cattle Rearers. They fled deep into the Bush with their remaining cows.

Passersby who came to render help all spoke in unison about the daily occurrence of Fulani cows always running into cars, they said the last experience on that same road was a sad one because two human lives was lost and also pleaded to the Rivers State Government to do something about it.

A farmer at the scene who is also a pastor in OPM CHURCH lamented bitterly on how the produce from his farms have been destroyed by the Fulani Cattle Rearers and their cows.

The Rivers State Government should act now because our brothers and sisters in the rural areas suffer so much in the hands of these wicked and heartless Fulani Cattle Rearers that think about themselves and their cows alone.

Today it is Nengi, it can be any Government official on that road tomorrow.

The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has discovered two warehouses where 5,650kgs of cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) were stored. .

It said a 64-year-old grandfather, Daniel Idemudia, was arrested in connection with one of the warehouses. .

The first warehouse is a residential house located behind a tipper garage in Egor LGA, while the second warehouse is located at Ugwella-Gidi village in Ovia South West LGA.

The suspect, Idemudia, who admitted knowledge of the 280 bags of cannabis found inside the ceiling of his house, said that a friend kept the banned substance in his house.

“A friend of mine kept the cannabis inside the ceiling of my house. The house was built by my son who resides in Europe. He promised to handsomely reward me after selling the drugs,” he said

Professor Itse Sagay who is Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), says Nigeria will go up in flames if he discloses how much Senate President Bukola Saraki and House of Reps Speaker Yakubu Dogara earn.



The issue of the jumbo pay of lawmakers and top government officials returned to the front-pages after Senator Shehu Sani disclosed that a senator is entitled to N13.5million as running cost monthly and N200million for constituency projects–aside their basic salary.

Last year, Sagay tendered outrageous lawmakers’ salaries and allowances of his own. He said senators take home N29million monthly.

His disclosure put him firmly on a warpath with the leadership of the senate who called Sagay “a sadist, rascal, jaded, outdated and senile professor”.

‘Blow up the country’

In a chat with Punch, Sagay said the outrage over what senators earn will be child’s play if he discloses what presiding officers of the national assembly take home.

“There are many things the press doesn’t know yet. If you come to know the allowances that the leadership of the two houses are getting… My God! It will blow up the country. What is the Senate President getting? It is not the ordinary N13million”, Sagay was quoted as saying.

He added that; “What does he get as Senate President? What is the leader of the House getting, what is the deputy leader of the House getting? What is the Deputy Senate President getting?”

Sagay also promised to reveal all like he’s always done.

“What are the minority leaders getting in both houses? Go and find out. It is an explosive stuff, I tell you. Eventually, I will come out with the figures. I am working on them now. When I am ready, I will come out with them.”


Hiding

Sagay also said what Sani disclosed is only a fraction of what lawmakers take home. He accused the lawmakers of concealing their real allowances.

“What they released then was their salaries which the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission approved for them. What they are hiding now are the allowances they voted for themselves.

“The salary details released was just about N700,000 but what they voted for themselves is about 20 times that amount. That is the whole point and they were hiding it.

“I came out with the figures last year and they wanted to cut off my neck and now it has come out in the open and Sabi Abdullahi is saying it is nothing new but you were denying it in the past. So, they have a guilty conscience because they know what they are doing is shameful.”

Governors

Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, also said if he reveals what State Governors earn, most Nigerians will lose sleep for weeks.

The salaries and emoluments of politically exposed persons is often a hot potato topic in a country where the minimum wage stands at a miserly N18,000.

80 percent of Nigerians survive below the poverty line; with most of the country’s oil wealth getting looted by the leadership elite through the years.

The senate says the recent revelation by one of its own is nothing new.

A woman has got herself trending online after sharing her story online to celebrate her 14 years of freedom. The US based woman identified as Tonier Cain-Muldrow revealed how she prayed to turn a new leaf while being incarcerated in prison. She revealed how she was arrested 83 times, had 66 convictions, not forgetting 19 years of drug addiction, prostitution among other vices.

She shared her story with pictures as proof which has now gone viral on Facebook. Read below;

Chukwuneta Anyabolu, a Brazil-based Nigerian ex-footballer, is dead.
According to reports, Anyabola aka Changa or Chassis, was duped of goods worth several millions of dollars, by his associates identified as Daniel and Ezenwa (both pictured), from Nnewi.

The goods were supplied to Anyabolu by other business partners. When the ex-footballer failed to remit profits made from the transactions, his business partner started threatening to arrest him if by March 16th he fails to pay back their money or return goods supplied top him.

Disturbed by the threats, Anyabolu was forced to start searching the whole of Brazil for the criminal duo of Daniel and Ezenwa. After some weeks, he got information that one of them, Ezenwa, was sighted in a building in the city centre.

The deceased then invited the police who joined him to apprehend him. Ezenwa, was arrested in one of the top floors of the building. But while being taken to the police vehicle, he escaped and jumped through the window of the third floor. .

A shocked Anyabolu and the policeman, in hot pursuit, jumped after the escaping Ezenwa. However, the ex-footballer and the policeman were unlucky, as they landed badly on the concrete floor. The cop landed on his feet, breaking his sheen, while Anyabolu, who was in his fifties, landed with his head and died instantly.

A former lawmaker, Senator Olurunnimbe Mamora, has reportedly turned down an appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The President appointed Mamora as the Chairman of the Abuja Investment and Infrastructure Centre (AIIC) but the ex-legislator was said to have rejected the offer.

Mamora was the Deputy Director-General of the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation during the 2015 presidential election.

According to Punch, a governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the 2016 Ondo State governorship election, Mrs. Jumoke Ajasin-Anifowoshe, has been named the AIIC chairman following Mamora’s rejection of the position.

Ajasin-Anifowose, who is the daughter of the first Governor of the old Ondo State, Adekunle Ajasin, was sworn in by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Muhammad Bello.

The paper cited a reliable source who said Mamora met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and expressed his displeasure with the appointment to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

He was said to have argued that the appointment was not befitting, adding that the people who never participated in the process that brought Buhari to power were occupying the front seats of government.

The source also said that Mamora was listed to be the Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority in 2016 but was edged out by some powerful people in the system.

The ex-lawmaker, according to the source, was also nominated as an ambassador in late 2016 but his name was suddenly dropped for unknown reasons and was not contacted before his name was removed.

Pulse could not immediately get Mamora’s reaction to the story.

Mamora is a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and senator who represented Lagos-East senatorial district from 2003 to 2011.

A Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, yesterday, drowned inside a swimming pool during a birthday celebration.

The sad incident occurred at Cosmila Hotel. It was gathered that the deceased, identified as Ezekwe Jideofor John, who was celebrating the birthday of his course mate, had 250 in the UTME he wrote, last Friday.

A Romanian court has upheld a death notice against a man despite him being alive and present in the court at the time. .

The decision by judges in the eastern Romanian town of Barlad left Constantin Reliu, 63, legally dead despite him showing all the vital signs of life.

“My name is Constantin Reliu. I am dead but I’m still alive,” he said as he left the court. “I have no source of income, and because of the fact that I am dead I cannot hire a lawyer. In fact I can’t do anything in this country.” .

Reliu left Romania in 1992 to work in Turkey, where he settled down. His wife, having heard nothing from him for years, applied successfully for a death notice in 2016. .

Her husband first became aware of his death when he tried to return to Romania in January, after the Turkish authorities expelled him because his papers had expired. .

“The head of the border police at the airport called me to his office, turned on his computer and showed it to me. ‘Look,’ he said. ‘Constantin Reliu declared dead by his wife’,” Reliu told Digi24, a Romanian news network. .

He appealed to the Barlad court to overturn his death notice. “The length of time that the defendant had not contacted his family, but also the fact that he last entered from Turkey was on July 8 1999 made credible the claim by the spouse of Constantin Reliu that he had died in unknown circumstances,” the court said as it dismissed his appeal

Donald Trump has sacked Rex Tillerson as his secretary of state on Tuesday, following months of speculation that he would be ousted from the post.

This is coming after President Buhari on Monday received the US Secretary of State in Aso Rock.

Buhari had after his meeting with Tillerson said the Federal Government preferred the option of negotiation to rescue the abducted students.

The US president, however, announced Rex Tillerson’s dismissal in a tweet five minutes ago.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has disclosed that the president is not completely aware of everything going on in the country because he’s not “omniscient”.

The president’s spokesperson was reacting to the public outrage that has trailed the president’s public admission that he was ignorant of the fact that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had not carried out his order to relocate to Benue State to stem the spate of violent attacks carried out by cattle herders.

In a report by Premium Times, Adesina responded to the public reaction that had trailed the admission while appearing on a RayPower FM public affairs programme, Political Platform, on Tuesday, March 13, 2018.

Adesina said the president did not know about the absence of the IGP in Benue because he doesn’t get every information.


He said, “It just tells you that the president is not omniscient. As president and commander-in-chief, he has other channels, but it doesn’t mean that he gets every information under the sun.”

He also noted that it was incorrect to assume the president is expected to know every development on the security of the nation, saying, “Even in the best countries in the world, the super powers, there still would be security breaches and failures.”
