Tobi has a chance. He knows damage control a lot and that would help him.

And also Miracle. He is just springing up on us all of a sudden. He was quiet the first week and after the Head of House, we started seeing a miracle that we like. Now he is contending with Tobi.



Who Ahneeka wants to win Big Brother Naija

But who I would want to win is Rico. I don’t his mind, but from what we discussed, what he wants to use the money for is very selfless and inspiring.

I would rather that money goes to autistic kids and other disorder that people don’t really know about.


Angel

Well, my answer to both questions remains the same: Rico Swavey. In as much as Rico plays it safe sometimes and seems to be a bit of a people pleaser, Rico is a genuine true spirit. The boy has a heart of gold.

Some things that would piss even me, who has a thick skin off, Rico will just be like “you know, you know…That time for J Town.”

I believe Rico will win and I would love Rico to win.

The Sri Lankan government has banned the use of social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, in order to quell violence throughout the country.

A 10-day nationwide state of emergency was declared in Sri Lanka on Tuesday amid increased violence between Muslim and Buddhist communities.

Sri Lanka’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, which had reportedly been monitoring social media for hate speech related to the violence, has temporarily blocked Facebook, Viber, WhatsApp, and Instagram in most parts of the country.

On Wednesday, Cabinet Spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said the government had asked internet service providers to block messaging apps after it was Facebook posts encouraging violence towards the country's Muslim population were discovered.

Mano Ganesan, Minister of National Coexistence Dialogue and Official Languages, also confirmed the government's social media ban on Twitter, saying the country had decided to curb "all communal hate speech posts via social media."

Senaratne said in a press conference Wednesday that officials have been investigating who is fueling calls for riots and that several parliamentary officials had been mentioned.

After a state of emergency was declared on Tuesday, curfews were instated in the central district of Kandy, a popular tourist destination that was the epicenter of Sunday clashes between the Buddhist Sinhalese majority and local Muslims, who make up about nine percent of Sri Lanka's population.

Travel advisories were issued by the US, UK and Australia.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has called on religious leaders across the spectrum to promote peace among their communities.

American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor, Usher Raymond and his wife, Grace Miguel, have split after two years of marriage.
Us Weekly reports that the 36-year-old singer and Miguel, 48, made the disclosure in a joint statement to the publication on Tuesday, March 6.


“After much thought and consideration, we have mutually decided to separate as a couple.

“We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that the pair has been separated for some months now.

The Federal Government has announced its scholarship award for students in tertiary institutions.
According to Scholarship Board, application forms are available online at www.education.gov.ng and can be completed and printed by prospective candidates for endorsement by their head of departments and registrars of their institutions.

All applicants are expected to be full-time students who are in their second year either in a Federal government-owned university or state government-controlled university.

Here are the eligibility requirements for university, mono/polytechnic and college of education undergraduates, as well as post-graduate students.

1. University Undergraduate

All applicants must be full-time students in their second year of study and above in federal or state universities, they must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 on a 5.0 point scale or its equivalent in the previous academic year’s examinations.

2. Higher National Diploma (HND)

All applicants must be full-time students in their second year of study in any of the federal or state polytechnics or monotechnics. They must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 4 scale or its equivalent in the previous academic year’s examinations.

Seriously, I mentioned to you, if you check the history of the global religious involvement in politics, usually, religion fair very well when they run as traditional and cultural course than when they become part of politics, because politics is a very sensitive area.

Now, if you check the 30 years war of Europe, the war consumed more than 40 million lives, it’s all about religion.

If you check the King Henry Revolution, it was all about religion. Killings and killings.

If you see again what is happening in the Middle East, it is religious motivated war.

So, once you integrate religion in your policy, you are indirectly amplifying a frontline and creating a process for a direct confrontation that will create an endless circle that will consume everybody in the nation. The best thing is to separate this institution from governance.

So does removing churches and mosque solve this problem?

I think the symbolic representation of an intention of the president is to show you that I don’t come to Aso Rock to pray but I come to Aso Rock to work.

My job is for all Nigerian people and I don’t believe Nigeria has only Muslims and Christians, I believe there are other several religions that have right into the nation and they are also principal stakeholders of the Nigerian project.

As a democratic leader, your job is to protect the interest of the minority regardless of what they believe and to me, I believe that if I truly want to be the real democratic leader, if I am not bringing all religion into Aso Rock, no religion should exist them.

If even any media agency snapped me praying in a mosque because I’m a Muslim, I will sue the person for libel because I am not in Aso Rock to pray, I am there to work and so what I want you to see me as first and foremost is the Nigerian president, not a Christian, not a Muslim, nor a southern and northern, the eastern, the western, the up or down president, but the Nigerian president.

And if I want to do that, I should symbolize it and part of the symbol is, taking out this to houses and making it a free place where everyone can come.

If you become the president, what will be your priority?

My first day in office, I will restrategize the whole of things, but I am going to work immediately on the identity of Nigerian crisis.

We will have to identify the brand Nigeria. Everyone will have to buy the product called Nigeria. That will be my first assignment and I promise to do a press conference every week so that people can understand God has placed us in a very important place and we are all going to benefit.

The second thing is to initiate a policy that will liberate over 160 to 180 million people from poverty and my target is by the end of my administration if I am opportune to stay for eight years, we will have over 160 million people living above 10 dollar per day with the policies if they are properly implemented.

With this, I believe Nigeria will have a journey away from poverty

So four years is not even enough to achieve this?

Yes, four years will set you on a path to doing that. First and foremost, we need to define ourselves and understand who we are. Secondly, we need to focus on infrastructure because we need that money people share in Abuja to build our roads, bridges and dredge our River Niger.

Each state should be able to create an economic zone within the country, about 9 economic zones with Lagos as the centre.

All we need to do is to make sure that each zone is powering the state within their locality.

So, I believe that with this, infrastructure, power, maybe because we already have regular oil money that I think we will use to power our productivity, because we won’t export oil again.

A few days after Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and Minister of State for Healh, Osagie Ehanire came under fire for receiving Yusuf Buhari after his medical trip, video of his arrival at Aso Rock has emerged.

Many had decried the presence of the duo at the State House and wondered if the two office holders had no important engagements.

In the video, Yusuf was seen closely followed by a man who appears to be guiding his left arm.

As he entered a room, he walked straight to his father, President Buhari.

Both greeted and spoke for some seconds.

Others seen in the footage were Yusuf’s mother and First Lady, Aisha Buhari, one of his sisters and Governor Bello.

The expansion of El Prat Airport in Barcelona have been abandoned, because it would have led to more air traffic above Lionel Messi’s mansion in the coastal town of Castelldefels.

The official explanation given for why the addition of a new runway located to the sea was discarded, were environmental and financial reasons.

But the president of Spanish low-cost airline, Vueling, offered a different perspective.

“You cannot pass over where Messi lives,” Javier Sanchez-Prieto said during a talk at Barcelona’s ESADE university.

“This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world.”

Vueling, based at El Prat de Llobregat, has hubs in Barcelona-El Prat Airport and Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.

NYSC urges prospective Corps member to register before the registration ends on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

The National Youth Service Corp, NYSC has fixed March 26 for the commencement of the registration of  2018 Batch ‘A’ corps members.
The NYSC made this announcement on its Facebook page and Twitter handle on Wednesday, February 28.

The management of the scheme also said the registration will end on Sunday, April 8, 2018.


According to NYSC, the deployment and printing of call-up letters by its ICT department will thereafter begin on April 9 to 11.


The highlights of the exercise include:

(a) The notification /online printing of call-up letters/ Delivery of call – up letters to institutions for stream ‘1’ will begin on April 12 to 15, 2018.

(b) The online printing of deployment deposition by corps producing institutions (CPI’s) is April 12 to 16, 2018.

The National Youth Service Corps was created in 1973 to “reconstruct, reconcile and rebuild the country after the Nigerian Civil war.”

Lewis, the father of 25-year-old Chiadikobi Ezeibekwe has reportedly approved a union between the latter and his younger sister, Chibuzor who is only 17 years old.
The development expectedly received condemnation from community members of Agba village located in Aguata Local Government of Anambra State.

Observers found Ezeibekwe's interest in marrying his sibling to be a thing of surprise.

The faith of the family who were described as Sabbatharian in a report by The Sun News appeared to be the motivation for the strange marriage between the pair.

“I am a Sabbatharian, I am a Christian that observes Sabbath and in the process of searching through the scripture we discovered that it is possible to marry your relative, your blood relative, your cousin, uncle, your sister, and on account of that we went on.

"Then people started hearing about it and that was the uproar and everything, so I married my younger sister.

“We are not really wedded in the church. It wasn’t true that we wedded in the church; we are just a family gathering here.

"Every Sabbath we observe Sabbath, we don’t do any other thing, we are just a family. There is a church that was here before, but we are no more with them; they have found a place and stayed there and we are now on our own, we just observe Sabbath on Sabbath days.

“We don’t have any name, we don’t have any signboard, we just observe Sabbath here and worship. He is not really the head, my elder brother, Chijioke, is rich in the scripture.

“It was me that pronounced our marriage, that my sister and myself were going to marry. Our parents were around. Mother, because of what she believed, supported it.

"Then the two of us went to our father and he asked us, ‘why should this come to pass, did we consult people, did we ask very, very well or are we just playing with it?’ We told him we were not playing with it, that I could not play with something like that.

"He asked again whether God told us to do it and did we search through the scripture? We told him that we searched through the scripture and we believed it. He said there was no problem, that if God signed it he could not reverse it," says the 25-year-old man.

Opposition from his eldest brother appears to be the main headache for Ezeibekwe who revealed that his sibling, one of 10 children isn't in support of the marriage.

The latter who is based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, travelled from his residence in a bid to understand the situation.

Discoveries he made inspired more reproach having learned that the unusual union had received the support of his parents who were quick to endorse the marriage between their children.

Chief Gabriel Ezechukwu, the Traditional Prime Minister of Ekwulobia had a similar take on the matter.

He reportedly consulted Lewis who claimed to have withdrawn support for the marriage according to The Sun News.

According to reports, a parish priest has fixed a date, March 17, 2018, set aside to dissolve the union.

Prior to this announcement, Ezechukwu who has expressed a keen interest in the issue, sent 17-year-old Chibuzor to a doctor for a pregnancy test which came out negative.

According to the reports, angry youths burned down the church where the brother and sister were reportedly wedded.

The Sabbath church was reportedly located in the teacher’s compound.

Discussing the controversial topic with Vanguard, the teacher who is the sixth of 10 children said, “I am a Sabbath and in searching through the scriptures, I discovered that one could marry his sibling.

"So, we went ahead with the arrangement to marry my younger sister. God told me to marry my sister and she also saw same vision. There are places in the Bible that support such marriage.

"Those in doubt should read Songs of Solomon chapters 4 and 5 and 1st Corinthians Chapter 7. Since we took this decision, I have not felt anything unusual, or felt that I did anything wrong. .

"In the school where I teach, many people ask me about it and I boldly refer them to the Bible. Besides, by marrying one’s sibling, there will not be the possibility of introducing ugly situations, like diseases or social vices into the family.”

The traditional prime minister, Gabriel Ezeukwu, said the angry youths had initially considered “subjecting the couple to rituals” as punishment.

He added that everyone was relieved to learn that the girl is not yet pregnant.

“Before coming to me, they were considering various options, including whether to involve the police, resort to jungle justice or parade those involved round the town before subjecting them to other rituals.

"However, I ensured that the girl in question was subjected to a rigorous pregnancy test to ascertain that she had not been impregnated by her brother and, after several tests, it was confirmed that she was not pregnant, which is a relief,” he said.

Incest: A rising trend?

The word incest exists because sexual relations between blood relatives happen. Bible scholars can point out to a few cases of incest in the Old Testament. And if you are not into religion at least you watch "Game Of Thrones" and can see freaky things happened between a brother and his sister back in the day.

At the heart of this story is that are we born with the knowledge that incest is bad or is it something that must be taught by parents?

Granted sex education in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. As a young Nigerian, you are expected to figure out hormones and puberty by yourself. The closest you can get to an explanation is when your Biology teacher gets to the Reproduction part of the syllabus.

Our prudish attitude towards sex reflects on issues such as sexual consent, rape, sexual violation amongst others. We don't talk about sex. We just know people have it.

Without sexual education it's hard to believe that some kids do not see incest as a taboo of sorts. Every human being has a moral consciousness, a conscience you might say wired in his or her DNA.

Children know killing is bad because they are born with a moral framework of good and bad. Our parents didn't have to lecture us that killing is wrong. We just know. I would like to believe the same goes with incest.

However, one cannot dismiss the numerous tales of siblings sleeping with each other. There are too many sordid stories of incest on the Internet.

These stories will make you wonder if parents have a role to play so that their children don't engage in incestsexual relationships?

In more advanced nations, we have seen cases of  brothers and sisters having an affair.

Yusuf also said that troops during the patrol intervened in a violent clash between hunters and herdsmen in Obi Local Government following a distress call.

In related development, Yusuf said troops on patrol named Ayem Akpatuma, Cat Race, also seized a locally made pistol with one live cartridge at Gidan Kiya village, Ibbi Local Government Area of Taraba.

He call on the residents of the areas where the exercise was taking place to continue to cooperate with the troops by providing useful information and to report any suspicious movement to security agencies.
